Title: Bitcoin - is it a particle or a wave?
Post by: DGulari on October 16, 2016, 08:11:35 PM
Sometimes it appears to be a little of both and neither.

What makes you see it this way? I'm a big fan of the wave-particle duality paradox, it proves how little we know, in spite of how much we do.

It's a virus. It slowly spreads, infests and infects the mind of those who choose to let it. It can't be stopped and it can't be killed. It'll always lie in waiting somewhere.

Well, I see the 'satoshi' as the smallest unitary element (the particle).  But I see the blockchain and technology as the supporting matrix within which these particles traverse, propagate and exist (the wave).  The closer we look at the satoshi, the more unimportant the wave properties.  The more we pay attention to the blockchain, the less important the notion of the fundamental unit becomes.  Satoshi is the quanta of the blockchain.

You are right. This slowly affects and infects all of us but I don't want to believe this is only a wave.
