If you want cheap but with a lot of usage and features I recommend Victoriouscoin (Vty)

What do you mean by hot? Hot in terms of volume or Hot in terms of bright future but the current price isn't interesting at this time?

Honestly mine, myself can't even point out the specific alts that I will recommend to others. Im just playing with the new coins at ICO and take advantage of the pump and dump. Last one I tried is PSB which now has the status of price correction.

Currently I have an active trades at ETH, Monero, LISK and my favorite one is NEM.

Hot? Zcash... but nobody should buy it  :P
if you want to invest i would recommend you xvc, waves and nav(maybe even ICN).

XVC is about to launch zeroledger.
Waves is about to launch their nodes.
Nav is a hold, good project and good devs but a big roadmap to develop.

but that's my opinion, have a look at their ann thread, search a little and make your own conclusions.

There are many good alts to buy right now at a very nice bottomed price.
A good one may be Syscoin, based on their Q4 2016 roadmap.

I would say wait for Wings ICO, The sales starts in a week or so.

You don't need to look further than these projects. They have good and solid fundamentals to drive the price up

There are good options but it's up to you. If you simple buy what people say to you, you will probably have big losses.
Right now, i'm investing in decred and vcash and about to buy some NEM too. in my opinion these are the best right now.

Monero seems like a pretty safe investment at this point.
Although there was a dip, the release of Zcash didn't kill it.
I think a lot of people are starting to realize its a good technology and I would be very surprised if it dipped below the $5 mark again.

Vdice, Ethereum, ICN. It all depends on how much time you want to wait,  all of those coins I said before can have future maybe I'm wrong but you can research for yourself.

If it has to be an alt then Litecoin, otherwise stick to BTC.

If you want to profit on exchanges I highly recommend the top 5 in the coinmarketcap
if you want to play lottery and games where you can win coins then rbies and bash
and if you want a good return of your investment with then Victoriouscoin ..

It's up to you on what your preference.

I think this is a good advise, go get from the top 5 in coinmarketcap as it is almost stable and quite safe. You can try others but of corse,be always aware or risks. For fast trading you can try the top coins in every exchanges in terms of volume maybe.

My recent transactions include into ETH, Dash, and BURSTcoin.

For me it's at bash,victoriouscoin and those on the top 5 on coinmarketcap,you have to vary your investment from short term to long term investment but in my opinion all of them are profitable.

So far in my opinion, try to invest in ltc by now or ethereum the price value has been decrease for almost 1% its a good thing to invest in. or You can also invest nem/xem it is also nice to invest in too.

most altcoins are the same in trading and their pump and dumps but some of them are better than others.

right now i believe that Ethereum is due for a new huge pump to the moon because it has been a while since it went up.

I know Op want to invest in altcoin but what is wrong with Bitcoin investing? It is the most solid way of investing after all.

About altcoin I think Zcash is something interesting. Zcash - just started with its 'slow start'.
It means that reward for mined block will be rising, instead of standard system most other coins use when block reward is halved.
Zcash the best coin to mine right now. Also because the best way to mine it is to actually use your GPU or CPU, ASIC mining is impossible.

I want to recommend you ARK, SDC, STRATIS and WAVES.
those 4 will be great in 2017. i'm sure.

It is, Eth price now is very low but eth coin will be hard to develop again, the trust level is so low, and my prediction eth price won't be up quickly, i prefer to choose to invest at another coin like Monero and Dash, monero seems quite good for investment this year

Lol, why??  From the perspective of buying low, that might be a good idea, but where's the potential in Lisk?  It flopped immediately after being shat upon the market and it's not looking too hot.  In fact it's not looking hot for any of these coins.  OP, why not just buy some bitcoin.  You'll probably end up doing better.

instead of asking others to help you out which will lead to you buying into their sell orders and getting dumped on, maybe it is better if you start learning how to find these things out yourself.
go on an exchange and start looking at charts, read some trading resources and start learning some analysis and then find out coins with higher volume and get in at the bottom.

i think lisk soon will rise, ethereum too , and obviously monero !

If you need to ask which alt to gamble on then don't invest/gamble at all.

Well OP, the best advice is to investigate yourself and decide wether you invest into an altcoin or not. I've looked through this topic and have seen at least 15 different altcoins mentioned. It is however quite easy to notice the difference between shitcoins and crypto that actually has the potential to grow into a major phenomenom. However, the 'promising' coins are also very tricky to invest in. I'll take AMP (Synereo) for example; this coin looked quite solid until recently, but internal friction in the dev team has caused the price to nosedive bigtime and a recovery isn't certain at this point. In a nutshell: altcoins are basically a minefield.

There is nothing altcoins trusted to do long-term investment.
But you can play with some of the altcoins by keeping your eyes open everytime you are on buy position in trading.
Its a wild investment with dump and bump system.

Check out MINT. Good value long-term coin.

