Title: Is it against forum rules to buy bitcointalk account? Profitable?
Post by: someone111 on October 04, 2016, 12:37:41 AM
Is it against forum rules to buy bitcointalk account? I don't want to buy one and then have it deleted by admins.

I would use escrow of course.

Is it profitable? I want to calculate how much a lets say legendary account is and then see how long I would take to earn it back by joining signature campaigns.

Oh. And I wouldn't mind the account being flagged as sold. Actually, I would do it myself. I would not want to see myself in a mess like BitcoinExpert is at the moment with the declouds scam.

I don't think this should be asked here, but I never understood that. Couldn't someone buy their way back? On a different forum, they're against it 100%. If you sell your account 100% IP ban.

It's allowed here.
Just look at my thread.
I give accounts but once out of my possession they are in the account holders hands. :)

No. The forum does not support it and they don't ban it either. It is just frowned upon by majority of the members.

It depends on how many constructive posts can you contribute since all the signature campaign requires quite some post to get paid. The quality of the account matters a lot, many campaigns are not willing to accept accounts that has bad posting history.

Sure. Just be reminded that a bought account is usually an indication that the person have other accounts. Since it is bought, the quality of the previous posts would not be indicative of the future post quality.

I would strongly recommend you to create your own accounts and participate in the forum actively. That way, you can learn more about Bitcoins and possibly earn some money when you are able to participate in signature campaign.

It's a real struggle to find good discussions here. the same old centenarian posts keep getting bumped with the same old comments, and new clones keep appearing. If sig spamming was discouraged, I'm sure this would change.

Some signature campaigns care exclusively for exposure and only that, i.e. the number of views their signature gets and the number of times it appears on every page. They don't care if a user wearing their signature gets banned for spamming (e.g. getting caught with copying posts of other users means an instant life-time ban), since his place is quickly taken by another poster, sometimes even more spammy, lol. A few such campaigns (I won't call their names) continue for many months, and they seem to be effective at attaining their ends, whatever these ends might be...

So sig spamming may actually get encouraged in some cases

No it is not against the forum rules to buy or sell accounts. But most members dislike it when you buy or sell accounts. Some people make profit off doing it, but not many. Over time, not many people want to buy Bitcointalk accounts.

it's not againts with rules in Bitcointalk, so you won't get banned for selling/buying a Btctalk account.

Yes, exactly. We are ever seen someone bought high ranked account (either it just neutral trust or has green trust) for scamming other people.

There is nothing wrong with buying a high ranked account as long as the reason(s) you are buying it is/are for honest purposes. I don't blame a newbie for buying a Hero account for better signature campaign pay, of course their posts should still be constructive though.
