Τι είναι το bitcoin και τι μπορεί να προσφέρει στοχεύοντας κυρίως φοιτητές αλλά και άλλους.

Από το link:

Scope: The emergence of bitcoin as a digital virtual currency in 2009 upset the financial and technical worlds, as it provided a decentralized means to securely perform financial transactions without the need of a third party (i.e. a bank or any other institution). These transactions are recorded on a globally available public ledger, known as the blockchain, which forms the crucial backbone of bitcoin. In fact, the underlying technology of the blockchain can also be used for other innovative applications and scenarios, some of which are currently under development. While it is still debatable whether bitcoin or its successors will ever make physical currency obsolete, there is no doubt that blockchain-based technologies will revolutionize the way we conduct business over the Internet in the future.

In this event, we ask an exceptional group of invited speakers from academia and industry to provide their expertise on the design, evolution and future applications of bitcoin and blockchain, covering both technical and entrepreneurial aspects of the problem. Targeting an audience of university students/graduates as well as other members of the ICT and financial industry, our goal is to dispel some of the common myths regarding bitcoin/blockchain and point out challenges and opportunities that a bitcoin/blockchain entrepreneur and researcher must face in a rapidly evolving global environment.
