I saw the price of some coins like Dash,litecoin etc are  $11.07 and $4 respectively but I dont see many people using them.
I know bitcoin is widely accepted and even many big merchants have now started accepting it so it's high price may be justified but why the prices of other cryptos as mentioned above are even more than a cent?Who uses Dash or Litecoin and where?

it is only due to the availability of the currency if some big and bulk trader will hold much btc then the availability of bitcoin in the market became very few and due to this the price will rise which is same like the vegetable or product demand in cities .

in my opinion the rate of crypto depends upon the bitcoin rate and the use of crypto is only for exchange for profit due to its fluctuations rate or price . and i think there is no use in actual place .

If you join any exchange then you will see a lot of people buying and selling crypto currency these are the traders and investors and because of their demand the price of these cryptocurrencies you see.

Well i think in my assessment the person who used altcoin are the community users who believe in the altcoin. I do believe that every altcoins had their own communities. And crypto currencies most often used for trading in the exchange or use it for pump and dump only. and so far there are few merchants who accept altcoin.

Bitcoin's value is probably 95% pure speculation. All alts are 100% speculation. The overwhelming majority are being used only for one thing - get more bitcoin by trading or in the case of the people who create these coins, fool people into paying upfront with bitcoin for something totally worthless.

there is a little usage. xmr has a couple of dark markets and people often use ltc to transfer btc faster between exchanges.

People are using altcoins, because of buy/sale - making profit, mining and fast transaction time. Many Dice players use altcoins due to fast transfer time and also small transfer fee. Altcoins are used because of some other advantages too, for example, Monero.  ;D

Most altcoins have zero real life use. They are mostly used as speculative investments assets and pump&dump schemes.

Some of them are accepted in crypto casinos (LTC, ETH, DOGE), others are good for dark markets (XMR).

Only Bitcoin is widely regarded and has some adoption potential.

Many gambling sites accept altcoins, crypto-games accepts eight crypto currencies including Dash and Litecoin, Directbet accepts Ethereum and Dogecoin, moreover, Cryptojacks coin has a dice site and paid to click site, Pesobit will have a freelance site according to their road map. These sites give additional value to the accepted coins.

Problem is - these coins are all insignificant, not existent, currently planned (and might never be ready, as I have seen many projects failed along the way).

I wish that casino will share information about number of users/volume of altcoin being used on their services.

Because I don't think it is even worth implementing altcoin payments.

Pesobit is aimed to be niche coin for Philippine market - it will fail. I didn't even know that CryptoJacks is worth 1 satoshi...

most do forex with crypto too..

you question should really be why some coins like ethereum are above $1 when there is absolutely no usage for them.

i don't know about dash but litecoin has been around for a very long time and it is almost as old as bitcoin. and if you look at the official site and their wiki you can see there are many places that are accepting litecoin as payment too.

and also as others mentioned xmr and the dark net and the anonymous transactions is a thing these days.

but apart from all that altcoins are mostly used just for trading and to make some more bitcoin from their price fluctuations.

Coinpayments.net is a payment processor that mainly uses alts. They wouldn't be in business if no-one was paying in alts...

I think no one uses dash or litecoin because the major crypto currency uses now is bitcoin some are holding dash or litecoin are they sell it to bitcoin. Maybe in other country they can use that coins but here in our country only bitcoin we can use.

Cryptocurrency gets very little use as currency, strangely enough.  Lots of people buy, sell, and trade it though--it's great for speculation, especially since there aren't many rules yet. 

Yeah, try finding a place to spend your Dash.  I think there were about 4 places in the US last I checked.  This stuff is for buying and holding, not so much for spending.

So far the things that I know who uses the cryptocurrencies was located in Australia, as far as I know there's a lot of bitcoiner/bitcoin enthusiast in that country. Because I have a friend there he's the one told me everything about it.

That would be depend on the price movement of bitcoin, though we knew there is a fluctuation happening in the price value of bitcoin. And most often the cryptocurrencies is being used in the exchange site platform.

Not only Australians but almost all countries,all nationality are using it. Many its limited or banned from other countries but still,users exists there even in China. Most are professional and ordinary people who has access to internet connection.They used it to purchased from vendors who are selling online,trading  and even for investments.

Though we consider that it is still limited to some,but it is evident that bitcoin's are thriving.

generally i don't think altcoins have any real places to be used, especially the new unknown coins you find, they are just for pump and dump purposes.

but coin as old and useful like litecoin can be used in real world shops to buy things and that may be one of the many reasons the price of LTC is stable and high after these years.
