That is why its always advisable to use desktop wallets, no one can lock your wallet and you can fund any loan you want. If you are in the loan business using wallets like Multibit and Electrum is very much recommended. If you have time it is even more recommended having bitcoin core fully installed on your PC. I do, but I locked down the computer I use for creating the transactions overnight. I have 2 MacBooks. One for school and one for bitcoin (& Burstcoin). The bitcoin one gets locked down overnight and the funds get transferred to cold storage (Ledger wallet, but only if it is above 0.02BTC). I want to maximize the security of my investors money and I don't mind paying a little money once a week (Hot wallet is mostly empty).

It is not recommend to use bitcoin core or any other full node ;) as a wallet, as they are less secure. They are prone to attacks and I don't want to risk that. There is lots of stories about people storing bitcoins on full nodes and suddenly they are gone.

Please back your claims with proofs.

Can you provide an example where bitcoins stored on full nodes suddenly disappear and the problem was with Bitcoin Core?
Almost every time its an infected machine and a malware stole the bitcoins.

I don't know if it has been fixed yet, but I just remember seeing that warning quite often on Reddit on a few new pages. It could have turned, but I prefer electrum or another software like it over a full node.

It wasn't an issue in the first place.
You would need to store your wallet.dat file on your webserver directory for these scans to succeed or in other words you need to seriously mess with the bitcoin core configuration for this to work.

IMO, I prefer lightweight clients for offline storage because it takes up less resource.
