I am really scared of bitcoin will die because saved up bitcoin in my wallet then i looked up to the bitcoin discussion i read that "bitcoin will die" then i realize that if bitcoin will die i can't spend anymore of my bitcoin all my savings will be for nothing then now i cant think of buying things because in my country they don't accept bitcoin and i have buy up things in the past for now i am saving money for my future kids but still my dream will be dead so as my savings if bitcoin dies! >.<

Next time try to have a bit more of a concise point, a majority of the sentences after your first portion were unnecessary.

As for people saying that Bitcoin will die, a majority of the time they're just spreading FUD. Unless they have a lot of information to back it up, ignore them. The price has been up from a few months ago, and it's still going fairly strong. There is a huge discrepancy between their claims and reality.

they have been saying bitcoin is going to die soon for ages. just google it and you will find out all the obituaries written for bitcoin, they are all B.S. but if you are afraid it is your money you should decide for yourself.

that was often being said and they keep on predicting that bitcoin will shutdown soon but bitcoin is still working up to now and it is still the leading cryptocurrency . i am not very knowledgeable about bitcoin but i know and i believe that bitcoin will not going to die .

anything can die. most things do die eventually. when people talk about it here, they're usually trying to scare someone into doing something.

the tone of your post sounds like someone who's overinvested. no one should bet everything on one thing. do some diversification.

You should not be holding value as bitcoin that you would be devastated to lose.  Bitcoin is an extremely risky, highly volatile, experimental system. There is a lot of long term potential. It could be very successful.  There is also a lot of risk, and it could fail miserably.

If you woke up tomorrow and bitcoin was worth $0.01 per BTC, would you be devastated financially?  If the answer is yes, then you are holding too much value as bitcoins and you need to immediately convert some of that into something more stable.

Btc has been dead for a long time, only to those who don't care for it.

If you really put yourself in a deep thinking, ask yourself how bitcoin will die? Yes it's possible but look at the current status of it today.

It will happen slowly and not instant so still you can take advantage of your current holdings of bitcoin. And besides no one can predict the future so how come you easily believe with those claims without any reasonable basis.

This is like the nth^nth time being discussed here in bitcointalk lol. I've been through several crazy price swings but still bitcoin remains standing and being widely used by many people. For bitcoin to "die", that means the internet should die too, along with it, also the mining scene, the user-base, and so on.. Price doesn't dictate everything in a coin. As long as there is continuous support from the devs and most especially from the community, it will continue to thrive no matter how shit it is in the moment.

It's depends on the demands, bitcoin will be.
If you see now the price is it can be said that stable than few months ago, it's means give a signal if people start to use bitcoin as currency. Although we don't know the future. At least bitcoin still supplying until 2024 ;D

I'd buy like a few thousand of them. If there is somewhere to buy them, as they might all be closed if that happened.

Sometimes we just need to clear things out before believing in those articles or anything we read on. It's not wrong to believe since it's possible but why take that directly in the end.

You can clearly see how bitcoin will run for a long term as an investment. If you care for the future, you can see how you will benefits with bitcoin today so that in case of sudden fall you keep up with that advantage. So what to do? Don't just hold and play with the market.

Same here it is good news for me if it can be happen.. but it is impossible to happen because the price of bitcoin is always relaying in demand and supply  and i think there is people or holders are forgot their wallet accounts or for long term holders maybe they are already died and their bitcoin was stuck in their wallet.. so the price will not go down in that price it is impossible to happen..

Well, I guess nothing lasts forever in this world, so bitcoin surely die. but, I guess it will never die if there are still people who use them, especially if it is something that is very valuable. bitcoin currently has a high price, and most likely this will continue, so I guess we do not know when bitcoin die, but I know that bitcoin will keep growing

i am not agree with this, i hope that bitcoin is not going to die, but is becoming more and more strongr as the time pass. we can see that people are investing their money and now they are using it for online shopping and also for shopping in their local markets.

You should not always listen or believe what others say about a thing, doing your own research on something you hear is the best option instead of getting worried about that thing, and the ones who keep saying bitcoin will die does not know anything nor do we know, but the things we can see right now probably indicates towards a better future of bitcoin but not towards its death.

I would still probably think that who ever says bitcoin will die sooner or later as a strategic plan. This might increase nor decrease the current bitcoin price the only thing is for sure that price would be affected. Anyways doubts would always be  a part of this platform me myself also do have some doubts but in the first place you would not lose something that you don't have in the first place.

