Title: I closed up BitcoinStarter.com today
Post by: cloverme on October 01, 2016, 07:25:02 PM
All,

I just wanted to provide some transparency here in that I've decided to close Bitcoinstarter.com today because it just didn't do enough business to warrant all the security and services that went into maintaining it. The trend shifted to people starting ICO's and running their own sites and didn't need a crowdfunding platform to help them, everyone else just used indiegogo. No customer funds were held, everything was sent out direct to campaign/project creators at the time of a pledge. For any issues, you're welcome to contact me here via PM or send an email to admin@bitcoinstarter.com. You've been a fantastic community and I'll miss being part of the crowdfunding scene. I'll keep the website active with the note that I've decided to shut down the site for bit. Again, thanks for your support and community help.

That's a shame, you gave it a good go.

Unfortunately the wind is blowing in the wrong direction for simple, honest projects to be community/crowd funded.
The mania for moar moar moar means badly nailed together scams with a predatory MLM funding structure attached (and posing as "crowdfunding") are the Brave New World, G-d help us all.

I think no one came there to get the service because they would not be aware of the system. I myself heard the name for the first time while I am here on this forum from about half a year. Keep in mind that advertising/promotion is the basic tool for to run any business without which business remains fail.

Sorry to hear about this but thank you for your transparency. Lucky that I stumbled on this as I was considering doing something similar in the near future. Guess it's back to the drawing boards again  ;D
Anyway, best of luck on all your future endeavours!

Sorry to hear about this. This was a decent idea but I guess competition in this field is really too fierce. Do not give up, I m sure you ll come up with something else equally good. Good luck.

There aren't much creative ideas in this space I suppose.
