Title: Naughty America Productions and DECENT Cooperation
Post by: Bitcoin Expo 2014 on October 07, 2016, 04:50:39 AM
what a big whale! :) :)

Geneva, Switzerland, September 20, 2016 – Swiss Blockchain Company DECENT and Naughty America, one of the major adult content production companies in the USA, agreed today to work on a pilot project that will implement progressive Digital Rights Management (DRM) by utilizing the most recent advancements in Blockchain Technology, Digital Video Fingerprinting and Cryptography.
The aim of this collaboration is to create a next generation content distribution platform in the adult video industry – which is plagued by illegal content sharing and concerns about privacy. And set a new bar in the future of digital content distribution systems by bringing in Blockchain technology for Intellectual Property (IP) protection and privacy into the current technology mix.
Whether it’s interactive motion-controlled video, biofeedback, 360 or 3D video, the adult entertainment industry looks to perfect and broaden the commercialization of new technologies. Naughty America is no stranger to innovation – they are an adult industry leader – as their Virtual Reality (VR) content already works on Samsung Gear VR, Oculus and Vive and they already have their own VR headset, a variation on the Google cardboard headset.
Ian Paul, CIO of Naughty America, said:
“Fighting piracy and protecting privacy are key priorities for Naughty America. Decent offers us the ability to accomplish both at the same time due to the technology's level of security, transparency, and inalterability of records."
Video and music production and distribution companies across the world are constantly trying to find an effective solution of copyrights infringement. A solution that would ensure protection of their business and clients while being interesting for their customers and audience. But Blockchain companies working on the current problems in the video content industry are far and few between.
Digital video fingerprinting is a process in which a software identifies unique components of a video file that serve as its “fingerprint”. The technology uses characteristic features such as motion changes, colour or key frame analysis for identification. As a result of the unique approach that DECENT’s underlying technology implies each piece of content will be tracked and secured in the network from the moment it is created and uploaded, effectively preventing piracy on the network.
“In comparison to what is widely used today – hash coding, can only determine a completely equal or unequal file, the DECENT system will distinguish between genuine and copied content using detailed analysis of file’s characteristics,” said Matej Boda, co-founder of DECENT. "We look forward to exploring the huge potential
of Blockchain technology in combination with current industry solutions along with Naughty America in the upcoming pilot project."
DECENT and Naughty America are determined to develop an efficient distribution system that will benefit the content producers as well as its end users. The goal is to find a thorough solution for copyrights violation and recreate the content distribution processes worldwide.

I don't know if it's good collaboration.
But maybe it will be a good news when peoples know that porn can be a new commodity for decentralized business.

There are so much free porn on the internet, that companies like this will surely have to be on the front line of innovation to be able to sell there content. I cannot see how this technology would stop pirates? It will be interesting to see what they will be doing with this, because other non-porn related content, could also benefit from this.

It still cannot solve the problem with free porn, making up the large majority of available porn on the internet. ^hmmmm^

I really do not get how the combination of a blockchain and the digital fingerprint of a video can stop copyright violations.
And I do not understand as well why porn industry is the first to make such a collaboration.
I would think that if that really could work, Hollywood would be more interested and could bring much more money along.
Has anybody more knowledge about this?

DRM is shit and "fighting piracy" is just a term for infringing on everyone's rights and turn the Internet into some fascist wet dream.

Hey but it's their money they can waste it the way them want.

The partnership between bitcoin/blockchain and the adult industry can be huge and bring lots

of benefits for both.Using blockchain technology for fighting the online piracy is a good idea,i guess.

This is good news.

Same thoughts here. I don't know how they make sure for saving privacy and keeping users anonymous. I think for this Purpose the internet is already have bunch of VPN and Proxy changers.

But what I like is. this news may attract more people to invest in decent ICO and that's what I want. because I am also an investor of them and want to see them successful.  ;D ;D ;D

Sounds hilarious.

Digital media doesn't stay digital, as it needs to meet analogue eyeballs or eardrums at some point. And hence DRM doesn't work, so this is likely the biggest snakeoil waste of money this company has ever spent.

These people really need to work on understanding exactly what happened to change content distribution so much. They need to work really hard, because it's beginning to get painful having to witness these copyright-tards publicly thrashing around in agony.

It is a great partnership for Decent platform and users because it is going to provide decentralised contents to users and help Decent platform expand their scope

Pornography is a sin, and cooperating with a sin makes you a sinner. I don't want to promote that kind of mindstyle. Goodbye DECENT !

I just a decent part but i'm not enough for agreeing about this decision. So just waiting about the result of the partnership. may if will pull the popularity of bitcoin that's good. if may in the adult tuber's community.  ;. but how the system is used by them against the piracy? this is will be the another good topic next time.

I think that digital property rights should be brought down, like all forms of intellectual property rights.
Forbidding people to share information goes against the deepest forms of human interaction.
(thinking that having fun with sex is a sin, does so too BTW...)

How do you suggest that musicians, song writers, designers and others make a living? Why should people bother innovating? Open source and royalty free are great and have their uses and benefits but they cannot be the whole story.

I for one am quite happy to pay 1$ for a track, or 10$ for a 3d design etc.

What we should ensure is that there is a functioning market for IP. Not one that exists currently for the benefit of monopolists and cronies.

How do you suggest that musicians, song writers, designers and others make a living?

Because someone wanting a song hires them to write a song, or to sing.  Like theatre actors play classical (IP free) pieces.  Like an electrician is making a living by installing wires in houses, and doctors are making a living by curing people.   And because they like it and do it for free.

By far most income of IP doesn't go to their inventors, but rather to people profiting from inventors in a hierarchical exploitation mechanism.  Engineers inventing stuff in a company get a salary, that has nothing to do with the income that that company and their share holders will generate from owning that IP.

Quote
Why should people bother innovating?

Because someone pays them to find a solution to their problem they'd like to get solved.  Once the solution is known, then we can move on to the next problem, instead of creating artificial scarcity.

There are two fundamental sources of "undeserved wealth".  These are intellectual property, and owners of natural resources.  When you look at the big fortunes in the world, they come from these two things, which are NOT related to production of wealth, but rather to an introduction of artificial scarcity.  Natural resources are everybody's and so their value should go to everybody ; intellectual property is making something that is free of cost (sharing knowledge) into a scarce product.  They are the levers of unlimited wealth transfers to their owners, unrelated to the production of further scarce goods and services.

They will still be able to make a living. Remove the power of record companies, people will probably be exposed to more music, and buy artist who do it for the art and not the fame and being rock stars.
