I built a website which converts YouTube videos to MP3 files (its link is in my signature).

But I just don't know how to get visitors.
Do you have any tips or tricks?

I believe hiring an SEO expert is just a waste of money which leads to no relevant result. What's your opinion about it?

you might also want to make sure your site gets listed on alexa, not sure how alexa and google work together but thats a start

and send emails to everyone you know with a link to the site or post a link to your site under youtube videos with lots of views

oh the most important thing is to build links to your site, like from forums, youtube, reddit, etc..
make sure that you build as many links to your site as possible but dont buy links off the net, do everything you can but stick with google and such only use the big players


Set up a facebook account for your site than go over to steemit and sign up for an account there and make a site with links to your youtube converter site, steemit pages are ranked highly on google

How much do you charge for making an app and how would it work?

The place i think to promote the website is facebook,twitter and youtube.Make pages of website in every social media and try to give many like there and post every thing there about website because these social sites has huge traffic which you can use.

i wouldnt charge anything for making the app because i teach myself making apps so this would be a good project to start with

however we could try and monetize the app with built in advertising or so and than share the profits if there are some

to me money wouldnt be the motivation, i would do it primarly just to learn

If you don't want to hire an SEO expert then take that seat for yourself. Because there is a lot of competition in this market and you have to get your website somewhere in the top 3 to 5 positions on the search engines.
For that you have to do work on important keywords, get some relevant ad spots and also offer something unique which is not there on other similar sites.
Social media can also help you start getting some visitors.
In short, you need to work hard because there is already a lot of competition and old sites to challenge you in this field.

To promote your website, I think you must post in on facebook. Make a page first and start joining groups of music lovers who like to download music and promote your site there thats a good start. 2nd is to advertise it on many forums so that many people can see it and also make it appear on google search I don't know much how do this happen though but surely many will go into your site if it can be seen via google search.

Spend atleast $300 for your seo first and your keyword will have very high amount of competition so you have to spend a lot of money first to rank on google. Or you will need very high quality backlinks as well.

@Boseda , since your app is free without any cost for prople who would like to convert video to mp3, it will be easier to get organic traffic from google.

facebook - socialize with audience without promoting directly to them on fb. outline the benefit of yr app.

The site itself is very usefull. All you need to do is a little promotion. Heres my suggestions:

• First know your audience. Must target music video lovers. How about create an ad campaign "convert youtube to mp3" from adwords?
• Make an fb fanpage, buy a facebook ad and promote your fanpage that points to your site.
• Do an SEO yourself, create a blogpost about the latest music videos, make it rank for the song title. Then at the end of your post, make a promotion like: "Convert this music video to MP3"
  
• Hire someone to make a signature campaign for your advertisement here in bitcointalk. Just like what I am doing, I am promoting my own services from my own signature, then comment to different forum categories to create exposure of your signature

I am not an expert, but I think blog commenting, forum posting, e-mail marketing, social media.. I want to try guest posting, but have no single idea what to start with.

This method I think is already outdated. Only social media sites like facebook, youtube or twitter is the best method to advertise your website and you can even target specifics audience on those social media sites I mentioned.

this could be pricey but definitely worth since you can target users by its demographics. i once did this before for a period of time, its effective but my boss spent about $2500 in a month a a half just to promote his site. the amount spent was also earned along the way. this is going to be effective if your products and services are also worth buying and you know the market.

Two ideas for you. Do a giveaway. Something cheap like a smartphone or headphones for like 100$. Have people register on your site and maybe use it in order to participate in the giveaway. The other idea is commercial banners in torrent trackers. This will get you some clicks I'm quite sure.
