Great to see such things happening in asian countries too, because i've always seen countries from Europe or America accepting bitcoins or having bitcoin ATMs etc, but now it is coming in Asia as well so it would be an interesting time to see bitcoin spreading around.

The rules are simple,the school is requested to reverse places for rich kids and business magnates by serving huge bribes as donations.Now according to the government rule,it's a crime.The Income Tax depratment can always raise questions about it.Bitcoins saved their life.Not blaming them but it could work both ways!

Great news. I thought that schools and other educational facilities would be the last to accept the Bitcoin. So, this is good message to other puble institutions. And it's good for Bitcoin reputation because some people are linking it only to gamr and dark markets. And this is something for the public good.

I remember hearing about a university in Cyprus, and another in the UK, that began accepting BTC. It was a year or more ago though, I have no links for those.

The school I teach at will take bitcoin. It hasn't happened so far, but the owners have some BTC and they see the light.  8)

It doesn't matter. India soon will be Bitcoin super power along with the China. For example: recently Zee News one of the largest Indian news networks presented show about bitcoin.
They hinted that Bitcoin has potential to reach $10k soon. Cryptocurrency is becoming very popular form of investment in India and it is only a beginning.

Bitcoin is more needed in India with it's overall poor citizens and millions of people < 233 million in 2015 > that are excluded from the banking system. < The so-called unbanked  > So the fact that schools in India are accepting and using this technology, is a giant step forward for them. In my country there were also some schools who currently are accepting bitcoin as payment but i wasn't really sure if they directly accepts bitcoin because i only saw it on the online wallet that i've been using even some bills like electricity this certain online wallet can somehow provide which is a good thing.

Do you mind sharing which school you are teaching at? I have heard about colleges and universities offering students the opportunity to pay for course fees and tuition fees with Bitcoin so Bitcoin is gaining popularity among higher education institutions as well. I have heard  also that people can take a course about Bitcoin 101 and pay for it with Bitcoin so cool  :D

I checked your links and those news from 2014 and i am glad it   and the world system is changing and bitcoin can use  for every area also i felt happier  because bitcoin is serving  the education system and students can pay their tuition fees it is so beautiful news .

The article is a year old and it seems more like a publicity stunt.
They are using a payment processor to accept/convert bitcoins into fiat.

If you get more people onboard by using that argument, they might get deceived to wait that long and they'll end frustrated and anti-Bitcoin.

Although it's just a very small step it's one in the right direction and highly encouraging. The school seems to be one for the upper class. So I think there was already demand for adding this kind of payment option from the "educated elite".

This fits well to my assessment that India will be the emerging nation that will see the most rapid Bitcoin adoption. The more liberal governance and the official encouragement to use modern technologies as well as efforts to improve the technological infrastructure will be beneficial. Good news. Bitcoin as a digital currency has got more acceptance in grown countries. Now this initiation of bitcoin acceptance in a school located in a growing country really gets the attention of lots to focus more on digital currency usage.

Just before 1 hour i was wondering if there is school our hotel that accept bitcoin. And aftr seeing the post i am really happy because I want to see bitcoin development as this is a new technology in money transfer and storage. Back in the day I think lunch line deposits could be made in BTC virtually at my original school. Not sure if the provider offers this, but in truth try getting a Bitcoin debit card and seap through that way if payments are able to be made with one.

Well, it is not the first school or university which accepts Bitcoin for paying the fees or tuition.

India is doing great with bitcoins regardless of their strict RBI regulations. But compared to Indonesia, India has less number of bitcoin adopting users and merchants. Indians have very strict policies for using PayPal, maybe this type of restrictions from their government may push them to adopt bitcoin more rapidly in mass.

Well i live in Cyprus and the Univercity of Nicosia was the first ever university to accept student fees payable in bitcoin and they even do a crypto currency course I saw as well. I think it's a clever move myself for schools and colleges, universities to accept Bitcoin.

Hospital would be a great idea. Especially with how much those dam
bills can cost. Even just co pays would be nice. My buddy was telling me
he had a tooth pulled and the dentist didn't take bitcoin "publicly" but when
my friend said I wish you took bitcoin before paying he said "I can take bitcoin
for it" and he ended up paying cash half and bitcoin half.  I think it was just a few
hundred dollars but still cool.

