Haha yeah it is like that. It is so hard to read through this sub-forum, I even do not want to troll anyone anymore because I have the feeling that the actual topic of a thread is absolutely irrelevant.

Why do they not hire one or two more moderators? Are the owners of bitcointalk.org living their lives under palm trees with bikini babes and cocktails in the Bahamas right now or what?

Not sure wtf you guys are talking about, this is the only bitcoin related area worth following on this forum. All other areas are simply a waste of time. I admit it's lame, but it's all relative.

This sub-forum actually probably has a lot more policing in it than a majority of the other threads I see within the rest of the subforums, and while there is a lot of spam most of it is at least somewhat related, or it quickly gets deleted. I've seen some spam threads take a day or two to get deleted in other places. While it might be bad looking at it, it is relatively better.

the reason is simple: price is almost [dead] stable with a horizontal line forming up.
and it has always been like this, whenever there is a small movement there is a lot of activity here too but when things settle down like these days and price becomes stable with so little movement everybody becomes silent watching which way it will go then start their posting.

Well, how much speculating on bitcoin can you possibly do before you and everyone else gets bored and goes home?  People post in this section to see their own words and that's about it.  You either think we're going up or going down, and there aren't many facts on which to base that opinion.   I don't think people even know how many bitcoin users there are,  how many have been lost, et cetera.   Speculation is all guesswork and it just gets old after a while.

Mods are still present, there's been tons of deleted threads from dumb bitch #1 - won't say who called the cavalry. This place has been cleaned up daily for quite some time. What remains is just sig campaigners doing their weekly chores.

Sort of this. And if you had any 'good speculation tips', you'd hold them as close to your chest as possible. There's just no reason telling everyone if you know anything about the future of bitcoin price, as it will virtually destroy the advantage you have.

So, the people posting here, are most likely people who 'think' they know or who actively spread FUD to drive the price one way or another.

Some would speculate there are those attempting to make this happen.

We all know who the resident shills/trolls are but as far as a lack of posting & somewhat quietness around this part of the forum, the price has been fairly steady for a while now.

Not much to talk about when there's no volatility.

Yes, everytime there is a slight crash, dormant accounts come out saying "I told you so".
This silence is preferable to the doomsday scenarios which get bandied about when there is a hint of a downtrend.

This is the secondary thread regarding moderation that I've seen recently regarding this sub-board. I'll have to repeat what I had said in the previous thread as it became inactive.

Have you taken a closer look at Bitcoin Discussion, Gambling, Economics (not the sub-board that we are in)? Compare the threads, their sizes in addition to their quality (although it's harder to compare as speculative talk is different) to the threads found there. You will see that many of the threads that should be dead but were revived by spammers - aka necro posting have been locked in addition to threads that are obsolete, or have grown too big due to spam. On the first page of this board, at the time of writing, there are 8 locked threads.

Additionally, what makes this harder is the lack of reports. Most of the work that has been done on this section was without reports. It would be really helpful, and I'd really appreciate it, if you helped out and started reporting anything that breaks the rules (including spam).

Quite sad really, the Wall Observer thread used to always be really busy & fun to read too. The price has been fairly level for a while now & I just guess people are bored.

Hopefully we'll see a spike or a new ATH & this part of the forum will get really busy again. It can't help with there being no bullish news around atm.

Can't say I'm surprised. The ATH is not far off three years ago now. That's a vast chunk of Bitcoin's entire lifespan. Some super cool stuff has developed in the intervening years but the world still doesn't look any closer to getting a boner for it all.

Traders appear to have moved to alts. You get a new ATH every week in altland.

The speculation subforum is just to have fun with price predictions, that is why there is less moderation here, and if I reckon correctly you are one of the guys is that is always FUDding

most of the time this sub is the same way.
when the price is hot, everybody is spamming FUD about bitcoin to push it in one way or another.
and when price is not moving everybody goes to a winter sleep :D

Well thats true, specially now because there's no big increase or decrease of the price, so this sub furom is dead until something good oe bad happens to bitcoin price.
