Post by: Abanomi24 on April 01, 2013, 01:34:25 AM
Okay, just bought a used Dual Core 2 with Nvidia 7300LE driver.  Is this gonna work and how fast?  What do I need to know?

Nvidia GPU's are not well suited for bitcoin mining.

Here's a great StackExchange article that describes why:

Thanks!  Now while I wait for my eBayed ATI card, can I use the 7300 with CUDA?

Don't know if you're missing the news, but GPU mining was yesterday. It's not profitable anymore, and even if it still is for a little change, that's all over in about half a month, when all the ASICs hit the market.
So if you're really spending money on ATI cards, specifically for mining, I hope you're not doing that to turn a profit, because you won't...

If you're just doing it for fun, go ahead

Nvidia doesn't work for mining.

Get Ati 5830s same price as 6770/5770 but faster and cooler

You can still make money mining at $90 per BTC

if it drops because of ASICs, switch to mining LiteCoins, and you still have a decent gaming PC.
