Title: Adding/Changing priority of a pool in a S3
Post by: paramind22 on November 06, 2016, 04:33:57 PM
I would like to add another pool and change the order.  I did that in the config page of the miner, and added my BTC address to the pool's web interface but it is not accepting it yet.  Does it take a while?  Or, do I have to restart the miner, do something in the config page of the miner to reset it to act differently and change the order/add a pool?

If you add a second pool to your miner configuration, it acts as a backup.
Meaning the miner will be active on only one pool at a time.

Whichever pool is in the top slot will have priority.

No restarts are necessary, just save the settings and you should be good to go.

Thanks.

I must be doing something wrong.  For some reason, when I saved and applied, it didn't show up in miner status.  The
miner stopped eventually and beeped.  I turned it off and on again and I'm using the old pool.

I did it twice like this and it didn't take.  One possibility may be that my new BTC address with my green wallet is wrong.  I don't
like the way addresses are re-assigned, it seems like a hack.  I noticed coinbase does this, and with green wallet, when I
booted up the app, the address it listed for me was different than the one they gave me last time.

No idea what a green wallet is but you can't mine straight to a wallet address. Each pool will give you details on where to point the miner to and usually you have a username and worker name you need to put in the miner config page aswell.
