Title: Which altcoin would you buy to invest a small amount of money?
Post by: MadBishop on September 30, 2016, 06:48:17 PM
Hello guys.

Let me ask you sorry for my bad english.

I'm new here but i have a question yet. Let's start supposing you have something like 25€ (or 25$) to spend in new altcoins. Which one would you buy, and why?

I would like to start buying some "low value" coins and, as a noob, i would love some help in choosing which one should i get to start.

Thanks.

Atm the project with most potential both as profit and technological potential, is ethereum. There's also synereo with alot of profit potential. Haven't really checked too many projects out there, just those with profit prospects. For ethereum, i'd say it can go as value, anywhere between 0.5$ to 50$, depending on the projects / dapps that are deployed on it and overall development. So basically the risk to reward ratio is like 1:3 on average i'd say, at this curent price point, 13,3$ .

I invested in ICONOMI tokenks, this project has bright future and the ICN fund raised more than $10m, but unfortunately the ICO is over now, thus you can't invest, I suggest you wait for ICN buy/sell thread, maybe some bounty hunters want to sell at ICO price, then you can buy some tokens.
another choice is PSB, the price now is 1000 satoshi, while ICO price was 343 satoshi, but it might rise up more, you can buy PSB from cryptopia.

PACCOIN

BACKGROUND
Few know the real meaning behind PacMan the popular arcade game. The developer of the PacMac game hid a secret message about our future. PacMan, the game's primary antagonist is a lonely anarchist eating discs (bitcoins) while being hunted by ghosts (government spooks) in a dark maze (parent's basement). This game deceptively foretold the crytocurrency movement in arcades across the world.  In 2012, the PACCOIN cryptocurrency was launched to pay homage to the PacMan developer, Mr. Toyota Panasonic.

COIN DETAILS

What are you trying to achieve with $25? If I were you I would keep it and buy something I can use in real life like a pair of pants. If you seriously think that you can make thousands from a starting amount of $25 then you are gravely mistaken my friend.

Maybe you can but the odds are all against you.

don't worry dude...
no one can say where to invest
Go to polo track the altcoins and take risk
jump  into the wave of pump and dump
maybe u will loose some bucks but the experience would be worth it

You could play it safe and buy something like Ethereum or Monero
(Hopefully Monero doesn't drop below 0.012 but I think that is about as low as it will go right now.)
You probably won't make much money but you probably won't lose your investment.

Or you could take a risk and invest in a new coin.
You could double/ triple your investment, or you could lose it all.

Depends on what you are trying to accomplish.
Good luck either way!

There are a lot to pick there. You should read some dont just believe everything that they will say here. You go get your proof yourself or you will end up like a dog just waiting for someone to feed you. Cheaper alts are more prone to scams so if I were you I would be monitoring every move if you have already pick one.

COVAL is worth $250,000 peanuts for a platform that has the potential to be massive very soon.

Monero 100%.

Get it while it is hot and relatively cheap....This coin will blowup soon. It has a specific purpose (fully anonymous payments), sound developers, and a good market cap. Only thing it is missing now is a UI wallet and even that is coming...Soon :)

iconomi is the best one so far in this forum if you want too, But if you don't want you can just find another one here also in this forum or you can just find it on the exchanger website :) Ethereum is best one also depends of what you want to trade for good luck.

I would say that going for new altcoins and risking your money currently would not be a good option when this is all you have, instead go for older ones like Monero as it is also a good investment currently and has the potential to rise ahead based on acceptance that it is gaining in dark markets...

low value coins are never a good investment, they can go up and give you a massive profit but they usually never go up at all.

so try to invest in some of the other older and better coins like litecoin which is also going to rise very soon and give you a massive profit.

I have bought coins of ETC of course with small amount and i am ready for lost into them, the reasons is ETC's price is going down around 0.0019-0.002 BTC/ETC and it has potential for growing up to 0.006BTC again, because up today ETC is still sideaway and not yet going up. But it is just my prediction, depend on you what will You doing.

I think we have to stay for a little more time and have to wait for the good time if we can afford to lose, as maybe a good time come and the price increase what you expected.

$25 does not seem enough to expect for good profits in this market, my friend, unless you are patient enough to buy a new coin and wait for several years for a significant price increase. Perhaps it would be a more realistic option to try with altcoins trading with that amount.

