Title: Who's going to sue MtGox first?
Post by: shad0wbitz on April 03, 2013, 07:45:17 PM
With a lot of institutional, big money pouring into the Bitcoin world, I wonder who is going to be the first institutional investor to sue the shit out of MtGox.

Marky Mark's software monster sucks worse than a crack whore on discount night. I am sure a lot of people lost a lot of moolla because of Magic the Gathering Marky.

I don't think you can sue eBay for your auctions being removed or their site crashing and you being unable to sell your item to the bidders.

High doubtful an institutional investor could/would use Mt. Gox due to lack of liquidity, too much systematic risk, and simple fact that institutions would never chase a short-term parabolic move.

What would they use if not gox?

Well, a professional company specialized in Stock Trading or something like that could possibly deal with this a lot better.

But I'm actually very happy, that the biggest BTC exchange is still in the Hands of a real Bitcoiner. He could possible sell it for Millions if not close to a billion right now. (Just think about the billions for Skype)

Kudos to him that he hasn't done it jet and stays away from all this hassle.

Sue for what? You not doing your due diligence?
Welcome to a truly free market. It's called a shark tank for a reason. You get big rewards or take big falls. If that is too scary then buy insurance and stick to your 401k.

Tradehill's dark pools, although I highly doubt institutional money is flowing directly into Bitcoin. The systematic risk is far too great and the levels of liquidity are far too low. A single investment from one institution would move dramatically move the market. Tradehill is addressing this, but I still see it as a tough sell.

Use other exchanges. Simply put. Gox should not be the end all be all.
