Seems like the price of btc has taken abit of a dip in the last week, any experts on trading here have a analysis on the near future for the price?
I'm thinking about making a small investment of 2btc to sell quickly when the price goes back up.

But im no expert on trading, and there is so much knowledge and information available i don't know where to start looking.
It looks quite safe to buy now and the price will rise before the end of the year?

I truly think that bitcoin will drop this week to around $500 in price as its been around $600 for a long time.

What is the reason though? You believe that just because the price has been around $600 for a long time, that it means it will drop to $500?

Sorry to say this, but this is Bullshit. If you want to make statements like this, at least substantiate your claims with some evidence or a reason why this will happen. The truth is, nobody can predict with 100% accuracy what will happen with the price, because there are too many factors to take into consideration.

If you know in advance, what mayor event will be happening in the next weeks that will push the price up or down, you can make predictions like this. For example : Being a hacker, and knowing that you are going to hack a big exchange and that people will lose a lot of money. This scandal will cause a decrease in the use of Bitcoin and a drop in the price.

So let's refrain from making claims, we are not willing or able to back with proof. ^hmmmmmm^

The charts are still showing a good uptrend so 500 is very unlikely unless a major event hits which causes an end to the uptrend.

Using your reasoning I could just as well say that I truly think that bitcoin will rise this week to around $700 in price as its been around $600 for a long time.

Seems like you love altcoin and may be bagholding few alts so you want them to go green which will be if bitcoin price get dumped.  But i don't think there is any reason for traders to dump hard being panic right now.

I dont think you should buy the bitcoins right now you need to earn them or maybe some people want not everything for the bitcoin maybe you can buy them from that people i dont think 600 is best price to buy!

I also think that now is a good time to buy some Bitcoin for because I believe that the price is not going to be any much lower then it is at the moment.

I dont think the price of bitcoin will go down just because the price is at 600 for some time now. If bad happens like hacking, then the price will go down because of panicking.

Maybe the price of Bitcoin will drop a bit more, but $600 usd is a good price to buy.

I certainly doubt it $600 is still lower that anyone expected it to be after halving happened, all because bitcoin advancing was stopped by Bitfinex hack.
I see the price charts now and it is possible that uptrend could still carry on, maybe we will see slight drop, and then I expect sharp upward movement.

I guess current drop was caused by financial forecast which predict that USD will stand strong and announcement regarding bitcoin from Bank of Japan.

even without the hack of bitfinex the price was due for a correction as the market is completely disoriented after the block halving. there is literally zero indication of in what direction the price will go in the coming months. and with no direction or a happening that traders can focus on, it either will result in more stability, or the price going down further.

Sub 600 dollars now. It's a good time to start buying, we don't know how low it will go. I think it's because a bunch of idiots are buying on the Ethereum hype again to make some BTC out of the pump, once the ETH hype is dead again BTC will go to 600 territory and keep climbing.

in the long term price is going to rise, and that is all i can predict for you based on the analysis that i have of the market plus what the history has shown so far.

let me predict your future:
you invest $1200 with 0 knowledge then with the first stable price you become desperate and when another possible dip even small one happens you will start panicking and when you see the first FUD you will dump and lose money then price jumps back up, you panic again trying to make your losses back so you buy back at a higher price but price goes down after you buy so you panic some more and sell it again for another loss.


as i said buy for long term so it is safer to assume price will rise in that time frame.

the hack which was the biggest event so far could only push the price down to $500 area for a couple of hours and price jumped back up $50+
now there is nothing that can have the same effect on the horizons. and unless you have a magic ball to see the future, this is not going to happen.

currently slightly down at $600 below but i wish won't see panic selling today or tomorrow however if you dare buying bitcoin with the current price seems this is good moment but i won't guarantee the price will reach to $600 with pretty fast tomorrow

i think the opposite it will rise above 600 but not so fast perhaps by the end of this year it will happen, $700 is not to far away after all

When you say long-term, how long are we talking about?
I dont mind holding onto the bitocoin for like....3-4 months. I'm not looking to become a day-trader, but id expect to be able to buy/sell every 3/4 months and make a tidy profit.