I say stay away from the 'low value' coins because they're crappy for the most part.  If you're going to buy any alts, buy the brand name ones, like doge or dash or litecoin.  Less risk I'd say.  You can lose your entire bankroll with some of the other ones a lot quicker.

Yeah ICONOMI is good to buy and those early adopters for that coin is very lucky since they got more icn tokens for such bunos they get, and possible that they can earn more profits for this coin since the money collected by the ICN team is pretty huge and the price is enough to make those investors earn more money with this token.

And also pesobit is my one of favorite coins for now since the price of this coin plummetted for more and became no.1 tradable coin in cryptopia for now.

There are many low value coins which doing fine in markets, you may notice the great progress of Ripple, Stellar, Bitshares, and many others, but you should recognize that trading altcoin is high risk action, and knowing the good coins isn't everything in trading, you should have knowledge, because every cryptocoin ( including Bitcoin) move up and down, and you should expect the right time to buy and sell.

With low value coins, do you mean the market cap (total price of all mined coins) is low?
The individual price of each coin has no meaning (only the derivative of its logarithm is important), bitcoin is worth $610.50 but milli-bitcoin is worth $0.6105, yet it makes no sense to say that bitcoin is a sound investment but milli-bitcoin is not.

as your first lesson, you should never ask this type of questions. you should instead start looking for ways to find these coins yourself to invest in.

try to find coins that are old so they have already passed the initial test of being able to survive a couple of years.

some of these low value coins are dead and will continue dying but some others like Doge are also dead and continue dying but the difference is that sometimes they have a short pump with a big rise but it is hard to profit and risky.

how about other alt coins which has lower value than doge, let say reddcoin (RDD) currently at 7 sat, you'll get more than doge,  ;)

indeed it's stable, but i don't think investing in doge coins is a good idea, because it's took long time for rise.

Buy something that have a really low price also. Monitor it every single hour and if you think you made some out of it then withdraw it. Dont get sucked by the probability that it might rise more. Specially you are just starting so you might want to test it first with a low amount.

But if you have small amount of money, you only able to make small profit so just make sure you're ready for the worst

Before you do invest please check out the coins first and do your research.  If you are looking for coins which are of low value now with potential I am currently backing COVAL which is cheap right now at just under 100, the other is JWL Jewels which is a bit more expensive but you can still pick up a few with your 25.

Good luck

Just get a stable for some weeks and until this day it's not showing good result in their statistic and their volatility is runaways into the another crypto like eth and xmr.... it's bad for buying the doge in this time... but all of that is depend on with the what do you the purpose of your investing.

i think doge is a good choice because for me, doge is like long investment and the price can lifted up in second. beside doge, maybe i will stick with ethereum, dash, litecoin. and for cheap altcoin, i will stick with xdn, bcn, rdd, c2.

The fact is also that you can still mine it nowadays.

Here is my personal choice, without explanation but ordered by priorities : Dash, MAID, AMP synereo, sc (sia) , storjcoin, FCT, sys, Lisk AGRS, bitBay LBC (will look into SingularDTV later but seem interesting).

If you want/search innovation LTC and DOGE are not necessary.

Stay away from Pump&Dump scams (ie: xmr).

Trade at your own risk :)

The most annoying risk for investing at alt coin is just like you said,"Pump and Dump" scam.Waiting for a long period of time and suddenly the price is broke.I don know how to elaborate the feeling for those who already experience this situation.I am still lucky because until now,i still not facing this situation.

I think you need to stay in this forum for long time reading the announcement threads of all ICO projects , and comparing between several ICOs when they hit the trading markets , then you will be able to find which altcoin is a good investment . about the best investment now there are two running ICOs , DECENT and Incent , both are good , you should read the road map and know the partnerships they make , the value of any coin or token comes from its potential future .

COVAL is worth $250,000 peanuts for a platform that has the potential to be massive very soon.

Why is PSB up 400% in October while #1 in volume on Cryptopia ?

PACCOIN

- What is it: to others an abandoned $hitcoin, but to you an exploding rocket ship on the way to da moooon!!!
- Marketcap: unknown, you can be the whale or a shark, or whale with a shark fin
- Price: $4.5e-09 ... so low the coin market cap website is unable to show its amazing price
- Developer: long gone, but who cares?!?!

