Title: BTC Hardware (noise) actually provides security???
Post by: ChineseSavior on September 20, 2016, 11:57:00 PM
Hello internet  ;D

An Idea came to me today, The jet aircraft like sound of the systems actually provide a security factor to your residence. The number of people who would actually steal a server are few and far between as most are sheeple. Even a high end server would be safe practically running in your back yard (from theft obv not weather).

For example. If a thief is staking out houses. If you have noisey jet aircraft running 24/7 they never know wtf is going on except loud noises.

... And in thief / crminial world loud noise = no go/abort etc.

Just a thought. Interesting though... Here I was thinking all this time that I need more security... Maybe I should downgrade ;)

So we have our uses for mining btc

1- btc
2- tax reasons
3- heaters in winter
4- anti theft loud noisy box basically like a sound generator for sheeple

Turn off your noisy boxes, go outside, get some fresh air and a little peace and quiet with the rest of the sheeple.
It seems like you've gone mad; possibly for tax reasons.

Interesting theory.  I think my dogs do the best job keeping people away!

I've been more concerned about not displaying any bitcoin logos so even if they are noticed by someone it's hard to know what that noise is all about!

Cant I just take a walk and get away from the jet aircraft for 5 minutes? since they self police themselves anyway (the sheeple that is) and the jet sound scares the thieves away.  LOL

You really have a passion for starting threads in hardware, don't you?

If  I am going to be saved I don't mind if my savior is Chinese.  Please keep posting.  But you need to know loud noise covers the noise of drilling a safe so this particular idea may attract criminals

Loud, constant noise attracts attention.

You may be a Chinese savior but I bet you can't save yourself when trouble comes knocking your door.

I would agree a "bad guy" is not going to know what the loud noise is.  I think it will attract attention personally, and it is better security not to attract attention of anyone really.

I personally would look at standard security systems, and camera's if you want security.   Heck it not only provides security but many other thing's this week the FedEx guy decided to deliver a box that was in pieces ... you can not imagine how much better customer service FedEx gives you when you have video.   Driver even apologized and admitted fault leaving a damaged box... this from at first pretending he had no idea.

A bad guy might not know what the noise is but of he risks it and your neighbors are used to the noise they're going to assume its you as funny as this is yes most would prob be like its a no go.