My aim right now is to buy at $550, then sell at $750-800, it depends if i need the money at the time.
25% ROI over 3-4month period seems pretty good for me. If it takes a year, id be abit more annoyed but am willing to wait that long, and im not the sort of person who will 'panic', I know the price will go up again because i am a belive in the technology behind it, unless something drastic happens. (lets say, a worldwide black out for months), then id be worried. (because it would be worthless and i wouldnt even be able to do anything with it haha)

I think it's better to be patient waiting for the price fell around $550 or below it. because I see the price is on a downward trend.

but for me the amount 2 BTC is better to do short-term trading, you could try to trade altcoin. I know you are not expert. but you can learn, because I was also the first time to trade is not an expert. but over time you will understand and be able to get a lot of advantages there

I think it is good btc price has been nice and stable.. more people I feel will invest if the price stay pretty stable..

I believe there's more down side than up side at this point. In my posts and threads, I've often repeated how it will stagnate or fall between July (the halving) and Nov/Dec'2016. Before November 2016, this will go down, 500 and under is very possible.

Keep in mind the late Nov/early Dec rise to 800-900.

Keep in mind the coming crash in Jan'2017, we're looking at 250 blood bath level.

Stability will attract people that are willing to use Bitcoin as currency. Volatility is for investors and traders very important as it will allow them to make profits. Stability isn't wanted by them.

Bitcoin will stay in this price for a loooong time, if you want to invest, try to read more about some altcoins. They have much more speculation value right now than the bitcoin.

I hope that your speculation is not going to happen and the price of bitcoin is going to remain $600 for a long time. But I think that is better rather than falling down.

And for the next halving the possibility of bitcoins price to increase is higher as that day is going to come.

Before the halving happens the price is going to increase already because of the demand of bitcoin is keep on increasing.

i say it is a good time to buy but try to spread your buy orders at a range that you feel more comfortable with so that if price went lower you can still buy a couple of times on different levels and if it only stayed here you can buy at least once.

Now is a good time to buy if you ask me, the price has been stable for a long time now so I think that this has become the new barrier.
I do not think that the price is going to be much lower then this so you can buy for $600 it is the best option at the moment.

If you are in it for the long haul, I think the prices right now won't matter much. Buy with whatever budget you have and forget about it for the next 5 years. Just think that you lost that amount and move on and just go check it again after that span of time. You would be surprised how much the price has changed.

Price is going down, here is my assumptions why it happens:

1. Owners of Paxful (service similar to localbitcoins) were arrested in Miami with cocaine and AR-15. This caused uproar in the bitcoin world.

2. Uncertain future of bitcoin legislation in Japan and New Zealand where corresponding National Banks are evaluating bitcoin legal status.

3. Strong USD economic forecasts caused bitcoin investors do decline their support.

There no such basis that bitcoins price would go lower its price like that, even though it stabilize its  price as of now but  its not possible to drop like that, Thus we  must  expect that it would  gradually increase its price  on next week or months, no one really knows on what when it would be.

it is hard to say. the long term i have in mind is a much longer period of time but i think it is still possible to make some profit in 3-4 months.


try to find a good entry point that you are sure you will make a profit.

i can only give you an example of the past:
when the bitfinex hack happened i started gathering some fiat from here and there and even got some out of other places to buy bitcoin because i was sure that any price that we saw back then during those days will be an excellent profit. and i was right.

although keep in mind that waiting for a very low price like $500 may never happen ever again.

Sure.  Buy now as many bitcoin user said that its price will goes up before the end of the year.  Buy while the price is low.  If I have some money Ibwould definitely buy.  Sad thing to say is that I am only here just to have bitcoins for my needs.  But given more opportunity I think I will become one of the successful bitcoin earner.

By looking at the weekly chart, the weekly high reached around $610 and the dipping point as of today is around $595. Yes it plays around $600 so I think this price is the correction.

You may know about the Bitcoin's future and what will be world will give a trademark to the bitcoin. However value will arise in the end of this year and every halving time also price will rise so it shows bitcoin is with potential and you can buy it.