No one can accurately say what will happened in bitcoin in the future. No such basis we can think about it either. If it's purely discussion then we can't consider it as a valid facts. All in all, people there in your so called "bitcoin will die" topic are just exchanging opinions.

We are not erasing the possibility that bitcoin will fall but for now it's hard to think of it since as time passes by, the support of the community is getting stronger. I can't show some valid proofs about that but Im sure of it. So what to do? Take advantage of bitcoin while it's still here.

It is not true, even if it is true who is going to kill the bitcoin if I may ask ? Leave those pessimistic doubting Thomases and do the right thing for yourself. Don't allow people to continue kicking like a football because they feel you cannot decide for yourself.

Bitcoin's death is continuously being declared. To me, that is a good indicator that bitcoin is doing well and fine and NOT dead/dying. When people stop saying bitcoin is dead/dying, then that's when I'll start to worry.

I am chasing bitcoin since 2013. When i started to learn bitcoin a lot of people say bitcoin will die, it wil die soon. Now we are in 2016 and some people still say the same sentences. In my opinion, the people will talk these things after 2020 but the reality is it will not die :) So don't worry.

i don't think so because there are many people have attracted to bitcoin and they are already love bitcoin. i wonder where those guys got the idea to say that bitcoin will die? hm i think they want to make panic sell in market and they can get benefit with that.

Who told you that bitcoin is going to  die. Bitcoin is a decentralized automated system if 100s and 10000s of computer running together and no one can stop the network at once. And bitcoin is not a fraud scheme. It is not going to run away with our money you can save your money for your son and grand son.

Everything that comes into being will die, that is really a vague statement, but for the near future I believe we will have and hold and aspire to acquire it for some time to come. I don't think we shall see the death of bitcoin any time soon.

Everything is possible and there will always be risk with anything in life same goes for holding bitcoin with speculating high price rise in future. However chances of price going down and bitcoin network being completely dead even for 1 second is not possible if you deeply research on how bitcoin works.

- Bitcoin is decentralized so nobody can completely switched it off.
- Whatever the price of 1 bitcoin will be in future , bitcoin may still keep functioning even if it loss lots of community support.

My suggestion for you and anybody will be that don't save all your saving in only one place, better diversify your holding. Also don't save all your savings only in bitcoin, and in future keep updated with bitcoin recent news and price movement so that you can sell your holdings if price is seeing heavy downtrend.

Bitcoin will be living longer than us, it is decentralized, government can't kill btc. It will exist forever. The price will keep over 500 usd.

It is already over $500 USD and I don't think it will going to stable at $700 either. I'm thinking that bitcoin is going to be stable up to $1,000 and that is going to make bitcoin hard to be killed. Because more and more investors are seeing that earning and investing with bitcoin is much more better than investing in other crypto's.

Well if you're waiting for someone to reassure you with a killer argument that Bitcoin will not ever die, you're gonna be checking this thread for a long time  :D The probability that Bitcoin dies gets less with time but it will never turn into a certainty. You just have to define your priorities relating to Bitcoin based on this uncertainty. If you've been putting all your savings into Bitcoin, maybe you should consider diversifying your assets.

this is the classic topic again because of the price rise and those people who say bitcoin is dead or will die, drop, go down to $100,.... are people who have missed the opportunity to buy bitcoin and now are desperately trying to spread some FUD to maybe force some weak hands to sell and fill their buy orders.

Maybe someone considers bitcoin die because bitcoin prices down, so many people who consider bitcoin dead. But for now bitcoin will not die. Because I see the price of bitcoin tended to recover from last month. And bitcoin users has increased, it is a sign that bitcoin can still grow.

Something not seen the near death of Bitcoin. Difficulty Bitcoin mining is increasing, transaction complete blocks, on the contrary everything is just developing. Not far off the price of 1,000 US dollars.

No ,it isn't true .why don't you research about it and try to read.some of their replies before acting like that. That's really possible but if you what bitcoins right now ,do you think it would die after all ? Yes because one user saying it should not make you think and question about bitcoins.Some one having loosen some amount in bitcoin by spending in ponzi sites or loosing some decent amount in the trading of bitcoins say something like that,and thats because their own fault,bitcoin is growing and has a lot more potential.