I think this is the same thing here in my country though I heard one big and popular school is now accepting Bitcoin as a payment form in lieu of cash. This is actually a very good trend as we can be seeing more and more merchants riding with the Bitcoin bandwagon. Keep in mind they use the word "school fees" which can be related to miscellaneous fees not to the word "tuition fees". With that I can understand as handling misc fees with Bitcoin which is a lot cheaper than a tuition fee is good as this school anticipated the fluctuations it can do. But its os cool to see an international school accept bitcoin as a mode of payment. Hoping to see more.

This initself is not all that interesting, for me at least , because it's in India and probably won't really catch on in the rest of the world.

But I could see potential for it, for example in universities who are willing to do courses with Bitcoin/cryptocurrency as a subject.
It would make sense for them to also accept tuition in Bitcoin, so it could be used during those classes.

Its pretty cool if some school accepts bitcoins as tuitiin fee, misceleneous fee and etc.  Many students can be able to attend school if they do that.. why? Bevause if you are dedicated in earning bitcoins, there's  a lot of ways to earn bitcoins. They can collect satoshi. I know that collecting was not enough to sustain educational needs but at least it can help to at least for a school supplies.

One day, everything can be paid for with Bitcoins or any other cryptocurrency. Paper money will be obsolete in the future hence we must move to another medium of payment, which will be electronic currency.

You are talking  about  coins.ph  wallet   hence they  do really accept  bitcoins as a  payment   for tuition fees. I dont  really  know  on what would be the process  hence i  dont intend  to  use it. Its either  bitcoins are  directly sent to them/school  or  on  the  wallet  provider and they are the  ones  who would process because  as  far as i know they  need  5 days to confirm thats such transaction.

Well I hope so too, I'm looking forward to the future where bitcoin is widely accepted not just in a small number of schools like right now but it's good to hear that a school has started using bitcoin. That actually makes a lot of sense, there is no University offering a course in it and there actually needs a course. There is to much confusion regarding Bitcoin. But I feel this is a positive start, and especially if you are reading news btc is selling at a high premium in India so looks like India is racing ahead with Bitcoin.

I don't think that schools here in my country will be accepting btc as a mode of payment specially the tuition. Maybe a big plan if government will do a program in order to adapt this kind of currency which is the crypto currency. Even if I had the opportunity to pay school with btcs I wouldn't. You will waste a lot of btcs paying the school, next 2 or 3 months, the btc price can increase a lot and all of them went to the school. They made all the profit and you just lost your coins.

Yeah this is good move from the school directorate, Why not all the people are not accepting bitcoins like wallmart or wallgreens or etc.. Like education department accepting bitcoins means why not these commercial places not yet accepted. Its a big worry.

That is most definitely one of the best ideas I have ever heard. Mix bitcoin with education. Spread awareness bery quickly among students then the student tell their parents so that is a good way to spread knowledge and ise of bitcoin in a practical and useful way. well there's nothing wrong with it, the school will eventually need to convert the bitcoin to local fiat, so why not just convert it directly to fiat for every bitcoin received,though at the end the function will be the same,students spending bitcoin to fulfill their education needs

We have also the same feature like that in our country but in a different way. It's not a direct payment to a school but can be done by using local exchange services.

One of the local exchanges here in our country has a service of using our bitcoin in paying bills payment and that includes tuition fees in selected popular universities here. Right now only 3 universities is on the list and IIRC since the commencement of operations of this local exchange, no additional universities has been added since then.

This is an awesome thing. a school will attract a lot of users bitcoin. each student may someday be required to have bitcoin wallet for a monthly fee. it is a dream in the future. bitcoin developments will occur if all of this a reality.

Yeah indeed we have a pretty good thinking in the bitcoin, however it is also not yet sure they understand what we mean. because everyone has a point of view way sometimes differs from the path we think. so just look at how they can better get to know bitcoin with doing the promotion or advertising of some larger profits in the bitcoin compared with other currencies. Bitcoin requires processes that are extremely long so should could wait well

It's getting better to hear more people talking about accepting Bitcoin every day, however there are still things that have to be done and barriers that have to be crossed before we can really get it going through people's lives. As much as I hate to be critical about things like this, a school is just one step. There's still a marathon to run.

Yeah bitcoin now is making it's name in many businesses and transactions around the globe. But we cannot disregard the challenges ahead that will be faced by bitcoin and its users. Yes there's still a marathon to run and we as bitcoin users should face this race so bitcoin could move on towards it's rise. We can do this by helping the community to grow and make bitcoin be known and accepted by everyone.

Great to see such thing's happening in Asian countries too because always seen countries from USA accepting the Bitcoin or having Bitcoin easy to withdraw the atm machine or bank etc but now if the Asian interesting to join or spreading  Bitcoin and also to gave a time all around.

