Title: [solved] sending wrong sum to mtgox account
Post by: relmeas on June 13, 2011, 03:58:09 AM
Did anyone try it?
I wanted to send 1.02 BTC thinking I'd have 0.01 fee but the client said I need 0.02 fee so I changed it to x.00 and sent, well then I remembered I declared 1.02 to mtgox...

will they discard this payment now or I can send another 0.02 ? or they'll just add 1.00 I sent ?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this...

I would defiantly email their support, generally from my experience they will accept "Up to" the amount specified. I could be tottally wrong tho, just email MtGox they get back to you in about a day

I always wondered this too, if you sent the wrong amount I'm assuming (hoping) they'd still apply it to your account... since all bitcoin transactions are final and can't be 'undone' you'd be pretty screwed if they didn't apply it.

If this is the case, they should remove the amount in the dialog and just say "Please send your bitcoins to xxxxxxx"

AFAIK that's in the works for the new interface.
