Title: How long is newbie status?
Post by: brendongl on September 11, 2016, 02:40:47 PM
I've been a newbie for a week or so now, the 360 second limit is quite fustrating. I type something then realise i cant post it, then it saves in some drafts" which i can't even find later on.

Where can i find the information on how many posts / how long a account must be for different status, and the post time limit on those accounts??

Look in meta. The stickied thread titles are self-explanatory.

You need 30 activity points to become jr. member.

You can check it out here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237597.0

If you post once in a day you will get out of newbie status in one month. Because you can get 1 activity point max. in a day.

Your first post has been made on 7th September which is the current week (and current 2-week period)

If you stay active like this then your rank will be changed from Newbie to Jr. Member on 27th September.

Hello members,

I can see that a lot of new members, including myself are analyzing forum topics. So new members have to be full active to maintain their account, so we can start to use some of beneficials that this forum provide. I can see that "signature campaigns". I will do some research about that.

Best regards.  ;)

At least one post regularly each 2-week period can make you one day potential full member.

What do you mean full active to maintain the account? 14 posts each 2-week period makes you the specific rank (without potential).

I would better suggest the newbies to read the threads already posted on it before making such threads. To be frank, we have so many threads on the same topic and have plenty of same answers posted already. I feel, this is a basic knowledge to know the post counts and time needed to reach the next level.  Sorry if i hurt you by saying this. Thank you and welcome on board.

To be frank...the search function is terrible because:

  • You can't sort it thru last active post
  • there is a limit (it says to use google if you want to search quicker...

Also...not to mention these forums are full of not important / almost spam-like posts just because people want to get BTC with signature campaigns.
I mean, look at EVERY topic, there is never many good long thread conversations going because someone just reads the title thread, clicks reply and throws out some nonsensical thing to do with the topic thread to earn points in there campaign....

I enjoy these forums as a resource, i do not enough having to sift through useless comments which are there purely to benefit off signature campaigns...
Am i right? Or am i just being cynical?

You just need to make 4 more posts and post once in the next activity period and your rank will upgrade to Jr.Member.

Potential Activity: 28 (Potential Newbie)
Weeks to Next Potential Rank: 1
Potential Activity to next Potential Rank: 2

You can find your drafts by going to this link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=drafts
But if you be more conscientious, you can actually find it under the "Post" and "Preview" button.

If you are a newbie you need to post in one month to become a jr member what I mean a time table to rank up your rank is one month for jr member I dont about the other high rank. So keep up posting but do it properly to avoid rejection in signature campaign in the future. Good quality post is a mass.

I don't understand, my activity increases quicker than 1 activity a day. How is that?

Unlike what a certain someone said above, you can get more than 1 activity per day. It will only stop increasing once you reach your potential activity which increases by 14 for every 2 weekly (14 days) period that you posted in. Someone made a list of activity periods' begin and end dates here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582736.0).

If your going to post 2 more post you will be adding you jr.member status like mine and 70 activity for the member and 120 for the full member and 240 sr.member and the rest ... don't mind it yet because you will be take more months before you reach sr. member and years for hero member and so on.

There are members who registered 5-6 years back but are still newbies. The fact is time only doesn't upgrade your rank.It is your activity per 14 days which matters. We all have experienced tha 360 seconds limit and trust me it helps a lot in keeping spammers and trolls.Keep visiting and posting daily without paying attention to your rank
