Title: Has anyone tried RX 480 on these old Motherboards/CPU's? Post by: Raja_MBZ on September 07, 2016, 05:39:35 PM Well I'm going to create a new RX 480 mining rig and have already bought 3 of RX 480 with 750 Watts PSU, but now totally finished with my budget. I've to stick to an old motherboard/CPU, and I've got the following choices:
-Dell T3400 -HP XW4600 -Asus P5NSLI All of these have 2 PCI-e x16 slots, as I've got a single USB riser and I'm going to put 2 of the cards on the motherboard directly and 1 of the cards through the USB riser. All of these are Core2Duo and with socket 775, DDR2 RAM, etc. Which one should I choose? Is someone around here using any of the above ones? All of these are pretty too much old. I'm thinking on increasing the budget by a bit and get the Dell Precision T3500 Dual Core... Any ideas on this one?

If its the older PCIe 1.0 some of the newer cards won't work. |
