Title: Bitcoin as religion
Post by: kongosplit on October 31, 2016, 06:43:52 AM
Hi guys,

Well not sure if this topic is exactly where I want to post but let's see what is happening.

Did you ever had into your head the ideea of making bitcoin as a religion?

For sure many users were thinking and for sure here must be even topics with title or ideeas like this.

In this world is quite easy to do a religion. Everyone is able to that, but not so many are doing it.

Let's start with some non normal religions:

Scientology - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology - Everyone know a little things about this shit but if you wanna be here you must be reach :)) - just jocking.

Creativity Movement - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creativity_(religion) - Actually this guys are atheistics but however

Nation of Yahweh - this is the most funniest for me, please if you are trully intersted do your own researches about this :))

The Church of Euthanasia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_of_Euthanasia - SAVE THE PLANET, KILL YOURSELF..cmon guys.. this one is brilliant

In any cases more and more religions are on the market.. Starting with beer heaven or spagetti as god (no italians accepted :D ).

Now let's think big. Let's think about Bitcoin as a religion. Who will be the god  ? It will be a heaven? It will be a hell? This is the reason of this topic and what I'm thinking we can debate.

Bitcoin and Religion is two big different things that should not be complicated. I think Bitcoin is still like other money we use in our day to day living, but Bitcoin looks to have more value than others. So it is different from religion and we can not worship money.

I do not understand why compare these two things? what to do with something a cult? Bitcoin has its place - it is only a means of payment and the object for investment

If we want bitcoin to actually break through, we have to stop treating it as something really special or divine.

Do you have a bike to sell? Casually mention that you accept bitcoin.
Do you want to buy a computer? Ask if you can pay for it with bitcoin.

Making bitcoin a religious thing will only ensure that we stay in secret tree house-status even longer.

Well, anarchism can be a religion. But bitcoin as a religion? I don't think so. Satoshi only wanted it to be a payment gateway that can be used by everyone in the world, not something people pray to everyday.

But I can get why you don't want to think big. You're just blocked at a few ideeas but the point of having a payment as religion. Think about this. Money are the biggest religion in the world actually. Everyone want to have money in their pocket and everytime they want more and more money to have. So in my point of view bicoin can be too a religion. But religions must have some rules, that's what I wanted to debate. It's kind of easy to make in one day a religion legal in Europe and in some countries even to get money from goverments because your having that religion in addition I really want to be in , if an ideea like this will become greater.

Thanks.

I think Bitcoin can become a part of religion or some mystical knowledge, at least. That reminds me of Pythagoreans who admired numbers and thought of them as of entities, constructing our life. So, Bitcoin can't become a religion as we usually understand it, with God, Hell and Heaven. It can rather be thought as some Principle which is regulating relations between people and some ideal thing (number) being extremely important for physical life.

The paramount importance - it is not a religion. Therefore, I personally believe that Bitcoin can not become a religion. It was created by smart people who think rationally and do not buudut cult of this
