Title: Broken PCI-E Edge connector!! Post by: zdavidi on April 01, 2013, 04:14:29 PM So, I dropped my 5970, and the last few rails for the edge connector that goes into the PCI-E slot are broken off.

I have tried google, and found a few interesting things, nothing really definitive...but is this card salvageable? Found a counnector pinout, it would seem as though I could almost bypass, or ignore those last few channels? Title: Re: Broken PCI-E Edge connector!! Post by: MysteryMiner on April 02, 2013, 12:26:50 AM It will work. My DFI UT P45-T3RS had only half of pins populated in 2nd full-size PCI-E slot. This means even if not broken will never make contact if card is inserted in that slot.
