Title: It's all one big scam people... Monero dead now.
Post by: mikewirth on October 10, 2016, 07:47:09 AM
lol!  Suckers keep falling for this same ol' shit...

Monero reeked with a stinky kind of bullshit smell from the beginning.  Now, it is clear it is just another clever pump-and-dump.  Another one, just like that other one.

Nothing to see here, move along.

Update: Since this article's publication, AlphaBay has responded that they are up and running, that interruptions in Monero transactions were due to a software upgrade.

This is old news.
Even after the drop, Monero is worth 4x of what it was before the rise began.
Those who manage to spot Monero's potential have made money.

If you entered monero train just from the top price and expected it to go higher, then you are a fool.

It doesn't work that way. You should have bought it way before the pump. And how would you know that? That's the thing. You don't.

These alts are nearly always a piece of absolute crap. You have to get in uber early or not bother at all. The thing is in their very early days most people aren't willing to invest what it'd take to get serious profit. Sure some people do really well out of these things but I guess the majority crash & burn.

Even those who crashed in late can still make some decent profit if they are willing to wait for like a year.
The thing about coins is that they all have peak periods, the gap between these peak periods is what freaks out lots of traders.

Old news, and not entirely legit ones, but good enough to make the price plummet around the date it was published. I will only say that i have never had
problems with mymonero being unresponsive, and all my balances are intact like always.

btw i wouldn't trust cointelegraph articles too much, it's not the first time they publish bs, but use your own two eyes to reach conclusions.

This should be in Altcoin discussion.

And aren't there more markets accepting Monero? Still, I think Monero is not yet suited for those darknetmarkets due to the price fluctuations and the possibility that sellers could lose a lot of value while funds are in escrow.

But then again, this was also the case with Bitcoin in the beginning, so this shouldn't stop adoption too much.

Here's a protip for anyone looking to invest into Monero, always watch /r/darknetmarkets closely to see if large vendors or markets start accepting Monero, big news like that could be followed by a sudden rise in value.

You are right! All of the coins has a peak price which is really high price! that could brought us a lot of profits but after that big dump happens and following is a stable price! Small pumping and big dumping which is you can earn also profit on that but not really big.

Hey, not so fast!
Problems with a darknet market doesn't automatically mean there are problems with monero.
Although, this topic belongs to the altcoins section, you can't say it's over for this cryptocurrency.

And even then you can easily lose your shirt, pants, and zebra print g-strap.  There is no guarantee that any shitcoin pump is going to go your way.  Look at the goddamn Yobit boneyard of shitcoins that went to 0.00000001 BTC.  There are many.  This is straight up gambling with no logic or rationale behind the creation and price movements of these shits.  I totally stay away from them.  Rarely, I'll buy something like Dash or Doge, both of which have (relatively) large user bases, and somewhat stable prices.  The other ones can suck the big one.

I call bullshit on those numbers..... again  ::)

You shills keep popping up saying shit like that and not one with PROOF.

On average a Canadian savings account you would earn $75 in a year with the recommended minimum.. $5,000
Which would be GUARANTEED.

vs Altcoins where you are gambling and may suffer a massive loss causing you to bag hold another year.

Few coins go up in a year and stay there.
As best i can tell Monero has done fuck all price wise.. like all other coins since 2013 time period.
Feel free to compare to other coins that are reasonably comparable.

The reality is Time is money.
So your cash tied up in something had better pay off.

Me ? I'd rather go to a Casino and play Black jack than buy shitcoins and sit on them for a year.
Then i'd have to come here and spew bullshit all day long to pad my bags.
How else do you win a shitcoin ponzi popularity contest ?
Be a spammy shill pushing the bullshit meter to the fucking limit that is how.. for bucks ..REAL Bucks $$$ Cash money / FIAT

Monero is not dead, it just went down for a while. It will come back up again, bitcoin was around $350 last year, now it's more than $600.

Actually one can do much better with a Canadian Chequing account 359.40 CAD per year on a 5000.00 CAD deposit simply by saving the 29.95 CAD a month fee and depositing the said amount in a savings account each month. Furthermore this amount is tax free. https://www.tdcanadatrust.com/products-services/banking/accounts/chequing-accounts/all-inclusive.jsp (https://www.tdcanadatrust.com/products-services/banking/accounts/chequing-accounts/all-inclusive.jsp).