I think that it will fall a bit but than go up again very soon.

Now you can see the price is under $600 so it is a good time to buy and I am sure that the price will increase up within a few weeks so if you want to sell them quick then you will also get the profit and if you will keep them for longer then it will make a big profit for you.

Everytime you are not buying Bitcoin you are making a big mistake long term. I have been buying Bitcoin every month since it was 150 dollars at the January 2015 bottom and I have been making only green gains. You can never go wrong long term if you buy every month, I dont care if it takes 1 or 10 years, you always make gains.

maybe if you do feel that this is the right time to buy a bitcoin, then do not hesitate to buy it, because of the possibility of bitcoin prices will rise. but it might be better to monitor the price for a few more days before buying it. because if you buy a bitcoin to hold it for a long time, would be very detrimental if it all does not match the predictions, unless you buy it for business

I don't think that buying itself is the problem. The real problem is that people get tempted to sell their coins in a way too early stage, to cash out profits in the range of 10%, and buy back their coins at much higher levels as the price has been going up. This way they are burning through their profits in a rapid fashion while they think they are doing the right thing.

$600 for each bitcoin is already big for me, but if the price can go more high, i also want that. I think the price of bitcoin can increase more to $700, so yeah, it's a good time to buy bitcoin right now.

well, it is not a bad time to buy.  If you are ok with a shift of $25 up and down or perhaps a little more, it has been pretty stable for more than a few weeks.  there were all those predictions about the halving and that had very little effect.  there are not many events in the near future that we know of that will affect it, so this is as good a time as any to buy.  do not use money that you cannot afford to lose because one never knows for sure, but it is pretty safe right now, especially for a long term investment.

Why cant it go up, people say Bitcoin is dead when it falls to 200$ last year , but what happen now

When Bitfinex got hacked, the price has range from 550$ to 570$. It was at that range for a long time. It was as if Bitcoin was just waiting for new buyers to fill in their stash. That was a good time to buy because we all know that it was a major dump. Now that we're at 600$, you're planning to buy. You lost your chance to buy at a lower price. But anyway, if you buy now, you still wouldn't regret it because Bitcoin would eventually have another major rise.

It takes  a long time before you can make a good profit and we dont know when the price will increase again. so if you really want to make a sure profit better to wait for more price decrease.. i feel that the price will increase at november until december.. just last year..

It is not very good time to buy if you are short.
But its good almost everytime if you are long on it.

It all depends on what you think the value is going to go to at some point. If you think it can go beyond $600, then buy. If you think it is going to go down, then short it or don't buy. It all depends on your personal opinion and where you think the value is going to end up going.

Yeah, you can say that, because if you want to buy the bitcoins, so anyone can buy it, now bitcoin is not in a high price, but also it is not a less price, because bitcoin is in a medium price, so buy it, but than you should sell your bitcoin less than $700, than it will give you profit. Price is moving up and down everyday creating good profit opputunity if you want to do day trading. Grab few bitcoin and sell them after sometime for small profit per bitcoin and if you can have like 10 bitcoin and more you will be earning good amout daily on every price swing.

Trading is not 100% sure that you can gain a good profit.. if you already made a good profit in your methods in trading just repeat and do the same thing that you can gain more profit of your earnings..

I do not think you should always buy because of the fact that the bitcoin can also fall, I think that the bitcoin has a good future but that its unpredictable.
You never know what will happen with the bitcoin so you also should not invest too much into it.

Even though trading is not an easy way to get profit but base on the price today with bitcoin this is a right time to buy bitcoins because the possibility of pumping is there.

So if you want to get profit in the future you are going to buy bitcoins today and hold some of it and have some allocation on it to buy good alt coins.

I think the price is not getting stable right now and its dropping up and down everyday almost, but most likely it will increase highly after some months, so buying now is profitable if you plan to hold for long term

The good thing with the price stagnating at $600 is there are lots of buying opportunities. If we take into consideration the potential huge upside of the price, it is not impossible to reach another 20% increase easily by early next year. That is not a bad increase in the short term at all.

