Title: DDoS war Post by: Coinbuck @ BTCLot on June 13, 2011, 02:11:33 PM Any idea who is attacking the major bitcoin pools ?
Is the same russian dude that attacked Mt.Gox some time ago ? Title: Re: DDoS war Post by: JonathanHiggins on June 13, 2011, 02:15:53 PM And what would be the relevance of such an attack? What are they trying achieve?
Assume i no absolutely nothing about what you mean BTW. Title: Re: DDoS war Post by: NothinG on June 13, 2011, 02:16:56 PM Well, one who controls the big botnet could control the market?
Anyways, It's probably just a few skids who got pissed because they can't afford to mine. ;D Title: Re: DDoS war Post by: tmac3399 on June 13, 2011, 02:26:29 PM It could be done by anyone who wants a competitive advantage in mining. If you run a solo mining factory, and own a botnet, this would be the thing to do (assuming you are evil).

Even if you aren't evil it's a good idea to prepare for attacks.Such as not putting all your assets into 1 pot (deepbit or mtgox...etc). So far, my assets are stuck in one pot. ;D Title: Re: DDoS war Post by: tmac3399 on June 13, 2011, 02:36:03 PM I just switched when the one I use is under attack. The one I switched to didn't seem to pay as much though.
