Post by: Octahedron on March 30, 2013, 02:14:16 PM
How long does it take to receive a BFL unit if ordered right now?

Bfl

Started taking orders in June of last year...They have not  shipped one single unit as of yet.

X orders * 0 Shipped orders = Infinity

They are getting close now so could start seeing them ship in the near future. But the Que (orders since June 2012 till Present) is long.

Get in line hope for the best. (Behind me of course)...:)

As long as it takes for a tree to make a sound when it falls in the woods.

I believe they shipped FPGAs a while ago, but no ASICs.

I was told they will ship end of march 2013, then it could take upto 2 months to be delivered  on a first come first served basis.
But I've read the blog/post (It's on here somewhere, I just can't find it again.) That they have just finished testing there first batch of chips (15 March, think)
So it sounds like they will miss that date.

Any fingers crossed!

They say they can make and ship 300 units a day after they finish the prototype testing. So shouldnt be long before they catch today preorders.

But im not gonna waste my hard earned money there because I dont believe their promises  ;) , they seems to use super optimistic estimates for everything

Unfortunately they seems to be the only option if you want to buy something right now. I will hold on until they have been catching up their order queue.

I hope they deliver, I'd hate to see all of these people get scammed.

Yea, that could keep GPU mining profitable for a longer time, but ultimately it would be very bad news.

Those Avalons seems to have a very high asking price on secondhand market.

Only if somebody would know when they deliver, and in that case, what do they deliver.

I know of one being sold for 800btc. But he has only used it for a week or so. Wondering why he's selling it..

If you go on the internet and order a money printing machine, there has to be a catch

... at least until ASICMINER's additional 250,000 GH/s comes online, which will likely be before the first BFL ASIC ships.    :P

How does one buy those ASICMiner's devices?

They aren't selling devices (yet), they are mining for themselves.
