Calling all graphic designers! The Bitcoin Store (https://allthingsdecentral.com) is in need of a new logo, so naturally, we’re tapping into our talented community for some help. We’re holding a logo design competition from October 17th - November 7th, and we’ve got some crypto prizes for you.

Our goal is to promote decentralized digital currencies in popular culture, with a focus on premium quality products. The logo you are making for us must encapsulate who we are and what we offer.

Here’s some more specs:
 - Logo should read “The Bitcoin Store”
 - The logo must be clean and professional, and should be able to look good on both digital and physical media
 - Please submit high quality png files. The final graphic must also be a vector file.
 - Submissions can be sent to store@bitcoin.com from October 17th - November 7th with “Submission” in the subject line.
 - We’ll announce the winners on November 14th

Also I just want to add, why it is a private contest why don't you want it to be in a public announcement for submissions so we know who really takes the bounty.

It doesn't line up right the way I have it above, but picture a slanted roof from the S to the n. The dot of the second i in Bitcoin would be a [gas] light. Try to accomplish the feat in max three colors. The finished logo would be reminiscent of an old-timey store.

I think it would be good to make it private that way we cannot copy ideas from each other, then after time limit all entries may be posted by dev per contestant if it is ok so we will see and confirm submitted images.  ;)

To be sincere to myself, I don't like all these sort of contest services. Why not hire each person to design the logo for your and pay them off instead of just two to four person winning  some BTC while others receive nothing after they have contributed their own share if at the end they did not win.

Sadly it also requires designers not to enter such competitions in the first place. I personally don't enter these kind of competitions on principle. But its a global market and some mediocre third world designer will pick up the job if means rice on the table.

Well nothing is wrong in this contest..

The only concern is if OP will just take all concepts submitted and then at the end no winner being announce and "them" being a designer or have a designer on their site can modify entries they have...

Why not use 99design? crowdspring? zilliondesign? a lot of professional logo designer on those sites i mean this is not the right place to held logo contest at all.

OP always keep in mind the owner of this site will not help liable for any copyright issues of all entries while most logo design contest websites has their own copyright agreement between the winner and the website where they can sign their names and acknowledge that they own everything or they made the logo by themselves etc etc.

...and i am hoping admin will take concern of this matter for they may also be charge if there is any issues occurs in the future.

Yeah there are pros and cons about design contest. Well some new designers using contest to add their portfolio, so although their designs dont win the contest, at least they can add them into their portfolio.

sometimes making a contest would result better than hiring a logo designers if the site publisher were just out of idea what he's going to make so he's expecting someone to give a fresh idea and get a good result rather than counting on the one designer,it is was from my opinion,even though i'm mostly joining these contests in order to improve my skills and as jayce mentioned to get some example of my designing to be inserted into my portofolio and to add an additional point when i'm going to apply for a designing job

I agree with you because such contest kills the time of loosing competitors and obviously not all could win in a competitions. But, since people are finding such contests as a proving arena by participating in, then I think it will too fine to have competitions for providing them such opportunities.

Yes, all entry must have their consolation prize and be preferred to use bitcoin.

I assume that everyone who chooses to "kill time" entering this contest does so of free will, and with full knowledge of the risks and rewards. This is completely voluntary (just like Bitcoin). People can choose to take a risk or they can pass by. I don't understand the complaining.

Yes,, everyone must have their compensation after their work done and I guess small amount of bitcoin is enough. I guess if you give t-shirt what if the contestant is from the other side of your country? What will happen will he pays for shipping fee of that?
