Title: Interest for Hosted S9
Post by: MyRig on October 10, 2016, 01:59:47 AM
Interest Check...

How many of you are interested in Hosted S9 that is for 12-month hosting term with real time pool change feature and status monitoring?

S9 can be reclaim for shipping to address in USA for $75-80 per unit (lower 48 states) after the hosting.  Early Termination available with some penalty in fees.

depends on how many units total via Group Interest, open for suggestion on per unit S9 hosting price.  11.8T model or 12.9T model

Broken units be repaired/replaced while in hosting.  (Except certain uses will void free repair options)

Maybe I could do a few.
I need clear terms.
Cost of unit
Cost of power
Psu cost
Free repairs for the year.
I used to have multiple miners hosted by Li in China.

I have been disappointed in s9 reliability so the idea of them hosted and not having to deal with repairs and Rmas could work.

A 12.93 uses say 1400 watts or 24 x 1.4 = 35 kwatts a day or 1050 kwatts a month or 12600 kwatts a year
So what would this cost?

I might be interested aswell depending on the costs of the contract

Registering interest depending on cost of unit and pcm hosting costs.

Not sure what this means:

Broken units be repaired/replaced while in hosting.  (Except certain uses will void free repair options)

Seeing as you are hosting them, what certain uses would you be doing that would void free repair?

pointing miners to altcoin mining, multi pools, renting hash powers can cause frequent disconnect due to frequent reset or block times on found blocks every few minutes, sub-let customers misconfiguring miners to their pool and leave units fully energized but hanged.  Will fully support major pools to include Kano and CKSolo.

cost wise, looking at $60/kw if we provide full repair/replacement while in hosting for the duration.  (can't cut too much corners in expense)  If we cut corners a little bit, may be able to go down to $55-$57/kw then add cafeteria style options for right to change pool realtime, VPN, SMS/email stats notification every x hours and so on.  Paypal/Amazon payment accepted as well as BTC for payment options and such.  Other option be to reduce monthly cost and have Pay-Per-Repair on flat fee basis as incident occur.  (some may get lucky but some may be unlucky this is why socialized the expense idea comes)

I understand $60/kw may not be competitive, however, trade off is no need to worry about dead unit as it will be repaired or replaced in 1-2 days most of the time.

PSU be looking at rental style as if it burnt out, we have to replace it to keep you hashing anyway.

The cost factor be different in long term stable power draw to be most cost effective vs frequent ship-out request and changing power draw every months to end up higher power cost.

$60/kw

i guess a month? so about 80-85USD/mo for one S9?

12-months is too much what is the penalty for early termination?

I crunched some numbers.

If growth is 2 percent.
If you mine at Kano.is
If a kwatt is 60 bucks.

If coin price stays at 615.

The 12 th miner will earn about 2100 usd

So if you are charged 1370 + 78  month for power you are at 2306 + 94 for psu rental your cost is 2400

Add 75 for machine to get sent to you 2475 - 2100 = 375 and a one year old machine.

So if the offer was 1370 up front + 1030 over 12 months it would be a borderline offer at best.

If I use PayPal credit and you charge 5% it is 1370 + 68 or 1438 up front.

I am not sure what you want for the deal.

But current price for a 12th is 1370.

Let us know what prices are.
Most likely I will do one or two just because.

So you'd lose 375 in that year?

Title: Re: Interest for Hosted S9

So you'd lose 375 in that year?

you would get the miner  so 375 is not lost.

As to what the miner would be worth a year from now I have no idea.

also remember I used 2% growth

and flat btc price.

so if growth is 3% and btc is  flat it is worse.

if growth is 2% and btc jumps to 750 it is good.

the real value to the deal is you have no repairs and you can buy with paypal.

I have paypal credit line of 8000  so I could take 6 months to pay. No payments no interest. this has some attraction for me.

I can hold my coins and get more coins with nothing out of pocket over the next 170 days.

But my numbers may be a lot lower then he charges us.  he may want 1400 for the miner or 1440   I don't know.  As I am not an insider to pricing.

No one really knows what a s9 costs to build and ship from China to USA.
None of us know the exact deal bitmaintech and bitmainwarranty have.

So far bitmainwarranty has never priced lower then bitmaintech.

So the 12th miner at bitmaintech = 1370 + shipping.

Ahhhhh....  yes.  Thank you ...

I would most likely be interested in this at the right pricing.

yes...  selecting the right price is a hard one, as anything below $60/kw, most of the meat on the bone is stripped but still looking into options!

Units be hosted in Iceland to keep the hardware last longer in clean filtered air environment vs warehouse unfiltered with a few months of hot summer to using space in Canada but GST (like VAT/Tax) to consider for below $57/kw pricing, vs Venezuela and other south american countries where electricity is low in exchange of highly unstable political situation with highly unstable electricity to Country or Georgia where all legal but shipping fee is not so cheap that kills.

