Poloniex is my only trading platform.at present all the altcoins in polo are experiencing a huge correction and probably are trading at their 52 week low due to the bitcoin rally.is it the correct time to double the investment to maximize the returns ?what is the best portfolio for 4btc investment?

Since you are a newbie I should write why ;)

- Sophisticated Coin
- Strong community
- Good Ecosystem (things can be bought with it directly -> DNM)
- Reliable developers
- Very good features implemented (soon: Kovri, RingCT)
- It is very cheap at the moment.

You could try to wait if the price will hit something 0.005x but if you are looking for a coin with profit in the medium/long run, buy XMR now.

I want to add something. BTC will crash for sure. It rises way to fast. Another panic sell of BTC will occur soon.
Conclusion: DNM is a Billion Dollar market mostly with escrow. Vendors will -like always in the past- complain about losing money every day.(That time with BTC, before it was XMR)
Meanwhile XMR will rise in price (for sure). That will just help to make a transition from BTC to XMR.

i'd wait a short while to see what bitcoin has planned. if it really decides to go crazy that'll cause alts to dip further. and then they themselves might go crazy, but I dunno. they've been pumping like mad all year when bitcoin hasn't been doing very much at all.

There is just one Bitcoin, presently it is the sanctuary to hide your asset.

I wise bitcoiner would buy altcoins to withdraw more bitcoins after ;) ! Why frankly would one keep money in altcoins except to see them gaining value and reselling them ?

this week, nothing is good. and all the altcoins are super risky to invest in because they are all falling due to investors taking their money out of this market to join in the bitcoin price rise.

if you want to invest in altcoins be careful, currently it is super risky but at the same time a good chance to buy cheap coins which will soon rise again. just wait for the bottom prices.


this is a clear case of FUD and crap post about bitcoin.
and also this type of posts are the reason why coins like XMR don't grow. i like Monero and i support it but i am not going to ever spread lies about monero or bitcoin to desperately cause a rise probably :)

Best would not be the appropriate term but rather something interesting to try. Those other alts can't be tagged as the best since their price is a matter of pumps and dumps. And doubling the investment doesn't have the right time but rather right tyming and ability to take a ride when there is a pumping scene.

Since Polo only listing coins that has active volumes, I suggest choosing those alts that has established a daily active volume.

I watched that XMR and LSK have dropped a lot due to the last Bitcoin bump, maybe Zcash had its effect on Monero, but the price is recovering after it dropped under $5, it is good time to buy as both Monero and Lisk are getting more adoption, and they might rise up later.

Meanwhile XMR rose 22% and BTC fell 2%
So much FUD  ::)

Last couple days were a good opportunity to pick up some cheap alts.
I grabbed some Lisk, Augur and Factom.
Hopefully at least one of these pans out.
(I'm looking for a long term investment, not a quick flip.)

i also think it is a good time to pick some cheap coins from altcoin markets these days but also i am a little scared that this drop is not going to stop here.

especially in some of the bigger coins. in smaller ones, sure it is possible that it was the end of it but in bigger coins, with bigger $$$ all that money is flying out back to bitcoin these days.

Monero is a good one most likely its gonna be more used in the future and due to that it will also be worth more, the same rule applies for Zcash it can become big and the market is also pretty good.

Best coin to buy probably isn't on polo though because coins listed there are pumped already. Polo-coins are actually higher risk than those not listed there after all these months of pumping.

most of the coins are good to buy right now because they all had a big dip one way or another. all these coins must come back up now. and some of them had already started doing so.

but i particularly have my eyes on Litecoin, Monero and ETH + ETC

Monero - if the price comes down a little bit more.

And perhaps shadowcoin, because I think that this coin will rise like monero in the past, when the shadowcoin market will be ready to use.

