Why I think price of LTC goes up? When people quit mining Bitcoins with GPU's, they have to move to another coin that can't be mined by the current ASIC's or just quit mining with them. Litecoins also can't be "merge mined", like Namecoins (it destroyed the value but saved the network). What will happen to Litecoin? Difficulty shoots up, 20 times at the very least... They won't be sold cheap because it wouldn't make sense to mine them at a loss... Will Litecoins be dumped? Hard to say but when it's so hard to mine, why would you dump them? So I predict price goes up in 2/3 months from now... Buy now, while they are cheap. Just 100 of them could make you a little fortune. When Bitcoin is gold, Litecoin is silver. I am positive that in this time frame, we'll see at least one significant upswing for Litecoin. Personally, I am betting this will be true for most active alt cryptocurrencies, as well.

I don't sell a single ltc right now. We are used to btc/ltc moving together. This trend was broken today. Ltc and btc work today very independant. If this stays like that for some time btc-holders can be concerned i think. Right now my senses tell me: ltc is sucking the life out of btc. My prediction for 2014? HiroCoin (X11 algorithm)... History repeats... In 2013, Bitcoin was taken over by ASICs and GPU miners started mining Litecoin, because there were no ASICs for scrypt at that time. Exactly one year later, Litecoin is facing the same: LTC is taken over by ASICs and GPU miners need a new coin to mine. HiroCoin is the coin of 2014... give it 2-3 months... price will explode... Don't sell now, you'll regret it... DarkCoin is X11 too, the "dark" name however prevents it from being accepted by retailers. Remember: history always repeats... |
