Then the official bitdefender website will give you a unique download link for you. Keys are probably going to work without issues even though they illegally obtained because BitDefender is known for not doing anything against them AFAIK . I guess you guessed just by the way he answered me. Its not logical for someone to sell keys for 3.99$ while their actual price is 39.99$ on the official BitDefender website anyway.
