What is Pure Vidz?
Pure Vidz is a video streaming protocol modeled after the successful platform known as Youtube however, built upon and around the decentralized platform that is Torrents. Pure Vidz utilizes Web Torrent technology to deliver an immersive viewing experience allowing us to provide you with a variety of content such as TV Shows, Movies and even personal videos without us or you needing to worry about the legal ramifications of hosting or viewing said content. Due to the nature of Torrents, Pure Vidz actually does not host any videos directly on its platform but rather provides a well refined index of tags, playlists and user profiles making it easy to upload or view whatever it is you desire.


Since anyone can make a torrent, it’s very easy to turn Pure Vidz into your own personal site for managing video blogs or custom entertainment content as so many Youtubers do today in modern day society. Unlike Youtube, you won’t have to worry about your videos randomly being taken down as personally uploaded videos are dependent on your initial seeding of the video files until it propagates throughout the network as others download your video and begin seeding it as well.


Pure Vidz through use of its decentralized torrent network solves problems such as the many free movie or tv show websites that require you to click through 100 mirrors only to realize the majority of them are broken links and were taken down due to DMCA take downs. At Pure Vidz you won’t have to worry about this because there is no true one host for the video files since they exist on a distributed torrent network of people seeding the files. Unlike traditional streaming websites where quality degrades with more people watching due to server bandwidth consumption, at Pure Vidz it’s the complete opposite and built to scale where the more people watching a video will actually improve loading times to be faster due to the number of seeders increasing!

Due to the fact that Pure Vidz heavily utilizes torrents to circumvent censorship and to promote decentralization it’s likely that with increased popularity Pure Vidz will be under siege the way that popular sites such as The Pirate Bay constantly are despite our model being entirely legal. To avoid this, we’re forced to remain anonymous.

We’re aware the anonymity is often a red-flag typically for developers, however since we are forced to do this to protect ourselves, we will do our best to maintain transparency through means such as escrow, multi-signature wallets and public addresses

...how many 'youtube' altcoins are going to rise and fall before we accept the fact that YouTube isn't going anywhere?  There are too many hurdles at this point to achieve mainstream adoption.  LBRY almost had it, until their reddit AMA (which blew up in their face with one question  :D )

I see you mention a distributed torrent network, does that therefore mean that pure vids is decentralized? I dont understand and if so then how can you make any money besides the givens like advertising, paid programming ect.

This is truly a great idea, not so much for the developed world where most of us ( not me) use netflix or hulu or other monthly paid membership sites. But for thoses who like to free stream their tv from sites like putlocker and megashare. The problem with those sites and I hope Purevidz can fix is that amount of broken links, and play buttons I need to click through to find the real feed. Sometimes I need to open up 5 or 10 tabs just to get one working link from putlocker. Its really annoying.

If you guys fix this and figure out a way around it and also have a large selection of content this this can blow up huge and be the first decentralized streaming site.

I understand what you're trying to accomplish with this but what if the Pure Vidz domain is attacked or taken down. They don't need to legally win against you, all they need to do is get the domain seized, ddosed or whatever.

Can you please explain how you expect to go around this.

Trakt is a service that tracks what you are watching. Think of it a bit like 'goodreads for video'. By rating the media you are watching it will make suggestions for what you may want to watch next, it will track your progress in a video, it allows you to create lists of things you plan to watch in the future and more. It's a proven system that is used across many different media centers and would be a great way for us to extend the user features of the website.

Seeing as many of the functions will be duplicates of things already built into the user account management for the site, it is considered lower priority and therefor pushed back in the timeline until everything more important is completed.


That is always a threat but as proven by many different sites (for example the pirate bay), there are many ways to mitigate and bypass those issues. This includes but is not limited to...

-Strong filtering of malicious traffic through services such as cloudflair.
-Creating a hub to redirect or inform users of any domain changes in the case of one being seized or interfered with.
-Decentralized website by publishing updates as their own torrent files (experimental)

To touch on the final point - there are a number of projects which seek to protect against single point of failures by essentially making the website itself a torrent which is loaded from peers in your browser. This allows anyone to view the full, up to date website without having to access any single server, domain or host.

Web2Web is a primitive but working example of serverless and domainless websites. In their implementation they utilize the bitcoin blockchain to get a magnet link of the most recent version of the website. It then torrents in the relevant website data to display the site itself.

When will the real announcement be online and when is the ico starting? I also need to know if the excrows you mentioned will be on this thread to confirm because if they dont you wont get any money.

This one actually looks real good if the story about dabs being an escrow is true and you can actually build the service. What kind of development skills does the team have, what languages can you code in. Do you have a portfolio of previous work? Im waiting for your answer to my questions and waiting to see if this is LAF (Legit as fuck) or just another scam ico coin.