Yup It will get increase in the future, that all seems to be increase in this end of this year. Why actually is because we use to see to some price increase in the time of christmas and new year. However bitcoin buying is good for future savings due to heavy value potential.

Should you listen to all this people 600 dollar for one bitcoin is allot so i would say dont buy them now it is not profitable becuase he is circling around the 600 dollar the price.

I believe that the price has steadily shifted between $550 and $650 over the past several weeks, so really a person could look at a day to day business model and consider some days bad. 

If you bought in at $600 and saw $550 and had purchased an entire Bitcoin, that would be a $50 loss.  But, the price goes right back up the next day or week and even higher. That $600, down to $550 will then be back to $650 a few days later and that is a $50 profit. 

If someone has the patience, time and does not scare easily or listen to any sayers, then it is pretty nice out there. Just trust and think and predict the future price and act accordingly.

I disagree with this kind of thinking. It is not only trying to create hype but it is also ignoring one key rule in trading. Always look for a bargain and always protect your money. The present price should not be thought of as "cheap" or "expensive" now but rather start thinking of how you can get Bitcoin at a much better price than what is offered now. It would be an irresponsible thing to say "buy now! buy now!" to the people who do not know any better, only for them to find out that it might be a wrong move. Also do we even know if it will pass $1000 in the near future?

if you think theyre too expensive at 600 ,thats your perogative but you  wait for a dip that may never come

Indeed good time to buy is hard to say in a thread cause sometimes the prices change for only a few hours.
Try to find those soft spots where the prices drop for a few hrs and they raise back up theres always a pattern.

I wouldn't call this a good time to buy yet cause I believe prices will crash down further than 600 and it will be 570 atleast.
So if I were you I'd hold on a little longer for maybe a month and if prices didnt crash then buy.

You could still not  guarantee that bitcoin price would somehow crash these  upcoming days or months  . No one really knows , as of todays price is  quite high compared  to   previous weeks  you  have a point we should  wait atleast some days   before we  buy  bitcoin  and  we  must sure to buy  the lowest possible to be profitable.

I smell a possibility for it to come ~$550 that too if something weird comes up, but if not, then definitely it's the best time to buy it because it will surely grow in price as halving happened already and good times are near for bitcoins... ;)

actually that know when a good time to buy is our own. as a trader of course we have learned a lot of experience doing the trade in the past. for example: the current bitcoin price $603 so i was you would waiting buy when the price down to below $600.

I am in it for the long haul because I support the movement and I also believe that cryptocurrencies are the future. Do not get me wrong but the moment we all see that Bitcoin is on its way down I will not hesitate to protect myself and hold some other coin as my "main coin". So I am not all too much hyped on Bitcoin as you are.

If you think Bitcoin will go to $3000 - $5000 then that will be a very long wait. Bitcoin reached and went over $1000 only because of a bot artificially pushing the price up on a constant basis. So in knowing that, there will still be a lot of time to get in and we can still wait for a better price to get into. Getting in a better price would also mean that I could get more Bitcoins for the amount I am willing to spend than blindly getting in at any price like most of the people recommend and do here.

I suppose 600$ is too much to buy BTC. It was less than that about two months ago, so I think it will bacome lower in price again. Better wait for it to drop to 500$ at least. Maybe it is going to take a lot of time, this waiting, but not more than 4 years (next halving). Good luck!

Buy after a big dump fest, that's the best time to buy for me. Check the charts after bitfinex hack. You could have made a fortune out of this. When nobody wants something, that's time when you should buy. You take a bit of risk but no big deal. Bitcoin was 200$ and everyone said that it is dead. Look what happened after.

Indeed the longer you wait with buying bitcoin the more the prices will raise ofcourse so best time to buy is always ASAP.
Although sometimes the prices have a dip you could wait for that dip to happen but if it doesn't happen you wasted alot of money.

If you are trading with small amounts, then the profits are small too, but if you have hundreds or thousands of coins, and buy and sell with 1% profit several times a day, then it's of course a nice thing. That being said, whale traders that generate high volumes are rewarded with lower fees, and thus it means more profit for them.

