Title: Could Bytecoin come back and overtake Monero?
Post by: paramind22 on October 12, 2016, 09:53:44 PM
Do you think Bytecoin could come back and overtake Monero?   What would cause that to happen?

I could say that theres a  possibility  but as we all see  and witness  the  price of  xmr  now  is quite high compared  to the price when it was newly launched  and been  adopted  mostly in darknet because  of  its  anonymous features  surpasses  bitcoin but   last week  xmr do have a problem why its price dipped again.

Monero does not have problems... traders have problems... the tech is solid as ever

If someone burn 181,622,811,851 BCN.
Not sure why they didn't just print infinity of them.

BCN bytecoin is not popular coin, is low big community
and low volume transaction
i think is very dificult and imposible bytecoin can overtake monero

But, bytecoin once got very big investors to compete even with litecoin, if they manage again to attract more investors similarly we can expect it to over come monero and other similar altcoins too. Anything is possible with altcoin bumping. (But, personally I do not save any bytecoins.)

Why would someone want to use Bytecoin over Monero?

Monero is really old and has many experienced Bitcoin/Alt-coin users within their community, that is why the companies are using it in the outer websites.

Bytecoin needs to age first before it is used as a company payment option

Did not you read my post?

If you did. Did you see the number of coins?

How hard is compete in capitalization if you just print yourself 9999999999999999 coins. Is same as ripple is doing now or Onecoin.

The number of coins does worry me a little bit.
Max number of Bitcoin is 21 million? (I think this is correct?)
Maybe devs are okay with the highest price of the coin only ever being a fraction of the cost of one Bitcoin.
(I'm not sure what their plans are)

And feel free to send me a PM before the pump begins.
I could maybe make back some of the money I lost getting drunk and playing Blackjack.
Don't drink and gamble kids!  :'(

It is hard to expect that bytecoin will come back and will replace monero. bytecoin now remain an unknown currency and monero is much higher in its success and is going more to increase in respect in the hearts of people and investors.

I may be wrong, but according to a quick search, Bytecoin was the first.  It started in 2012, and Monero started in 2014.  Like a lot of coins, you can't really mine Monero unless you dedicate a lot resources to it, I'm mining seven or eight thing right now, with ASICs and CPUs but not GPUs.   I imagine GPU mining of Monero may still be profitable.  I wonder if the two can co-exist?  The marketcap on Bytecoin is still 10 million.

Did not you read my 2 posts up?

Forget BCN market cap. look at number of coins. Those coins never got traded. They just artificially blow market cap.

I've tried to install their wallet and took me a month to run it and it did not take me half of it's blockchain.so if you are a late comer like me,I don't think there's something on Bytecoin that will attract although it is easy to mine on minergate..