SDC was proven to be a scam. (look .tk archive). SDC will not become a "big thing".
I like the idea but is has to be done by a new team and with better features.

i don't think this is the right time to make investment because almost all altcoin has decrease too much for the price. rather to make middle and long investment, i will go with short investment because i think we don't want to keep the coins too long when we can see that the price is going up and down quickly, better to play safe and still to make some profit.

you should have said these 3 days ago, right now it is actually a good time to get in many of the altcoins because the down trend has stopped and it has been a while. right now if you do a quick check you can see all the green upward changes for most of them.


only a fool would sell bitcoin for USDT which is USD equivalent at this point

i have recently look at poloniex exchange indeed some altcoins still have down trend and some of them such as ZEC,ETH,ETC or STEEM still unsteady and i have to says that currently still very difficult to find the exact altcoins to be invest especially for long term but in my opinion Do not in a hurry to buy particular altcoins and if you not really sure just keep your Bitcoin at those exchange and waiting next altcoins who have potential to got profit

Is anyone buying ETC?
I know there has been some interest from some Chinese investors to use ETC in a few projects.
Price has been stable and there has been a decent volume. Anyone predicting a rise in price for Eth Classic?

The ETC does not have active developments. It just copies the code from Ethereum. So it is quite risky.

I would buy DOGE, it goes 31 sat to 35 sat. I think somebody planned to pump it, maybe we see 40 sat soon.
I'm also interested XMR, price is lowered since latest events. I don't know other coins, there are a lot of them in the market. You can't follow every coin.

Stratis , Lisk, Waves, All theese coins will see x2+++ within 2017. Mark my words.

I don't think there is any news coming that will drive the price up again this year, but it the price hit a region of 20-30sat, it is a good buy for long term investment, remember when it was trading above 200sat

don't count too much on the news you hear about "projects with altcoins" and that goes for all the altcoins out there because there really isn't any real project that can be done with altcoins and it never changes anything in the future of them. they remain the same pump and dump forever. especially a coin like ethereum (classic or other chain) which has so many bugs in the code.

yes and for now, i think its the best time to collect some coins because i see that there is much of opportunity for us to get profit. like dgb, nsr, xdn, xvc, btcd, its have a good price when i see on the poloniex market. actually, i already have stock for that coins and i just waited for a good price to sell it.

I wish I got into Lisk and Waves earlier,
but I'm pretty new to altcoin trading.
I feel like both of these projects could get big.

i don't know Stratis but i agree with Lisk and Waves they have been showing some signs of a break out.

and right now i think there are three coins that i should watch myself ant they are LTC, ETH and XMR because i have got a feeling that they are going to get pumped real hard.

Lisk and Waves are rising because there are side projects to pump them. I still don't trust both of the projects but we may see bigger prices because of these projects. For example if you use Lisk to join new ICO you get more bonuses. That's why people demand Lisk. For Waves there's a rumor that full node is finished already and we'll see it next days.

I am investing very low on bitcoin mining earnings (which they say you can no longer do without expensive machines, but in the winter it's the same electricity as heating your house).  I've bought lbry, curecoin, steem, doge, ripple, synereo, and digibyte.  All are very cheap and portfolio is going up since I've been buying them over the last week.

One of the best coins that have a large daily trading volume I consider ethereum and seeing it on poloniex the trading volume is ~9,000BTC and ~400BTC on yobit so trading this coin is not bad, also recently the zcash seems good too.

I think we have good opportunity to buy Ethereum because the price is low, and for sure it will increase during the next year, Ethereum obtains new interests and adoptions, I believe it will pump next year.

Have been looking into GAME lately, a lot of things coming within the next year.  No hype, just production.  Gaming and crypto are meant for each other and GAME just might get out on top.  Decently priced right now in my opinion as well.  Either way good luck.

But that's the thing,  they're all junk.  It doesn't mean it's impossible to profit from any of them, but you have to get in and out quickly.   Frankly I wouldn't touch any of them right now.

Most coins in Poloniex are junk and overpriced. I don't mind buying junk coins but not at these overvalued price. XVC crashed on Thursday after a long period of slow downtrend.
I am holding my bitcoin till most coins are below 10k satoshi again. Then maybe it will be time to accumulate some of those cheap altcoins.

You are right. Most of the coins in the Polonix is junk or scam coins. They do not have active developments.
