Title: The famous police "Zoomer" Scammed me for $40 bitcoins
Post by: sherpez on October 02, 2016, 06:34:05 PM
This guy "zoomer-bitcointalk" has been bashing all those people for their scams and what not. Now is his turn to scam people after a few successful sales. He asked me for some $20 loan first in btc and said that he will pay in Paypal. Then his so called "paypal transaction" was pending for 30 days because verification failed. Who knows where he got the paypal account. Then he said in order for him to pay back the $20, I must send him another $18 cause there is some minimum amount shit he needs to withdraw from his BTC wallet. After all that, he suddenly blocked me in skype and never replied until now. Below are the conversation in Skype,

For now, please don't trade with Zoomer. thank you

Sighh

If you checked his post hitory he just recently took a loan which mean at the moment he doesn't have any money so why did yoy deal with him?
Sorry for the loss but next time do not easily rely on ranks to see if someone is trusted or not. Accounts are bought and sold everyday and you don't know ho you are dealing with so it is much safe not to trust anyone and always use an escrow even if it is just for a small amount.
Let's see if he'll respond to your thread.

His actions shown he was an untrustful person from the very start.
Caution should be taken when even talking with people such as this. :-X

Yeah so foolish of me. Maybe because he was too honest from the start that made me believed in him. Will learn from my mistakes and hopefully the mods and admins can banned zoomer-bitcointalk or Zoomer from this forum for life.

I see that you've had past trade history with Zoomer. Unfortunately, there were two problems with this trade that I would like to highlight for the next few times that you decide to do any marketplace actions:

1. You were trading for a reversible amount.
  • The problem lies in the fact that PayPal, even if it is sent, can be charged back within 180 days. I know no [sane] escrow would dare to hold that, and that most avoid it unless they're dealing with people they trust. This leads into the second problem.

2. You traded for an amount higher than what you've traded with before
  • There isn't a problem with this every time, but I typically keep all my transactions equal or less than prior ones (unless I trust them greatly or have good reason i.e. escrow). You posted you bought 5 or 6 Netflix accounts from him, yes? At the price of $1.50 each, that's still <$10, where this trade ended nearly quadruple that.

One last point: They're usually scamming if they ask you for more. Request a refund in that scenario. If they're legitimate, then that's too bad. Get them to reach whatever pre-requisites they must have then do the trade at that point. If they aren't, then you just saved yourself some money.

Not to mention the whole loan thing. Probably leaving + defaulting.

Yeah so foolish of me. Maybe because he was too honest from the start that made me believed in him. Will learn from my mistakes and hopefully the mods and admins can banned zoomer-bitcointalk or Zoomer from this forum for life.

That probably isn't likely to happen. Zoomer is more likely to be banned for insubstantial post quality.

All I see is zoomer-zoomer when the OP tries to call, not zoomer-bitcointalk or am I missing something?

I did everything possible to warn everyone!

Hopefully this will be you to really look into who you're dealing with in the future. Just look at my post! It clearly shows that it's a bought account that was farmed for a while, sold off then trust farmed. Please do your due diligence. I'm sorry this happened to you but luckily it was only $40 and not $400. I would have to assume if no one said anything in the beginning he would have been around a little longer and scammed even more.

You should have asked him for collateral before lending him and paypal is mostly used by scammers and you should know that by now

So Zoomer is a cunt, and you called it correctly a few days back.  Hate to say it, but in retrospect the whole scam could be seen coming a mile away.  First step is to identify a turd as turd.  That was done, but apparently no one listened, and this is the result.  Figures.

Does anyone else feel like the only business that gets done on bitcointalk is through the booming scam trade?

My quote from one of the zoomer alt threads and see how accurate it is,

Obviously it's a bought account.I have tagged scammers in bitcointalk even before they scammed. So here's my prediction,Zoomer is a bought account by farming for cheap and soon they will pull out a scam by usin their "hero" member status. If I want to shoot blind arrows,I think they could be an alt of ElMoIsEvil.

That is correct on so many levels mate.Sometimes I feel I should open a thread where members would ask me whether to trade with particular members or not.My opinions would surely help them save a few bucks.Sigh...

That's too bad ,scamming people for quick bucks ,infact the accused guy ruined his hero member account also and I am sure he won't be able to find a good hero account with the amount he has ran away.

Zoomer scammed me as well on September 28th about $30 in BTC. I have transcripts to prove it, and I purchased from his ebay account as well and will be leaving appropriate feedback.

Ah, very nice. Please post everything you have, including the eBay username. If a new alt tries to scam with the same username we'll get him tagged asap. Obviously he's going to change his Skype because he made it just for the zoomer account.

The guy offered to pay you back YOU refused  so that is not a scam.  Albeit, Zoomer was acting unprofessional by withholding it because his feelings got hurt by your communications.

Thank you for this post and warning.  Others who have been scammed, I hope open their own thread.  Although, he's gone and won't be back with that name.  I'm sure he's got plenty of Alt's, I will seek those out.

This should serve as an example to others who deal with users based on their rank without looking at their trust page first.

There are Jr.Members on this forum who are more trusted than Legendary members so rank doesn't matter anymore.

Rank hasnt mattered at ALL since people were able to buy accounts .

All it takes is the biggest scammer buying a legendary account and BOOM ! !

Stop the sale of accounts ( yeah yeah i know its hard ) and the rankings will matter more .

It's not the rank fault but how the trust system works here. This is by far the forum which has the dumbest trst system . People rely with rank because it is how MOST high ranks in here make lower rank feel. If you want to avoid being scammed you start it with your self.

mammabitcoin if you dont know the history of the scam then please dont comment.

He told me when i first contacted him he would NEVER EVER send me one cent .

I told him i would open a scam accusation and leave negative feedback hand he says GOOD and I would STILL never see one cent.

After i put it up he messaged me saying i was this and that and i would STILL not recieve one cent .

BUT after so much bad publicity he decides he DOES want to refund me .

Get the picture ? ? Good

Maybe try LBC and use the built in escrow.

He was trying to get good rates. If he were to use LBC, he could still get scammed. PayPal is reversible, after all.

Take care guys and if someone offers you a reimbursement, take it.

that has nothing to do with it.. you all been told or should have done your homework.
I first seen reports here from 2012 showing Paypal freezing accounts and seizing funds.
Because you are NOT allowed to use crypto-currencies with Paypal.

So if you do it you are a fucking idiot.

And i have used LBC lots and never got scammed.. some had tried but i laughed at them.
Simple.. don't release the coins until you been paid in full.

Paypal being reversible is completely irrelevant.

Yeah.. you are fucking idiots if you break the rules and get caught then have your money seized.
And it's pretty scammy of this site to allow this behavior and not even warn users too.

And trust me PP is aware of this site.. i told them to come here hahahhaha
So.. i am sure they are watching all you fuckheads and nailing you all one by one eventually.