I believe this is a good to time to add some into your portfoilio. Try to buy some bitcoin every month irrespective of the price. Because timing bitcoin is very hard. The price can change at any time. Volatility is high. This is a good move if you are a long term investor.

Many times asked question, and I still have same answer, everything under 1000 dollars is good price for buying. In years to come price will definitely rise. Be patient, big things doesn't come over night, price already rised a lot from last year.
Don't mix daily fluctuations with price rising, that is normal for bitcoin to go up and down. After this holding on 600 dollars I think bitcoin accumulated enough force for this winter and some new rise before new year.

Well, even you buying bitcoins on $600 USD right now, the price of bitcoin will not change. I mean, the price of bitcoin is stable right now. But maybe it's good for long term investment if you buy now.

It all depends on what your intentions are. If you plan to use your coins for trading purposes only, then you can buy right now without any problems. If you believe in the potential that Bitcoin has, then you can easily buy yourself some coins right now. But if you're looking for a short term investment, then I say it's more 50/50.

I agree with you on this, the price of Bitcoin is relatively stable in the last couple of days and even predictions and announcements have not really made any difference and maybe a major event in the right direction will actually makes it soar higher but now everything is stable. For bitcoin, to the best of my knowledge, every time is a good time to buy but it now depends on how fast you want to ROI as this will go a long way in determining whether you will buy now or not.

This is a good point. If the intention is to trade in and out of altcoins or in and out of BTC/USD to accumulate more Bitcoins then it will not matter at what price you plan to buy. Maybe by doing so you are actually doing both Bitcoin as longterm investment and also as a medium of trading altcoins. But if you intend to hold only for the very longterm then it would not be a bad idea to look for a bargain. The reason for this is you get to buy more Bitcoins for the same amount of fiat money.

the price of $600 is one of those prices like before. for example like the $400 earlier this year. it is stable and no matter what anybody does, it will not go down.

and if it is anything like the past, the price will rise up to $800 very soon after this stable period ended.

I remember considering buying when they were around 15c each, after a recent jump from the 8-10c range. The smart 18 year old me decided that it was a spike and it will go back down and that it looked like too much of a hassle to set up the purchase to bother with it.

We cant really say that thing  when  we are  on  his  situation  back then because we  would still feel the same   because  we dont know   the price of bitcoin in the future   and  might think that you are wasting  on your money  but for those early adopters that  have strong beliefs on bitcoins  are surely  millionaires as of now.

you could bought yourself $100 worth of coins since it is an amount worth risking. it would have paid off considerably if you kept holding till the all time high peak or till now. but who knows, maybe you would have sold them all at $0.50 or so. that basically shows that it's never too late to buy. but you just need to make sure you don't buy into peaks, because this is not 2010 anymore.

We also shouldn't forget recent dump on price after bitfinex got hacked when price was around $700 and now i think price is on the way to go beyond that price range. But there could be many event similar to bitfinex hack in future too, so better not to think price can't go down. Bitcoin price can go anyside anytime however pump over $700 is well predicted and long waited.

People here will say it's good time to buy, price is cheap. Every investment is risky, for investment you need to believe in this. It's individual decision, and before making decision, inform yourself about possible things that can go wrong.

big players have done their hoarding at price levels much lower than what we are at today. current levels are for the average bitcoiners that were doubting in whether or not they should buy. and the motive for each person is important too. most of these people are only interested in a short term investment.

I think this is a very good time to get into bitcoin if you haven't got in already. I don't think we will be seeing sub 600 anytime soon.

yes of course the price has occurred in a few years ago. for me to buy bitcoin is always beneficial. regardless of the current price of bitcoin I think will continue to increase in the future. bitcoin price increases will continue.

Few days ago, precisely on Tuesday when the price start rise it coinciding with the decline in Samsung stock because the withdrawal of samsung galaxy note 7 from the 10 countries. I don't really know is it related to, but anything happen and impact positively on bitcoin would be good for us. Some people here know better about what happened that will affect bitcoin price, but it need big amount of money involved to influence it.
