Ripple recently secured an additional $55 million from their latest funding round, as well adding several heavyweights in the banking sector to their network, giving Ripple a huge endorsement within the fintech space and an avenue for further consumer adoption.

The funding round introduced new investors to Ripple which include Standard Chartered, Accenture Ventures, SCB Digital Ventures, Siam Commercial Bank, and SBI Holdings. Interestingly enough, Seagate Technology, most known for their storage solutions, participated in the funding round as well...

Hello sir. This news is already known for days. As a cryptosphere media outlet please give us more info and tell us what your opinion on this is. What does the series B funding mean if I were a speculator in cryptocoins? Will it be a wise decision to invest in XRP long term?

it means exactly this, well a couple things really.  these power moguls see the possible future and want to be sure that they are not left behind.  they are not internally giving a full endorsement, but staking a claim on something that might have a future.  it is like a big company paying an inventor $15,000 for their project and then burying it.  it is about control and they are establishing it now

What matters is the integration of these other companies into the main stream of Crypto.  This is good and bad. .  On the good side, there is going to be exposure, development, and consolidation into the normal financial sectors that will mean a steep upward advance in popularity and use of Crypto in general.

On the bad side, the numbers do matter, two numbers, the amount of funds and the number of high power companies.

NEWS FLASH: BANKS ARE USING RIPPLE !

again  ::)

These topics get posted over & over & over & over & over & over and still no one cares.. true or not.

If people bitch about Litecoin being pointless than Ripple is 1,000x worse.
For one thing this is the king of ICO scams that started them all.
ETH got bigger instead of Ripple because they tacked on a gimmick.

It's been years and no one cares you wonder why ?

When it was launched here it was flamed off the board and they had to go into hiding for a long loooong time.
After after the scene turned super scammy accepting mass ICO scam coins did they crawl out.

Fuck 'em.

Well, you may not care, but markets obviously do. The funding was the reason for the price spike 5 days ago.
Now - back to normal.

Ripple is a shit project that is running a long con. It continually needs more funding cause despite the massive amount they raise every so often they spend it on themselves and come back with their begging hat out. This alone should tell people to run for the hills. Banks however have their own brand of scam ongoing so ripple is a long lost cousin to them which makes them very wet.

In fact ripple is such a successful scam they started stellar,  ripple copy scam.

It is funny that you mentioned "that will mean a steep upward advance in popularity and use of Crypto in general". Does Ripple look like a real cryptocoin or currency to you? Is it a blockchain with blocks added that is verified and proven thru POW?

How can Ripple be the vehicle that will advance the use and popularity of crypto when it is not crypto in the first place? It is a glorified database. I am curious who verifies and proves the transactions in Ripple? Is it the users? Can we run a node and start helping the network verify transactions?

@bbc.reporter
EXACTLY well said !

It is historically the worst ICO of them all.
And like the other guy said ..long-con
They refuse to give up.

And yeah Stellar too i forgot about that hahhaha

I also recall possibly the largest giveaway topic posted here way back.
The Ripple guys told everyone here to go to Ripple.com and sign up..
So they can get their online wallet and i think it was 10 free coins. (maybe 2 i forgot how many)
EDIT: I WAS WRONG ..it was 1,000 XRP

Each person had to go and register with an email address etc.
And after a couple hundred pages of people signing up then posting their address here..
NO ONE ever got 1 damn coin !

Eventually after a loooong time the giveaway topic starter who claimed to be a rep for Ripple
silently closed the topic then wandered off with 0 explanation in any way shape or form.

I was seriously disgusted by the stunt they pulled.

Hey Ripple pricks.. where is the scene's money you owe them ?
Pay up assholes !

This is a simple act.  It is a group of high powered investors insuring that they have a deep control set in the Crypto world. .  They may not even see it going anywhere, but they see the potential and cannot afford to get left behind.

@salmanahmedone. Surely investing in Ripple would be the most absurd thing to do if they really want to ensure deep control in the cryptosphere. Ripple is not even largely used, only bitcoin is. My opinion is they think they can cash their investment in a few years time when Ripple the company will start an IPO.

Serious question, if Ripple is getting Series XXX funding, why is it still considered a crypto? When was the last time you heard "Litecoin to get $20 million in series C funding"?

They need to remove this from cryptos entirely, its a company/business not a crypto. Tradable tokens or not.

I don't know why Ripple is still being traded as a crypto asset it goes against everything crpyto stands for, even in terms of use case I will still pick Dash ahead of it because it can even match Ethereum  with the funding it is attracting.
