Title: Hashnest / S7 miners
Post by: tomahawkeer on October 13, 2016, 01:35:00 PM
I am curious. I have been considering buying hash power from hashnest, buying enough to equal a full S7 for once they become non-profitable for them. Does anyone know about how much it would be to ship one to the US once they do start to send them out?

There are other places to buy them, (ebay / amazon) however I am trying to keep cost(s) down as much as possible so trying to find out how much shipping from china to US would be pretty important, as from other sites, its pretty easy to determine.

The s9's I get direct from Bitmain cost about ~$140 using UPS for shipping from China to the USA. Since a s7 is about the same weight shipping cost should be similar.

The S5 Redemption was very cheap, but the units I received were mostly shit.  For whatever reason I redeemed one unit and they sent me 3.  One of the 3 units was dead and they other two were ugly but worked.  I believe I spent like $30 shipping after the redemption period started.  The conditions in these mining facilities in China are far from the hospital like atmosphere they put on display for their websites.

Thanks for the replies guys. Great to know, totally considering buying the hashrate to obtain one for when they go beyond profit.

Right now it is going to cost you .18 BTC or $115 to buy the 4860gh/s to obtain one of these miners.  every day that would get you .000000035 BTC per gh.  In a month it is about $3 at 93% payouts.  Might get $10-$20 back if you are lucky.  So now you are looking at a $100 cost in a few months when it is unprofitable.  The terms state there is a $50 handling fee and shipping added on top of that so maybe $80-$100.  So you are looking at $150-$200.  Not sure that is gonna be worth it at all.

And most probably unit will die in 2-3 months. Or maybe you will be lucky and also can get a 3 pieces :)