WHAT FEATURE everyone wants to see the most?

Well Li's group in China had the ability to let you sell / transfer  say I have 2 s9's  and want to have only 1  I could ask in the posted thread  did anyone   want to buy me out.

I think  that was unlocked after a 90 day hosting.  I sold mine to other buyers via pm told Li and Then Li would do  transfer  been a while since I belonged with Li's group.

It is important to be able to allow buyer/hosted a way out of contract in a way that  you the hoster does not get screwed and me the hostee does not get screwed.

I think the 90 day lock in and then a transfer fee if you sell keeps you sound and the guy that you are hosting sound.

the new guy gets a 270 day contract vs a 360 day contract .

Like for me if I were to order 2, 3, 4 units use paypal pay a 4-5% fee to you for paypal use.  Paypal would allow me 6 months no interest no fees.

So I may hold the gear for 3-5 months and then look to transfer it rather then cancel. I would have a chance to get more coins without dealing with coinbase.

So I guess I am asking for a chance to transfer/sell  the gear to a new person after 90 days. For some kind of fee.

Ownership change is very easy to deal with!

Thank you for the point!

Following.

Phillip has done a great job explaining the calculations and what we (miners) need in order to consider this. If BTC price continues to rise, this seems like a good option for we small miners to get in on the S9.

I would also be interested in this if the 'Brand C' machine continues to be vaporware...  So would my wife, I'm sure, getting the jet engines out of the house.  Besides, anything that Phil gets involved in is usually vetted pretty damn well!

I'd be in for 1 at the start.

Another question be, how often do user want to change pool?

easier and more stable to operate as set the username and let it be vs constant pool change as needed.  Both can be done but does everyone want to pay for all in one package or cafeteria style?

Power and Internet  (i can hear someone will say do not want to pay the 2nd backup like)
Ability to transfer Ownership
Ability to shipout unit in less than 12 months (at additional fee)
Ability to Change Pool
Ability for VPN (this we can not offer free repair while in hosting as we do not have full control of the hardware)
Basic Customer Support or Fast Line Support Desk
Option for repair/replacement while in hosting (if something goes wrong with the unit) vs paid per repair
Status Reporting to email every xx hours
Nice Data Center Hosting vs Cheaper Warehouse Style Hosting

anything else to add?

Personally, I'd set a Primary and Secondary pool, and leave it be.

Noted!

For hosting, shipping fee is one thing we see no way to avoid.  original shipping to be deployed, and another shipping from the hosting place to customers.

Personally, I'd set a Primary and Secondary pool, and leave it be.

I don't want Vpn.  If I recall Li porvided a website and it got hacked.

About. 1000 s-7s were shifted to someone else's pool.

For me I use four pools

Kano.is
Bravo-mining
Mmpool.org
Ckpool solo

If it takes off I will most likely buy two and just set and forget my pools.

The ability to sell/transfer is big for me.

Like I said I would use PayPal with six months no payment no interest and then transfer to a buyer in month five.

The free repair is big.
And a support desk in case I have to switch pools or gear goes down.

Thanks again

I'm interested. Do you ship the miner overseas after the contract is over or you can help resell the miner?

Interest Check...

How many of you are interested in Hosted S9 that is for 12-month hosting term with real time pool change feature and status monitoring?

S9 can be reclaim for shipping to address in USA for $75-80 per unit (lower 48 states) after the hosting.  Early Termination available with some penalty in fees.

depends on how many units total via Group Interest, open for suggestion on per unit S9 hosting price.  11.8T model or 12.9T model

Broken units be repaired/replaced while in hosting.  (Except certain uses will void free repair options)

quoting for reference. Already hosting at gekko, ability to sell used hardware and free repair options would be a blast. Cut electricity tho..........

Running number for À la carte style, as each has different need, and to cater all, support expense alone will be way out the roof.  Crunching lowest option and anything else be added as optional pick.  so you may be able to pick, lowest cost= higher risk, highest cost = ants on silver platter

Sounds like a solid approach to this.  We can pick what options work best for us, and hopefully that brings you more customers!

Electricity can not be too cheap, but looks like we will deploy them then make announcement for pricing.

Will have a few S7 and S5 for someone who wants to Solo Mine for fun as well

Hey, electricity can be cheap if people with different ideas, lets say electrical and computer engineers come togther and put their individual knowledge to make a whole, they can of course come up with a way that can make electricity very cheap. Renewable energy resources and solar and wind energy are gaining popularity along with bitcoin mining. Hopefully more inventions based on them may make bitcoin somewhat cost effective in near future.