I think bitcoin is not that easy to die, the implementation of  bitcoin is quite vast, so as long as there are still a lot of user to use bitcoin it won't die, so we need to help bitcoin to stay alive by keep using bitcoin and keep on introduce bitcoin to new user

I don't think bitcoins will be die, there are many people said was like that, the facts bitcoins can be survive until right now and we are on fase of revolution digital currency. Will there are many people who use bitcoins in the future, although there are not guarantee about that but if we saw growing of bitcoins will be hard for bitcoins to be die.

Just like basher they trying to bring down or contradict what others belief .Probably they experience negative things as you've exampled so they frequently say its a scam and bitcoins will die . Don't bother to listen on them and as always said invest what you can afford to lose so it is not too depressing if what will happen.

Hi OP, these  things are  just  speculations  or   just threads  which  discuss about  the  possibility of   a  regarding situation  on what if  bitcoin  would die. Those  kind of  threads are  just  accumulating   opinions  regarding with it. I could really say that  bitcoin  wouldnt last forever  but as we look on the  current state of bitcoin i could somehow assure that  it is  strong  enough  to stood still  for more  longer  years  as long there are people  would  really use it. It  wont easily die  for sure.

Well, eventually it will die, but I think you'll get the return on your investment first.  :D

There are way too many people predicting the future and they're usually wrong.

Some people need some dramatic news so they are saying that Bitcoin will die or disappear soon. I'm not sure this is scenario that is going to happen. Maybe some day it will be replaced with some more developed cryptocurrency but that will not happen over night and until then Bitcoin will remain well established in crypto world.

everyone will certainly do it all. Without exception those that already have the perfect life. They do it all because it wants to make the spirit from within them to grind it in a way that is better and the maximum. I think you also do the same thing with them/me too. So, this is not something a bad thing cause it to make or uplifting yourself

Uplifting   yourself  would be a good thing though  but  you  mustnt  do too exagerated  on   saying  up those things  especially on some  speculation and  perception in the future  which  we really dont have  an idea at all on what  it would be like. Speculations and   perceptions are  normal  but we should  be   realistic for sometimes.

don't worry about it, bitcoin will die if no one use, or bitcoin miners are left, or there altcoin beat bitcoin.
but now bitcoin increasing popularity, steam accepted bitcoin, exchanger available in every country, and many countries began to accept bitcoin as currency or just a comodity.

I don't see bitcoin going to die anytime soon so that your sons/grandsons may also be able to use it however there will be always new thing coming up daily in this modern world and there is also chance for bitcoin to get upgraded or replaced by better solution in future.

I also trust bitcoin like many do and also saving few of my savings in bitcoin for future but i keep on checking what is happening on bitcoin world so that i can sit relax with my investment. Don't save all you have in bitcoin could be best suggestion.

As for your statement - never say never. Every generation thinks that they invented economic stability just to be proven otherwise by unfortunate chain of events.
Crisis->catharsis->rebuild is a law of standard FIAT markets and I think it will be present in crypto economy as well.

I think we don't need to worry about it. It surely can "die" someday, but it won't happen now, or soon. Bitcoin has a prosperity age yet to reach, and we will make much profit with this crypto-currency.

But it's normal that material things arise, make success and disappear or lose its price then. But I believe it won't happen with BTCs until the next generation.

I think so, Its hard to say that this coin will die when a lot of people have invested in it. As long as there are people who believes this coin,as a medium or tool for exchange it may not happen.Unless people will lost its trust,but if that happens,another crytocurrency or altcoins will rise.

Well your on luck mate it will be a super long time when that happen, What I mean is that Bitcoin won't really die in terms of it non-existing anymore but in terms of price decrease maybe it will happen. Also the momentum of bitcoin's popularity increase everyday , popularity=demand. Demand is the main driver for the bitcoin's price of course I can see a bright future ahead of it.

The death of Bitcoin has been greatly exaggerated, and I think Bitcoin is currently in a better position now than at any other time in its history. Every day, more and more people are learning about Bitcoin and the advantages to having the cryptocurrency. I also think that now is the time to invest in Bitcoin and the price will continue to go up. More retailers and companies are accepting Bitcoin than ever before, and the future is bright!

@op, if you counted the times people talked and speculate about bitcoin death,  you would be amazed that it was speculated several times.  But as you can see, it is a mere speculations,  no proof or fact behind it.  These are the minds of people who wants to get bitcoin at a very cheap price.  They are spreading F(ear)U(ncertainty)D(oubt) in order for them to buy Bitcoin at their target price.