PAC is at the very bottom of coin market cap -- IT CAN ONLY GO UP, THINK INVESTMENT STATEGY!!!  Only a newb fool would consider this... HIGHLY RECOMMEND, BUY NOW BEFORE OTHER MORON READ THIS!!!

MOON MARS PLUTO GALACTIC SHOT!!!!!!111!1!1

Best Quote of this Tread.

PAC is a very interesting 'experiment' ... and is winning at being the smallest unit of value ... also very abundant (but still rarer than $USD in unit count) ... oddly trades a fair volume.

Depends on your risk tolerance.

High risk might pay off with an eventual 10x or more but more likely to go to zero.

MTR is one I like

If your looking for a safer bet stay with the proven coins.

Ribbit/Coval is one I like here.

i was looking at so many altcoins for a long time and i realized that so many of them are not worth investing in.

i did a little bit of investment in XMR for short term during the rise and enjoyed the profit.

i also wanted to invest in ETH but i stopped myself because it is so expensive right now and it is not worth buying at this price. the risk is high.

none of these big stuff are going to guarantee you any profit. you can see ethereum has the biggest hype at the moment but the price of it is always goin up and then gets dumped down back again.

so you have to always look for the bottom prices to buy instead of looking at the size of the coin's community!

plus the community can be 99% shills.

In my point of view, altcoin which I want to invest a small amount
of money are VTA, Eth, ltc, doge, NCL. These are the coins that
I want to invest in because right now it is at a cheaper price.
When the price double your btc will grow also. You will earn
as much you want to expect in return.

big coin, big volume transaction and big community is not guarantee to make profit. for me, i think i would buy small coin with under in 10k satoshi because in almost two month before now, this type of this altcoin just get jump into high price and we can get big profit with this.

Exactly, swing for the fences! Just be patient and don't dump when you find something else you like. Bag holding has paid off more for me than playing hot markets.

Thanks.

Faircoin. $25 would get you 1000 FAIR at the current price.

Gulden (NLG) is currently one of the coins to watch for. Although it's been in development since a long time, it's undervalued. Gulden is one of the only altcoins that serves to deliver updates in their purposed timeframe.

The only Altcoin that has constant development from Day 1 and has a large userbase that could increase similar to how Bitcoin does is only Litecoin.

in my opinion i think you can consider Monero, it's not too expensive and in this few months there is a lot of improvement in this coin, and the price is keep on rising and the position in marketcap also rising, ethereum is not a bad alt coin but there was a lot of issue regarding to this coin, it's a bit risky but if you dare to try ethereum also a good choice

SO far now its only 2sats nothing to loose if I buy it. But the decision still in the last will be in you.

no matter if i want to invest a small amount or a very large amount, my answer is always the same and i will always look for a good altcoin with he smallest amount of risk and invest in it while the price is low so i minimize the amount of risk i am about to take.

and the list changes every time but coins like litecoin always have a spot in my list.

Well in my observation according to what I read in the bitcointalk update. The altcoin that I could suggest to is the VTY,Why? it is because it has good 5 project plan in the near future and the price right now is too low, it is consider as one of the potential altcoin I can say so far. You can check the forum information at this link: crytowellness.top

I guess the price of the lite coin is so high for those people are just haveing a small amount and that is are not worth in this time, comparing with the pesobit i just want for choosing the pesobit rather than litecoin, and the volatility are not enough for taking a profit in a short time and the demand is already moved into the another coin.

actually the price of litecoin is not high because the higher price for litecoin as far as i know is around 0.008 before the halving of btc and now the price is stable on that price and i think litecoin is for long term investment like dogecoin.

but for last night, i am buying sc, nsr, ltbc and half of that coins is already i selling and i am make a profit with that.

Hey! you can look to invest in Curecoin, Ripple, ICN and SNGLS tokens and hold them for a time period of 5 years and see the gains for yourself. All these tokens have a good team and mission which can help them grow and succeed in the years to come. I would ask you to be a part of it rather than missing them out. Of course, I do hold them and you should do your own study before investing into them. Remeber that I am no expert.