Of course one has now created a source of income for very high risk investments for example by investing the difference 284.4 CAD  between 359.40 CAD and 75.00 CAD in very high risk investments where the most probable outcome is complete loss of funds. Anyone care to calculate for example what 23.70 CAD invested in say XMR over say the last two years would be worth today? Furthermore one still has the 5000.00 CAD principal and the 75.00 CAD per year "interest" with the no tax payable on the "interest"

Let's face it guys. Every totally anonymous, untraceable and unable to be 'legalized' coins have no future with the main customer market.

It will be ever outlawed and pushed away as criminal coin by mainstream. Monero unfortunately is one of these coins.

It will remain currency of some black markets, and we all know that no black market is lasting for long.

Its just a normal thing for a crypto  to pump and  dump  big time and for sure  to those people who engage on it  on earlier time  have make decent  profits compare to those  who  bought  on  peak price then  i assume they  have  lose  such amounts and  we  cant really avoid this things on  crypto world  trading.

Many people are in for a rude shock on the subject of which crypto currencies are actually compliant with regulations and which are at a very serious risk of adverse regulatory enforcement. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=753252.msg16520170#msg16520170 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=753252.msg16520170#msg16520170) When it comes to governments and regulators the first step is to actually read the guidance they put out rather than just make wild assumptions. This FinCEN guidance, https://www.fincen.gov/sites/default/files/shared/FIN-2013-G001.pdf (https://www.fincen.gov/sites/default/files/shared/FIN-2013-G001.pdf), has been out for over three years. Ignore it and make assumptions at your own risk.

After reading the guidance one understands why Monero is among the safest crypto currencies from the perspective of legal and regulatory compliance.

Edit: ICO means very high risk from the perspective of legal and regulatory compliance.

If it has happened once it has happened a thousand times and will continue to happen, Bitcoin is the only coin of value, Litecoin is the only altcoin, end of.

Agreed on almost everything you said, except Dash. Like we don't remember some details surrounding its launch. :) And let's face it, Dash was pumped many times.

i think monero is not dead for now, but yes the price is getting down and its time for down trend. better you buy another coins to make another profit. but if you have many monero, i think you can make lending for traders so you can grow your monero into another amount and finally when the price is up, you can sell all of your monero to make a good profit.

Let's face it guys. Every totally anonymous, untraceable and unable to be 'legalized' coins have no future with the main customer market.

Of course not.  The only thing that can reach "main consumer market" is a government-regulated, elite-scammed currency.  You already have that: fiat.  It is the only thing that can get "main consumer market" acceptance.  No crypto ever will, because a crypto is much more hassle, *especially* because it is not supposed to be centrally controlled.  Once you allow for central control, there's no need to go for crypto, and crypto has only disadvantages.  The only thing that works well centrally, is what we have now: fiat.  What makes crypto different from fiat is that it is not centrally controlled, and that is exactly what states don't like about it.

So, if you want to be law-abiding, stay away from crypto all together.   As will the main consumer market always do.  So "will not be accepted by the main consumer market" is valid for every non-centrally controlled crypto, whether anonymous or not.

The *only* thing crypto is useful for, is to do stuff governments don't like (to different degrees).  That will only become "main consumer market" if ever we get rid of government all together.

In as much as a crypto can be legalized, it loses its purpose (except as a betting token in the toolkit of professional financial gamblers).  Maybe one day governments will issue legal things that look from afar like crypto.  But it won't be crypto, because it won't be distributed and non-regulated.  It will just be another kind of fiat, with some technology taken from crypto.  That's the only thing that ever will go "main consumer market" as long as there are governments around.

Crypto is not meant to go "main consumer market" but to have a tool to have economic freedom without government, whether hidden, or whether because people got finally rid of it.  So the idea that crypto should comply to government demands to go mainstream is ridiculous.

You could just as well require terrorists to have a work permit for their actions.

XMR is done like dinner, even if pump again it will never be accepted as real world usage.
This is why I love WBB dev direction as he is GOING for biz/customer usage :)
