Title: MacBook Air - Any good for mining in a pool?
Post by: blooder900 on June 14, 2011, 02:09:46 AM
Hello,

I have a MacBook Air and according to the table with "Hardware Comparison" in the wiki, it has really low Mhash/s rates.

However, would that be enough for mining in a pool and receiving a BTC once in a while?

Sorry if my questions seem stupid, but there is so much information that I can't find the one I need :)

Probably wouldn't be worth the hassle.
Might be just a good idea to do direct cash for bitcoins unless you want to generate your own.

No. You should probably not even bother.

If you are lucky and run your Macbook 24/7 you might generate $0.50 worth of BTC in a month

Yep. I'm getting fluctuating khash rates of 500-1000 on a base model 2010 MBP.