Lisk are bad, I don't see anything was being good from lisk. You're right if lisk hasn't had any potential. ICN was better than lisk, They have more potential than lisk. Bitcoin still be the hot coins everytime.  ;)

Lisk started out good and that was all its potential and ran out of it pretty soon. and I remember it was mostly because of yobit scam that it even got the smallest tractions, back then even before Lisk release yobit added the coin (or better say added air) to their exchange and started pumping the shit out of it and make lots of money themselves.

Atomic coin is really doing well for itself just look at it on yobit.
There is low volume coins like crab and b3 or 808 that are doing well too although 808 has lost value lately.
XDE2 is a great altcoin as well.

For now, project that I'm sure are going to make real profit soon, ICONOMI, SNGLS, INCENT and VDice. The time has come to get real with our investment

Iconomi soon, ICNP and ICNF will get launch at the end of december and let's see how many it worth. Incent and Vdice the other was better also. 

That is a good list. You might want to add simple cash and space cash to it though.I am also interested in those coins you say that is why I give you a recommendation.

XDE2 is great tho, no ico, no mine, just posting and promote about them and you will get the coins, fast, easy and worthy coins

It should immediately be purchased out of the top 20 in proportion to the cap

These are just my ideas :

- XAU => i don't know if the mine is open, but you can invest there, the project is valid, the team is crystal clear, no worries.
- LSK => i don't know exactly what they are doing, nor where they are now, so, i don't know, but people talk a lot about them.
- WAVE => they are about to release some major features ( if not aleready done), you should consider investing here as their growth may be interesting.
- Bitcoin => the best value here, check low volume exchanges, this way the price will dimp quickly ;)
- LTC => The price is stable for now, it may drop but apparently people are aware that they are the most serious Alt.
- AUGUR => i know nothing about them. Complete VOID.
- RIPPLE => they are climbing right now, there may be some interesting deals with them, but they are centralised.
- DASH => the first X11, they had been pumped recently, you should consider them as they are very important in both acceptance and growth.
- STEEM => you can buy, but not now as people are powering down, wait untill the price beggins to climb again, buy, and when the powering down starts, sell.

These informations are comming mainly from coinmarketcap 7days charts. Plus some infos i catched in the forum, for the rest you can just hook to the concerned topics.

ETH cause in coinmarketcap he still in 2nd position under bitcoin and maybe will return to the normal price ($10-$11) or select from top 10 in coinmarketcap

ETH can be the option beside of ETC, XMR, LTC, DASH, XRP. i would prefer to invest in big coins and big community like i mention because i think we should not worried if in bad situation the devs is runaway from the projects. but from all altcoin investment, for me, making investment in BTC is the best investment we can have beside of altcoin investment because BTC is really a good solution in long term.

But seems like we need ignoring the bitcoin from the list, caused by the mother of crypto won't be suitable to stand with a child coin like an alt.

LTC, AUGUR, RIPPLE and DASH was better than the other was standing on your list. but overall the average list coin was so promising .

How about Komodo? It did good with its campaign here and now giving bonuses to those who are joining them or who have joined. I think it can give a good blast at its price hike. Thanks to those offers.

Id rather advise you not to follow too much this kind of coin, they are copy/paste of several projects.
For me LSK WAVE NXT ARD KOMODO are all made by the same people, just look at the technologies used, i forgot to mention the RISE also.
Bitconnect is a good investment opportunity, the ICO will end in 18 days and they have gathered 900 BTC, you should check it. ICOs are a good way to make money out of projects, but you should really take care not to invest in scam projects, check the backgrounds of both project and team, use whois to confirm the identities, and once you are done with this, you can make your minde.

In my opinion it is better to check the coin market cap which is you can see the top 20 altcoin and choose what altcoin that fits to you.. i just holding 6 altcoin there monero litecoin and doge and other altcoin..

Well, this time very many good choices in investment, like coins that developed ico. so many coins that have the potential for this moment, but if you're looking for a coin in a longer period of time, perhaps xaur, litecoin, doge, eth could be one of your choice.

For me the best altcoin investment so far is eth and those icos , newly born coins are really good they have bonuses when you are going to buy their coins Hmm and time will come that this coin will be huge and will be expensive once it will realease on market place. This also had big potencial to grow fast.

I believe in two years time most of these Altcoins will be history, but some have solid fundamentals and strong team behind them, Like ICONOMI, SNGLs and GOlem

What ICO'S you talking about? ETH is not a good investment now after the shambles of the past and showing their true colors.

If you're looking to invest in what is hot at the moment, then most likely you've already missed the boat.

He was speaking about the token based on the ethereum platform. Even if what are you saying was true and ETH won't be losing the demand.  So keep realize with all of the things already happen.

due to the bitcoin pump, they have only raised ~50k in the first week, but high hopes of this one, one of the developers is an ex-microsoft developer.

All this talk of ICOs and alts primed for pump makes me wonder if 2017 really is going to be the end of worthless pump and dump coins and their blatant ICO schemes. If all the failures especially during the course of the year has not sounded the death knell, then I don't know what will.
