Title: Looking for suggestions for my btc related website
Post by: Xiaoxiao on October 26, 2016, 02:41:02 PM
I'm no web developer by any means and I had to hire a developer for me to code my site; BetcoinRakeback.com. It's a site offering extra rewards and incentives for professional poker players or amateurs for that matter.  I hate to have to bother my developer for every little thing, such as correcting a small mistake or anything.  I would like to have a small understanding of how to do these things myself in the coding.

I'm curious as to any suggestions or improvements so this can be more user friendly to new players coming in that are totally foreign to the idea of bitcoin.  Thanks!

First of all you  should make a detailed description of complete functionality of the site. I mean it, describe every feature - how you think it should work and how it should look.
Give it to you developer and expect he will make it a reality - when you see that something is not exactly as you envisioned then bother him all you want! He is not doing it for free after all.

EDIT: I am now checking out your site to see what it looks like... Maybe I will come up with some suggestions.

The interface need to improve, some graphic need to improve too for make the interface looks better, for example: logo, and other banner which help people interesting.
Must add the user friendly features, for example FAQ, support and chatting feature is need too.
Affiliate program should add, it's feature must have in gambling site.

A quick to read description of what exactly your site does might help new visitors.

Otherwise, it is a clean design and serves its purpose.

Thanks a lot for the feedback.  Is it complicated to add a chat to the website?  Also right now my developer has set the site where it sends out email from the @domain.com email address, but I am unable to compose emails from my domain email, because it forwards it to gmail.  How could I solve this?

The fact is simple, you cannot build a building without having the knowledge of placing bricks.Similarly,if you don't have a technical background,it would be difficult for you to cope-up with the process.

If your requirements are like changing color or adding new labels, you can start learning the basics at http://www.w3schools.com/ That's all you need.

Website feedback :
UI is bad.Not modern.Looks very dull.Colors do matter a LOT.Even if it's functionally correct and lacking the atmosphere,it simply won't interest anybody.
What's up with betcoin's tab ? You guys into joint venture or something? You would want to stay away from it.

IMO the website looks too bland. Nothing really makes the website interesting or appealing to the audience. I would suggest having a new template rather than just changing the background colour. If you want to learn coding by yourself, I highly recommend code academy. It's really helpful and can help you in any programming aspect.

+1 for http://www.w3schools.com/ (http://www.w3schools.com/) its friendly, free and they have wield community too.

The HTML language is easy to learn you can start with it as first step.

As many said ui is kinda bad and the first page is just way to long.

I am participating on your rakeback service, so I know what it is about. But, I must confess, after I read your website it is not easy to get a quick insight what it is about. It is probably very hard to understand for new users interested into your service. I would redesign the website and clean it up. In addition I would show less information and less screenshot on the start site. Important information only. I would build a second website where users can see all those information when they have a further interest.

eh,well.
so far look good, but you must do on first page like make new user curious first.

your first page is really "naked" i mean is,ppl want playing (gamblig) not read about ur site.

commonly gambling site just add simple instruction like : lets make ur first deposit and claim your bonus and win xxxBTC etc.

directly they want to know about ur site.
if you want introduce ur site at first page, make it simple, added icon, example : card to explain about ur site, arrow and number to explain about ur bonus rakeback.

so far your work is awesome

It feels like you are losing a lot of potential in the side margins with advertising,I realize you are limiting the site to Betcoin only but it might be a idea to put the perks of the site there.
Like freerolls and styles of tournies that make the site unique. Or customer feedback that states how happy the player is with the set rakeback scheme that you are providing with their screen names as reference. Some people will do this free for the ego boost alone.
