Title: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: HATA28 on April 03, 2013, 04:29:06 PM Hello,
This newbie restriction thing, sucks like hell. I've been reading on this forum for like 3 months+ so why the hell can't I post anything. Yea I need 10 posts, I know, and I got them, but after waiting for more than 15min's I still can't post anywhere else than here...... WTFFFFF I WANNA POST All newbies, feel free to reply to get your post count @ 10. Have a nice day Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: Masqurin on April 03, 2013, 04:31:15 PM You need to spend 4 hours online too.
Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: whitetoo on April 03, 2013, 04:31:27 PM You need to have a minimum of 5 hours on the forum as well I believe.
Personally I think the restrictions in place are fair and avoids spam in other forums which contain helpful and important topics. Frustrating as it is, it's not too much hassle to overcome the restrictions with so much content posted every hour, just keep reading whilst logged on. Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: tysat on April 03, 2013, 05:22:35 PM You guys weren't here for the pre-restriction spamming days, it was not a fun time.
Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: Hadez on April 03, 2013, 05:23:31 PM The newbie laws do suck, but having been admin on some forums of similar size they are a much needed junk filter....
Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: HATA28 on April 03, 2013, 05:26:02 PM Okay, I agree.
The newbie restrictions are not very nice, but its better than no restrictions for sure. I should have made an account a few weeks ago, and used it for reading but I didn't so its my own fault that I have to wait. Can anyone tell me how long it usually takes before a whitelist thing gets accepted? (if its good enough) Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: crackisback on April 03, 2013, 05:27:30 PM 1 hour here :( yea, it suck
Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: deepceleron on April 03, 2013, 05:27:54 PM Bitcoin has a proof-of-work system, so does the forum! Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: btmstr on April 03, 2013, 05:43:42 PM i understand the purpose for restrictions. Im not going to bash the moderators for making them, but it sure does lead to alot of usless post...much like this one.

Well, my fellow n00b137 beings, we can't change the rules, so it's pointless to be upset. We have to assimilate ourselves ;) Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: sonnebtcpowe on April 04, 2013, 10:58:16 AM exactly
Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: San1ty on April 04, 2013, 11:04:13 AM Good times, waiting 5 hours just because I want to have a chat on the potential of creating a pool in node.
Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: phylogrammet on April 04, 2013, 02:46:53 PM Haha, while they don't exactly suck I do find myself looking for an appropriate thread to post a thoughtful reply on...
There's at least 50 threads I want to reply on, but they're not in this area of the forum, that's for sure. There are some good threads in here, but they're about 200 pages deep and pinned already, I doubt I'd have anything new to contribute. Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: optikalsaint on April 04, 2013, 02:50:29 PM Its really not that bad as by the time you're able to say something you're more familiar with your surroundings and the people here... like a stalker. Reading their comments and watching them while they have no idea you're there. :)
Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: wzl on April 04, 2013, 03:22:11 PM Bitcoin has a proof-of-work system, so does the forum! Besides reducing robo-spam, it also gives you some time to search and read before posting a question (or theory about why Bitcoin will never work) that has been previously answered multiple times. Yeah, whatever.I already know about bitcoin and I've been mining for a while. I joined yesterday to answer a question I saw posted in a thread in mining hardware. Lame. Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: Cereal on April 04, 2013, 03:24:10 PM 1 hour down... 4 to go :)
Should have created an account when i started reading this forum.. Must have > 4 days of forum use last months.. Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: rmarma01 on April 04, 2013, 03:42:07 PM This is good to know. Wondering why I can't post has been driving me CRAZY!!
Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: RodeoX on April 04, 2013, 03:49:36 PM Even with the restriction look at how many new accounts go on to:
Ask for a loan. Ask to buy with PayPal. Determine that bitcoin is a "ponzi". Try mining on their PC. Discover a fatal flaw in bitcoin that no one noticed. Boldly announce the future price of a bitcoin will be... Any of these types of threads show that the newbie did zero reading on the forums. We want people here who want to learn or help. Not whiners and conspiracy nuts. Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: s2 on April 04, 2013, 03:53:45 PM Yep, I've been bitten by these restrictions too. Here's another post however to try and get me out of the newbie status too, sorry for my spam :)

Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: aliaser on April 04, 2013, 05:08:38 PM It's like a sub-forum with newbies and a hell of new posts (mostly trolling) in the quest of a regular "membership".
Wouldn't discourage trolls and spammers, after all they are used to it ;) Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: Pruden on April 04, 2013, 05:13:19 PM Yeah, they really suck.

I've got some great questions I want to ask about hardware, but would probably not be suitable for the Newbies section. These are valid posts from a REAL person, but I cannot use these questions to get to be a "qualified" user of this board by increasing my post count 'cause I want to pose these questions in the correct forum. Catch 22... Title: Re: Newbie restrictions SUCK Post by: yeurch on April 04, 2013, 09:58:21 PM I agree with the restrictions mostly, but I'm eager to wade into a particular topic in one of the real forums.
