Title: BTC debit cards
Post by: britannia on September 05, 2016, 07:57:45 PM
I was wondering whether there is any list of all the Bitcoin debit card providers out there at the moment (needless to say, I couldn't find one). I am not that bothered about privacy, so I don't mind having my name written on the card, however it must bear the logo of one of the major companies like Visa or MC, so I could use it without any problems anywhere. The only offer I have found so far and which sounds decent is the one from ANXPRO. Has anyone had any experience with them? Does it work properly, as advertised? What sort of exchange rate are they using when converting the BTC into US$? I would imagine it should be to their advantage, but to what extent? Any other similar options available on the market? I would be grateful for any feedback and experiences pertaining to this matter. Thanks and cheerio!

Here's a list of bitcoin debit cards and their reviews: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1410577.0. Just make sure to do your due diligence right now especially because one of them has a scam accusation against them(spectrocoin).

Almost all BTC -> debit cards providers use their own exchange rate!
Only as far i know that use their own exchange is cex.io but they have no their debit card, but have service to transfer to most visa/mastercard in the world

If you are from USA you could try bitpay debit card, it use their exchange rate and have very reputable history

I haven't heard before about ANXPRO but I can suggest you some other (better) bitcoin debit card services.

The exchange rate depends from the market, and from where do they get the price (because not all exchanges have the same rate BTC/USD)

Some of them are E-coin(Wirex), Bit-x, Cryptopay, and recently Uquid which fees can be found here: https://uquid.com/fees

I have or using cryptopay debit cards from few months now but their buying and selling rate have really big gap compared to market rate. So i was also searching for better alternative and going through few reviews and recommendation from my friend who hold XAPO cards, i think i will buy one xapo card as they seem to use current market rate and we don't have to exchange or load our card before using those cards which is really good.

I haven't heard about ANXPRO before, so better find good review before trying any card providers. Check here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1410577.0

There are a lot of debit cards and I must say that bit-x is for me one of the best one there is these days, its a nice and good one.
The only thing that is a downside of the bit-x debit card is that you have to pay for a real physical card.

I must agree, I would not feel safe to use any service with more then a 0.5btc if I don`t know who is standing behind it, shame you can only get bitpay debit card in USA so rest of the ppl are let to use more or less anonymous services :(
I have few cards but atm none was used, and I still don`t know how to bypass local banks with low fee and be secured and safe

One is cex.io but even for them my local debit card is needed and banks can make a problem

Just trying visiting in the uquid thread, (one of the example bitcoin debit a card provider and then asking them about the bitcoin debit card how it works) a lot of them is not through the local bank but through the visa service.

I can recommend Xapo Bitcoin debit card. It has Visa logo on and is accepted everywhere online and in physical stores. Never had any problems with it, customer support is good and fees are acceptable. I don't usualy take cash at ATM and for using card in the stores or online there is no provision. I'm user over a year now and I'm very satisified. I just wish that there was some provider for Bitcoin credit cards but that is probably distant future.

I would but I am not so trustee with ppl being paid to write good info about some extra service, so far I know few person which used ADVcash and Xapo, but Bitcoin debit card usage is so low!
I presume most ppl are waiting for 2000-5000$ per BTC to start use it more

Also many ppl are using cex.io from where I am but it only for banks debit cards, I duno if anyone tried to top some Visa credit card with tham

I have been used e-coin for a while and have seen that the exchange rate is very different buy-sell so I wonder what difference does Xapo applies.

Recently I got uquid virtual debit card for free but don't know where to spend few dollars buying something that I need so I'm waiting in the upcoming days to spend them and see how much are the commissions.

Yes we have various btc debit cards now which we can accessible in atm machine to make our btc to fiat cash easily with out no efforts of any exchangers. As you said xapo is the one the good debit services as of now and you could try for spectrocoin card or btcdeb. These also have nice features buddy.

There are many Bitcoin debit cards. I use the Advcash, but you need to pay attention in the fees, because there is a 2% hidden fee of 2% in all bitcoin deposits. I like to suggest you to use review thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1410577.0) effectively and choose your flexible card by yourself.

We can use btc debit cards on atm's to exchange to fiat currency, but atm takes big fees. Xapo card is on of the oldest btc debit cards, but it's quite expensive. What about spectrocoin, they have scam accusation which didn't resolved for longer than month, so, it's better to avoid them for now.

Thanks Cast12, I was curious about bitcoin debit cards...
I head Neteller have a lot of problems with bitcoin, is anyone using this service?

other question to you all, where can I use the card? It's like a exchange, for example, can I deposit bitcoin and buy in places that accepts only USD or other fiat?
