I have a Windows 10 PC with 5x RX 480 Nitros 4GB

My miner crashes ever time it starts (Claymore miner)

Any suggestions? Another miner software to use? Also what are the best settings for Sapphire Trixx?

What does your bat file look like?
Also have you tried redownloading claymore?
Try with only one gpu

Remember for Claymore's Miner you need at least 16 GB of virtual memory for MultiGPU on Windows & amd catalyst 15.12 for best compatibility & performance.

Hmm.. try with just 1 GPU, an older version of claymore & if all that fails you should consider reinstalling amd catalyst 15.12.

but 15.12 doesn't support rx 480

As far as I have mined with Claymore's Miner, device Support is extended by each new release. So It makes me understand (If I'm not mistaken) that Claymore's miner is developed based on amd catalyst 15.12.

1 month ago, I updated from 15.12 to 16.1 and It was a mess, Claymore's miner didn't work and I had to rollback.

That even r9 fury cards are supported by 15.12 version.
Give it a try, if you still have troubles you should post on Claymore's thread. That's all help I can offer.

I'm trying to downloaded 16.7.3 but it crashed. I can't figure out where to downlod 15.12, the page has no download link

15.12 doesn't support the RX4xx cards. Get the latest 16.x.x driver.

But with the latest driver Claymore crashes

You should probably provide more details regarding your setup, settings, miner start up batch file etc...

I'm running Win 7 64bit with driver 16.8.3 and Claymore 7.0 on Nitro 470 8G without any issues.

I tried different versions of Crimson. It still doesn't work. Any alternatives to Claymore's miner?

try that: uninstall drivers- after reboot open regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AMD and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ATI Technologies, delete both. Go to C:\Windows\Temp delete all. Go to C:\Users\YourRigName\AppData\Local\ delete AMD folder- reboot- reinstall latest crimson drivers... it helped me in win10

use the new 19.6.1 driver, it's very usefull.
i recomended you to uninstal all driver using DD driver uninstaller in safe mode before you instal new driver.

I've had the same problem only with 380X. I tried everything (even changing the risers). I was able to mine with max 3 GPU's. After I changed my motherboard to a ASROCK H81 pro btc => voila, everything worked fine. I mine with 6x GPUs on all the cards I have.

On the Sapphire Trixx I've set the cooler fans to increase directly proportional with the temperature.

I have 2x 480 NITRO with no problems on windows 10 64 bit with claymore 7.0 and latest 16.9.2 hotfix drivers

check some wires that started to get burned..maybe when it started to pull electricity some wires cannot supply proper electricity, i've seen that happen in my miners..

-unplug and check PSU modular cables
-check riser-molex connector...trace connections.

in troubleshooting, it is best to check the hardware first before tinkering with the software.

I have 5 of these cards but it always crashes on start. I resetted the computer, installed latest miner and driver. Changed virtual memory settings. Still crashes

What I mean is you have to decrease the Amper from 6.5 a to 3 A.

This means you have to feed with 12V instead of 5V.

By and large modify your riser.
