It is a dutch cryptocurrency. With Gulden you send money to each other, wire it to any IBAN account, pay at Gulden or Bitcoin merchants and enjoy a very healthy return. I must say that Gulden is a solid investment!

Most people here will tell you only Bitcoin.
Some might own Ethereum and the rest isn't really worth mentioning.

Well for me that would go like that

1 Bitcoin
2 Bitcoin
...
9 Bitcoin
...
999 Bitcoin
etc.

I don't see ANY reason to get involved with any other crypto, its like copy paste from bitcoin with minor changes without computing power that makes it secure.

It will not, because DOGE has infinite supply, so your 1 mln doge gets less and less value in time.
Sorry for you that u didn't know that.

Don't be so extreme dude, there are many other reliable projects. If you like ETH so much, you should know some projects based on ETH. DGD, ICONOMI, FIRSTBLOOD, SNGLS, REP are all good projects.

Storage related projects like sia and storj are all similar to maid.

My holding: btc, eth, maid, dash, doge, stratis, sngls, rep and so forth

I want to know which are the best coins to buy. Share your crypto portfolio with me :)

i am always keeping most of my investment in bitcoin. from my total money that i have put into cryptocurrencies i have 70% to 90% of it in bitcoin and the rest goes into altcoins and comes out.
it is a different percentage because in times like this i exit altcoin market and go to bitcoin fully.

the altcoins that i have invested in are LTC, XMR, Dash, ETH, and sometimes ETC.
some others i am looking at are ICN, Gulden, XRP and Shift and many of the newer coins if they have potential for short term trading.

Bitcoin.

Some Monero in case the price goes up long-term.
Burst because its an amazing project with innovative ideas. You can still pick up coins cheap and they might actually be worth something one day. More of a long-shot gamble.
Will probably buy back into Factom and hold.

I actually think investing in Ethereum and Augur rep tokens might be a good long-term investment, as well.

DOGE ( was created just for fun, but still shows foot value of capitalization)
LISK and VIDZ (new, but as I heard are very perspective)

It will not, because DOGE has infinite supply, so your 1 mln doge gets less and less value in time.
Sorry for you that u didn't know that.

This is a lie. It is not infinite, and the yearly increase goes down over time as a proportion of the total supply, since the block reward stays at a constant 10K DOGE. There are many coins out there that have finished their mining phase, and are now deserted because of the lack of mining incentive. The 10K DOGE reward is what allows the network to stay active and for users to send any amount of DOGE for the price of only 1 DOGE. That is only $0.0002 - compare that to Bitcoin's transaction fees of as high as $0.20.

It is also important to compare the amount of coins created to other currencies to get a reality check. Doge has about $3K in new coins daily, but ETH for example has more than 100 times higher that amount, which has to be bought in order to sustain the current price.

I just want to get rich by investing in a new altcoin that brings new solid competition for bitcoin, until then im afraid there are no alts worth holding at least long term..

All in is never a good strategy. Even if project is good, it puts under huge pressure, and when you get emotional you may do a stupid decision.

its always good to diversify and have some investments to some coin too. I have Golem, XMR, ICN and ETH. its eth that i have invested the most. but I'd like to invest to some more if i can see there will be potential to it.  I have invested few to TIME of chronobank, i think its will be a good token later particularly their LH tokens.

Holding altcoins may be one of the ways how to get rich in a long term (because that surely won't happen overnight). ;D And the truth is, that there are many alt coins on the market which have increased their value in hundreds of % recently. If you invest in alts at the right moment and cash out them at another right moment, you can make a significant amount of coins.

long term? no way!
altcoins are only good for a short term investment (except 1 or 2 of them). if you buy them in the hope that for example in a year or two they are going to be as big as bitcoin, then i have to tell you now that you are wasting your time and money and you could have made lots more profit by short term investing in altcoins and dumping them on pumps to make lots more bitcoin in return.

I can't think of a single coin worth holding long term other than bitcoin, not even 1 or 2 altcoins... Ethereum? Huge risk, will hard fork, we will see a big mess again eventually.

XMR? Not sure, the coin is yet to show how to properly scale without centralizing the nodes.

What else is there?

With a long term, I mean year or two in maximum. And no, I don't expect any altcoin to be at bitcoin's level (in absolute numbers) after one year, but it would be ingnorant to think, that bitcoin is the only coin on the market which grows over time. If you choose wisely, your investment can grow in thousands of % withing one year.
I'll give you one particular example - on Jan 2016 you could buy Nexus (NXS) for 400 satoshi, after one year on Jan 2017, you could sell Nexus for 13 000 satoshi, it means it is 3150% growth. Comparing to bitcoin, on Jan 16 btc was $400 and Jan 17 btc was $1100. It's 175% growth.

Count with me. You have 400 bucks (to make the calculation more simple) and you invest them to bitcoin, or you can invest them to Nexus. Lets see what happens.

Jan 2016
$400 = 1 btc
$400 = 1 btc = 250 000 NXS

Jan 2017
1 btc = $1100
250 000 NXS = 32.5 btc = $35 750

Bitcoin investment pure profit: 1100 - 400 = $700
Nexus investment pure profit: 35 750 - 400 = $35 350

What I wanted to say was, that absolute numbers don't matter when you want to invest, so altcoins can be as good long term investment as bitcoin or even better. ;)
