Title: Why blocktrail detect a transaction but not by blockchain
Post by: mobnepal on August 28, 2016, 01:21:50 PM
I have experienced quite new thing today when receving bitcoin from bittrex. Bittrex said bitcoin sent and also gives transaction id but when i checked my blockchain wallet it shows no any incoming transaction. But when i checked that transaction it is shown by blocktrail explorer,  but it require 2-3 confirmations before blockchain detect this and shows balance.

Could this be happened because blockchain nodes didn't sync well with the network or bittrex may be using different version/older version of wallet and blockchain using different version. Which you think could be actual reason ?

Do you mean you are using Blockchain.info wallet and the transaction isn't showing there ? or the transaction isn't showing in the explorer ?

Either way , Blockchain.info is known for having a lot of issues lately (Explorer showing wrong info , API unstable , and the wallets) (the new wallet is probably the worst). I would suggest switching to BTC.COM instead (wether you are using the API , the wallet or as explorer - BTC.COM = Blocktrail btw)

That's normal.  Explorers only shows transactions that they have inside their node's mempool, and nodes can choose transactions they want to add in their mempool based on their fee (min relay fee), so blocktrail might have different requirement from blockchain.info.  Also a transaction with very low priority and fee will have trouble getting propagated and won't appear in some explorers.  Once the transaction gets confirmed all explorers will show it (if their node is fully synced, at least).
