Title: Intel vs AMD and Litecoin Post by: M0ndialu on March 29, 2013, 03:46:03 PM Hy all ! I need an opinion
I want to buy a motherboard + processor 1. -Processor Intel® CoreTM i5 3350P, 3100MHz, 6MB, socket 1155 -MSI Z77A-GD65, Socket 1155 vs 2. -Processor AMD FX X8 8350, 4000MHz, 16MB, socket AM3+, Box -ASROCK 990FX EXTREME3, Socket AM3+ Thanks. Title: Re: Intel vs AMD and Litecoin Post by: sounds on March 29, 2013, 06:01:37 PM GPUs will mine LTC faster than any CPU, so get whichever one you like better for whatever your other criteria are; your choice of CPU will make no difference in the long run as to how many LTC you can mine.
Title: Re: Intel vs AMD and Litecoin Post by: MysteryMiner on March 29, 2013, 06:15:57 PM AMD FX-8350 + Extreme3 MoBo are very good combo. I will go for that without considering anything else. The AM3+ socket will also host at least one AMD desktop CPU generation, but LGA1155 are made obsolete by LGA1150 Haswell cores.
CPU mining will be better with GPU anyway as Sounds said. Get a HD7970 if it fits into the setup. Title: Re: Intel vs AMD and Litecoin Post by: Fiyasko on March 30, 2013, 12:39:37 AM AMD
AMD AMD AMD If your going to do NOTHING but CPU work, Pick intel Title: Re: Intel vs AMD and Litecoin Post by: sounds on March 30, 2013, 08:28:14 AM AMD Well, yeah. Obviously I like the fact that my APU generates a few mBTC each week but it's a small difference. If your going to do NOTHING but CPU work, Pick intel Even a 7970 doesn't generate much BTC anymore.
