Title: Blockchain Info
Post by: Lorus on September 27, 2016, 12:17:46 AM
Reading through the, What wallets to use thread the majority of people said they thought Blockchain were a good wallet to use.
If I use Blockchain can I buy bitcoins through them and do they have a standard amount you have to buy.
I would just use the wallet to pay for a few things monthly and would only be looking to buy the equivalent of £30 worth of bitcoins a month
can I do this with Blockchain

First of all, don't use blockchain to mention blockchain.info - blockchain.info is a service, while blockchain is the technology that bitcoin runs on. Blockchain.info doesn't let you buy BTC. You will need to use another service to buy BTC. Localbitcoins or pretty much any popular exchange are good choices. They are a pretty good wallet to use, but make sure you make backups and create it in a secure place.

I think no, you can't buy bitcoin on Blockchain. Blockchain is only online bitcoin wallet and you can buy bitcoin on another place but you can send the bitcoin into your wallet in blockchain.

You should stay away from online wallets as you don't truly control the funds.
To avoid this, you should download a trusted wallet software where the private keys (in other words, the control over your coins) are only controlled by you.

There are a few ways to buy bitcoin, the blockchain/blockchain.info is not one of them. You should look into exchanges or other means depending your location.

I think you can use coinbase, the system is more complete than blockchain.info, you can buy bitcoin with deposit usd at coinbase, but coinbase limited support only some bank.
you must check it , are coinbase avaible in your counry or not.

blockchain.info is an easy wallet to use but not a good wallet because it is on the web and online so it is the least secure.

for buying try coinbase, circle or an exchange service like cex.io or localbitcoins

Blockchain.info is one of the better, if not the best online bitcoin wallet and blockchain explorer. But they don't offer buying/selling functionality.
If you want to combine these two functionalities you either need to use service like Coinbase or use blockchain.info as your wallet and pick bitcoin exchange.

Be aware that other online wallets: Xapo, Coinbase have very restrictive ToS, many people got their wallets suspended - for example to gamble.

Nope you cannot purchase Bitcoins on Blockchain.info.

Blockchain.info is just a Online Bitcoin Wallet that simple well...holds onto your Bitcoins online.

If you want to purchase Bitcoins then use an online exchanging company like Circle or LocalBitcoins.

Blockchain.info is a good site to use in my opinion.
You can create a wallet there and manage your coins by this.
It would be smart to activate the 12 words recovery phrase in case that you have to recover your wallet for any reason.
Like the other posts here say, you hev to buy your coins somewhere else.
That usually needs some registration process.

Agree, their name is blockchain.info, blockchain is technology.
Secondly they don't allow buying BTC and have really bad reputation lately.

Use other service to manage and buy btc and use standalone wallet.

blockchain.info is only online wallet, they dont have buy or selling service, if you want to buy or selling you can use coinbase but you should to know coinbase service (buy and sell) is available in your country or not, or you can use localbitcoin service but i never try use their service, blockchain.info is just place you can save your coin