Thats good to know because it really rare to see school that follows what is the latest trend if its reallh true. Hope to see more of it not only schools but all establishments. Bitcoin is really helpful if they see what benefits they can get by having this especialy on business.

There might be a  problem or stoppage on bitcoins adoption like banning on a certain country but still we cant really stop if people or merchants or investors would see bitcoin because if they saw bitcoins potential they will surely adopt it and if it happens awareness of people will surely spread and merchants will surely adopt it because its on demand and they could see opportunity to make money and regarding on bitcoin on schools its really a good thing.

Its a good thing if the school is accepting bitcoin as payment for the tuition fee for the students, because the student parents will become aware about in bitcoin and if that happen the market price of it will more increasing and the investors will be happy, Cheers!

The news is 1 year old, but it is really good to know that bitcoin is gaining nice traction in India and that institutions are accepting bitcoin into their payment system. This will motivate people to get into bitcoin and ultimately into the other crypto coins.

I haven't heard about this news before reading about it in this thread and will be sharing it to my friends. The Demonetization move by the Indian Government has already attracted a lot of users to get into cashless payment and everything is in place for the bitcoin to grow and thrive in INDIA!

Well, maybe principals in these schools understand how to use bitcoin so that they accept bitcoin. I also think that people who use bitcoin certainly want to go to school in the stretcher school, because it was the main attraction for people with bitcoin sentence, and it might improve their abilities regarding bitcoin

yeah its really very good that school accepting bitcoin and now we will be never face to problem during to paying our fees in bitcoin and i hope that hospital will be also accepting bitcoin in the future and i think bitcoin will be sooner conquer the world.

This is really cool! School that accepting bit coin is a good idea. I don't know if its true but wise move for school to accept bitcoin because it popular right now. I saw someone post here that there was a school newspaper articles about bitcoin. Then I see this post. I guess its a good start for bitcoin. yeah it's good to hear this ;D This will not only give children and even adults more knowledge about bitcoin and encourage them to use bitcoin but it also make a huge change in some people's thoughts. thats actually pretty cool, but i doubt that a small school accepting school fees in bitcoin does anything for bitcoin. Would be kind of tedious for the parents to pay fees with a currency thats volatile and fluctuates every day.

It is sound good that there is appear a first school accept bitcoin as alternative way to pay annual fees. The parents or even the students can pay fees with their bitcoin so easy only by themselves if they have bitcoin ;D good option enough to bitcoin becomes more easy using and as way to interest the other people with bitcoin.

That’s really great news, I wish kids should learn about bitcoin and crypto currency technology along with the digital fiat wallets. Further, I think to increase the awareness about this technology there should be some sort of promotion from merchants (and customers too) because both are inter dependent and if merchants starts accepting bitcoin then customers will also start looking more about it. Well after seeing this school we i mean we friends had adviced one of the local school to accept bitcoin and we had explain all about bitcoin and we hope they will also adopt soon.

Oh its a great idea for a school to accept bitcoin payment  because it make use of our technology which our computers of modern days and it eliminates hassle of transactions in school specially with accounting process. This would be great plans for the future in our country because theres a convenience store which started to have online wallet transaction booth which can be also implemented in schools to use bitcoin payment.

That's a commendable step taken by the school although it's doubtful if everyone in India owns that many bitcoins to pay for hefty school fee. But again the move must be appreciated and encouraged as such things only can bring more awareness among the masses towards adopting this wonderful digital currency. Well as far as I know in some other countries who are open into bitcoin system I heard that there is a university who accepted bitcoin, and some altcoins are planning to accept bitcoin in university which is the leocoin, it is one of their project.

It's a great thing that there is now school accepting bitcoin, aside from it's hassle free it has less transaction cost compared to other online transfer. I am excited for the next years to come. I hope here in our country we will have it too not only in private school but even in smaller school. This is one way to enhance bitcoin.

That's right if the impacts weren't going to be overwhelming and will not do that much to bitcoin, but it's not kind of tedious for the parents if they were paying the educational fees with bitcoin. the fluctuation may make them pay even lesser than through usual currency or even higher. such a risky indeed

I think this is a very interesting developement.
Karnataka is in India, and exactly there is so much potential for bitcoin.
Of course it's just the school fees that can be paid with btc.
But it shows that somewhere in the organisational levels of that school is someone who has an idea of what bitcoin is and what it can achieve.
Maybe that person can pass his knowledge down to some students.
