Hey guys,

We've started developing plugin for Chrome & Firefox that will highlight bitcoin address on the page. If you point at it, addon will ask for the amount of bitcoins, that you need to spend to buy smth. and will automatically calculate amount of USD that is needed to be paid for the goods. If you are agree, you ll be forwarded to a payment page, where amount and bitcoin wallet address are already entered. So you won't even need to create a bitcoin wallet to make purchases over the internet with bitcoins.

What do think about it and what other features could be implemented within such an addon?

this is really a great thing and Idea you guys working on.. can't wait to see it alive.

give a demo period of software to users to use it for free and understand. you can give a 7 day or 15 day demo version of Plugin.

thanks for your feedback! The plugin will be absolutely free for users. Only if you need to pay with bitcoins somewhere, you'll be forwarded to the payment page to enter the credit/debit card details.

You have to be very careful with this, because there have been viruses and malware that exploited the copy & paste function and injected their own Bitcoin address, when it detects that you are using the copy & paste option on Bitcoin addresses. < Hope that makes sense >

You have to add a warning text, for people to double check their address to confirm that the copy & paste option was not hijacked in any way. ^hmmmmm^

I don't understand clearly what you are trying to do, what happens after we have been forwarded to a payment page and whose payment page is that any gateway or is that yours?

Is that payment page accepts bitcoin as payment or some fiat?

This seems good idea from first look, but just think on Web page with this plugin safety - I do not think, you can do this plugin safe enough. There are so many viruses and malware all around. Even developed anti virus companies spend a lot of money for developing good antiviruses and even then sometimes fail  ;)

Well they can always bypass in-browser wallets and only provide for plugins to trusted on-line wallet providers. The problem with that

would be that people would have to know about these services and then they need to signup for these services, before they use these

plugins. I would like a browser plugin, directly connected to my Treazor hardware wallet... thanks.  ;D

I remember snapcard.io used to offer this exact service. They'd allow you to buy any product using BTC when on the product page. They'd do this by getting the live BTC/USD exchange rate and giving you the price according to the live rate. However, they stopped offering this service a while back. I'm not sure why but it could have been down to legislation or lack of profitability (or something totally different). It'll probably be a good idea to look into this first before continuing with your development.

Maybe you could try to look at the Brave browser then add on their features to your project.

If I'm understanding this correctly, you're talking about a plug-in for your own service, right? So your plug-in will allow the customer to pay you in USD to act as a middleman between him/her and the merchant? Is that correct?




Your post is irrelevant, as you can say the same thing about any software. You're pretty much suggesting that everyone should just go back to living in the Stone Age since progress is doomed to fail. Sig spam perhaps?

How do you make sure it's a bitcoin address only? Could be any string 16 characters or a multi si address ? Have you tested it out on these use cases? Btw,do you think people will really trust a 3rd party bitcoin related app as their browser extension ?

Honestly,having a hard time understanding the concept.What if I'm on a page like bitcointalk where all the pages have bitcoin addresses ? I'm not here to buy anything simply pointing at the address would be useless for your app.In case I'm willing to buy something,you said I will be redirected to a payment page,what page is this ? Who made it ? How will I store bitcoins on that page ? Am I missing something ?

I think this something like ads. Is that correct?. When user click will redirect to products/goods page. Here in page buy/sell goods will taking place with BTC. It seems disturb user to browse with chrome or firefox. Nevertheless it's good idea to implement addon plugins via browser.

Look like a good idea however your platform need to perform buying process instant so that the payment will be reached to the targeted bitcoin address within time limit some of the third party bitcoin payment solution like bitpay have in their payment window. Also idea of giving some discount in fees for the one who will get into your buying page through browser plugins will be great.

I don't really see how this will work. All you're doing is scraping the page for a bitcoin address and an amount, then being a payment middleman. Horrible idea.

The plugin will be used by people who need to buy smth. on the internet with bitcoins but don't have crypto at the current moment. Addon will highlight the bitcoin address of the online store. If you point, it will ask if you would like to buy X bitcoins and send them to the above mentioned address. Then you will be forwarded to a payment page, enter card details and since the payment is completed, bitcoin are sent to online store.

What would be cool is to develop a chrome extension bitcoin wallet.  Whenever I open a bitcoin uri, I can choose to pay it directly from the chrome extension.
