Title: "Virtual" Post by: S M I L Y on March 30, 2013, 04:35:52 PM Does the term "Virtual Currency" bother anyone else!??!!!
Bitcoin IS REAL Currency! Its not like a Virtual car that you cant drive or a virtual house that you cant live in!! Bitcoin is digital and has REAL value! It performs a REAL function! Lets get the word to all the media types that it is NOT Virtual but REAL or Digital! /Rant_mode_off Title: Re: "Virtual" Post by: herzmeister on March 31, 2013, 01:25:37 AM Money itself is merely information.
Only the medium that carries this information and/or the authority that controls this information may change over the time. Title: Re: "Virtual" Post by: Mike Christ on March 31, 2013, 02:07:20 AM Virtual: being on or simulated on a computer or computer network <print or virtual books> <a virtual keyboard>: as
a : occurring or existing primarily online <a virtual library> <virtual shopping> b : of, relating to, or existing within a virtual reality <a virtual world> <a virtual tour> Lots of different definitions for virtual, but this one seems to fit the bill :P I mean, nobody shakes their head at a virtual auction anymore. Sometimes virtual is a good thing. But that doesn't mean it isn't real, which is just the trouble of the English language being fickle with its intention. Title: Re: "Virtual" Post by: marci003 on March 31, 2013, 09:01:15 AM I personally prefer 'digital'.
Title: Re: "Virtual" Post by: Un zafado cualquiera on March 31, 2013, 04:02:54 PM cyber currency is acceptable?
Title: Re: "Virtual" Post by: Adrian-x on April 01, 2013, 03:42:15 AM Good point, it is arguably "virtual property" but we don't call a phone call a virtual conversation or email virtual mail.
So Bitcoin is more a digital or P2P currency but not virtual currency. Title: Re: "Virtual" Post by: Mike Christ on April 01, 2013, 03:56:39 AM Whatever floats your virtual boat ;D
Title: Re: "Virtual" Post by: Stunna on April 01, 2013, 05:32:45 AM "Digital" Seems more appropriate. :D
