Still there are no any bitcoin ATM over here in Nepal, i don't think we will see one in near future and may take few more years for Nepalese government to lossen the rule regarding foreign currency exchange and also increase the tight limitation on how much dollar we can send out of country.

Most of the developing countries are facing these problems regarding foreign currency and without thinking much deeper about cryptocurrency our government have decided to treat bitcoin as foreign currency or better to say still no any clear explanation have been given by them.

But i will love to use one of them when i will be in foreign countries in near future.

No, I haven't, and I doubt I will ever. I live in a relatively small city regarding the outer world standards, and the closest big city is at a few hours of drive from here.

There was Bitcoin ATM presently in our country's main financial district although I myself haven't see it personally eventhough it's just few kilometers away from our work office.

We can buy, get cash and create an online wallet there. I just don't know if it was still there*. For those people here who are living in PH, it's located at Sunnete Tower Condo Suites, Makati Ave. Makati City. :)

Nowadays it is easy to convert your bitcoin to fiat vice versa as long as you have a smart phone, internet and credit card. Amd it is more safer and less fees if you convert it yourself. But I'm still going to try it.

There are two types of Bitcoin ATM or BTC in short. One requires you to provide your personal information and require advanced KYC procedures before you will be able to buy BTC.
Second type is free from this type of burden and you can buy BTC freely. As you might guess 2nd type is rare but the best option to buy BTC.

Even I never used any Bitcoin ATM. Because afaik, there's no Bitcoin ATM has been installed on my country (India). Hope some Bitcoin ATMs will be installed near in future.

The last feedbacks i heard about those atm of bitcoin is that their fees are too high, even with some people exchanging their bitcoins into those machines, i wont get near if they keep charging those high fees, i do understand the service its great, be able to cashout from the machine without have to handle another person.

It's really an obvious thing if we compare the service of a bitcoin atm to our preferred way to convert bitcoin into cash. But what if you are in a situation where you don't have any access to internet and you really need to convert bitcoin into fiat and the only way is by using bitcoin atm nearby? You don't have any choices but to use it.

You will disregard the fees to that last resort or last option available. But of course you will just use that if there's no way available.

I think you can create and build first ATM in your country. With more than 1 billion India citizen, I sure ATM bitcoin users will increase only short time. In my country (Indonesia) have more than 5 atm, and 1 atm location is near from my city.

there are some bitcoin ATM in my country but i wasn't use it because the locations out of my town but i just know that using bitcoin ATM the fees will more high rather than using exchange and maybe this is the cause why the developer don't dare to build plenty bitcoin ATM because if the fees more high i think these feature will have lack of interest and people will more likely choose exchange

I probably would not use bitcoin atm because I think bitcoin wallet is very good for bitcoin. If the bitcoin system improved and developed I guess it does not require atm bitcoin, and bitcoin wallet use has been very good.

...

I have used BTC ATMs in NYC, Miami and in Vancouver (Canada).  In all cases to BUY Bitcoin.

New York did not require ID (years ago) nor anything like a callback number, SMS, etc.  Fee was about 8%.

Miami required ID.  Fee: 14% (ouch).

Vancouver required NO ID (!), fee was around 7%.  The one in Vancouver was the very first BTC ATM I read somewhere.  I have a picture around I can post sometime.

A couple of times to buy bitcoin, the whole process was very quick and straight forward, the fee though has pushed me away, it was 10% and now there a lot of other ways to get coins without having to pay a fee as high as that, overall though it was a good experience and people in the shop were wondering what I was doing.

in fact I always hear something related to bitcoin atm, but I've never seen, much less use it. however, if the engine has been circulated, I think it would be very good, and the public may also be interested in using the machine. but if it really exists in my city, I think it would be really cool

I have there is an bitcoin ATM in UK and morraco but I am not sure about that buddy. By xapo debit card we can easily access bitcoin debit card in regular ATM machine. Monthly charges for usage is there. If you need to access that buy and do it.

I use BTC debit card and this is something I recommend. BTC ATM re not that convenient, usually high fees and low accessibility. With the card, you can use any ATM and turn it into BTC ATM.

Haven't used one yet, but will do so once there's a machine near my place. The current one I know of available in my country is about 3 hours travel from my place. So, no go.

Currently, I'm using a service from my local exchange where I convert bitcoins to my currency and I can then send the fiat to a bank atm, where I can do a cardless atm withdrawal. Doesn't require me to have an existing account with the bank, don't need cards, and there are lots of machines available around. Really convenient. No added fees. Just the currency conversion.

Oh, I'm also currently waiting for my BTC debit card to arrive. But, it would cost more on fees when used in atms. Could be handy as I won't have to look for a specific bank's machine. Still, Mainly for online purchases.

Well now i do know that the fee to purchase at the machine its 10% above the bitcoin price, and about the cashout, its possible to cashout instant or there is a waiting period because the confirmations?

Yeah, I have used one. There are a couple in city that I have gone to. In fact there is one in the main train station that I go through. They don't charge that much as a fee. I have only used them when I was in need for money quickly and couldn't be bothered to fin a bank ATM. Other than that I don't use it often.

So, after reading some comments of people who encountered bitcoin ATMs, I see that negative comments about these machines are dominant.

It seems that BTM is a dead end end of Bitcoin evolution - high fees, limited access, KYC all this is making BTMs nothing more than glorified banner ads with Bitcoin logo.

As of now I've not tired to withdraw and deposit in the bitcoin ATM but in my country have bitcoin ATM. Many people suggest Me not use bitcoin ATM because of the fee is high than the other and bitcoin ATM need I'd and finger print that was my friend said. So I withdraw and deposit bitcoin in coins.ph and rebit.ph

I heard some of those ATM's are charging its users with ridiculous fees. I won't use an ATM for the first time when i really need it. I will try it first and see if its functioning properly then i can use it in my daily life.

Yes for fiat ATM, but fee charges for Bitcoin atm not too much, I think it's fair, you can receive money directly from the machine rather than to convert through the exchanger.

So, high fees and ID requirement are the biggest problems (beside ATM machine availability)!
