Since the low in January 2015, the price of Bitcoin has been increasing at a very consistent rate of about 6% per month. As shown on the graph below, the price should hit $1000 in June 2017 (+/- 2 months or so) if it continues at this pace.

nice graph. 6% monthly is roughly doubling in a year.
I would be totally OK with 100%/year for a decade (it would be roughly 1000-fold increase), then flat.
However, 2012 also saw roughly doubling (maybe tripling), then a spike in 2013 and a crash in 2014.
To me, this is more likely: either spike then crash or crash, then spike.

Analysis is good it helps us to track and understand the movements on the market. The trend is good at the moment and the price is more or less going up. But can we realy predict the price in a month or two period? I would also like Bitcoin to hit 1000$ soon but we are all aware how trends can change fast so by January anything is possible.

i thought at the beginning of the year the price of coin drops down since most of them will book their profits ,it would be nice to see the price increasing to $1000 but when ever there was a build up to rise to the said value something horrible will happen and the price drops down drastically ,so even now i do expect something like this would come up to deter the price to reach $1000.

i always like and agree with the analysis that zooms out and looks at the bigger picture especially when talking about the future of bitcoin. this is what i have been telling everyone to not look at the short term changes, when looking at how price has been changing over the years excluding the sudden rises and the pump, you can see a better picture.

We only have 54 days till end of 2016 and if average is $3 increase it will be short to reach $1000 but it is still possible. Price is stable at $700 level for the past 8 days. I am expecting an increase again before black Friday, Cyber Monday and in Christmas season for those who plans to buy using Bitcoins in online shopping.

very difficult course in predicting the price of bitcoin. but in my opinion could have been bitcoin prices reached above 1000USD, due to an increase in the price of bitcoin is increasing every year.

Its  possible  but  i dont  think so  it  would  hit that  price  point  on  june  2017, as we  can see on the  price of bitcoin its   too  unpredictable  just like we  saw  on previous weeks,  it rises  up   from  $740+ and   we  are  keeping  saying that  it would  reach  $800 price in  no time  but  as we can see the price decreases   again and now  we are stabilizing on $700 mark and  i think  this  kind of  movements  would  again  to  stay  put   on this  price points.

I think it will reach $1k before the summer.. During the winter we should be able to see a big, BIG price increase compared to today's price. I'm expecting to see a price at least the double of what it is.

People would be overjoyed with that kind of returns in any asset.
I would be happy if we hit an ATH any time before the next halving.  :)

It is a great analysis based on your graph. I really hope this will continue to increase. Lets us hope that there is no negative news like hacking or banning bitcoin to continue this growth.

The growth may not remain always at constant 6%/monthly like right now. As there are still uncertainty in bitcoin market because even a small FUD/Fake news are making panic dump. However as buy support is building quite nicely on $700 level right now $1000 seem reachable by mid or by end of next year.

Such growth probably attract more and more new investors which is good for BTC,but with such price ups and downs it is difficult to predict what will happen in about half a year or more.Usually the biggest changes happen at this time of year and then things settle down.

With the halving effect,SegWit,Lightning Network and other positive news, maybe this increase will continue so this prediction becomes a reality.

Yeah, it will likely hit that amount on 2017. I am not so sure it is in June though. This can only go up unless a big catastrophe (major code breach or something like that) happens.

If you really think that will happen, then buy yourself even more coins (in case you haven't done it yet). Historical (in Bitcoin terms) events are no guarantee for the future. It's not impossible that we may end up being lost in a bear market for a quite a long period. I don't say it will happen, but it's a realistic possibility.

Right now we are struggling to come even close to $800, let alone $900, and especially the $1000 level. I will start with speculating about $1000 prices as soon as we touch the $900 level again. Currently, I prefer to focus on seeing the price somewhat stabilize above the $700 level, which is not an easy thing at all. Especially in an uncertain market as Bitcoin.

I agree with you, and though I was first reluctent to see a price increase soon, the fact that it has been quite stable lately let me hope the best :).

Surely more investors will come to the Bitcoin world. Each new day more and more are joining. The volume of transactions are increasing a lot, the fees are becoming higher. This business isn't so fragile as people said in the past. Who doesn't come to this world now won't make profit tomorrow. It's time to adopt Bitcoin and stay in the top.

Bitcoin price will increase on the next months. Local currencies are crashed. People want to buy things and they want to pay cheap prices, BTC is the answer. Now it's time to buy BTCs to sell when the price hits 1000-1100.

I would like to see a 6% increase every month (on average), but its difficult to maintain this. It will depend on new users wanting to use bitcoin as a payment method or as storage of value.

I've been observing this trend also and for now it is working really well.

look at all the FUD news spreading and still you see the price will be increasing by 6% every month on an average, interestingly some people are not interested to see a price above $1000 and so is the reason you are hearing FUD's when the price is about to reach the 1k milestone ,lets see how the price would be during Christmas and then we can predict a price

That price spike in 2014 was caused by pump&dump scheme: Chinese speculator mixed with trading bot of Mt.Gox.
This time we all are hoping for more organic growth caused by increased bitcoin awareness and adoption - and this takes time.

I know you all want to see $1000 but I have bad news for you. You will never see $1000 in your life time. Maybe in your childrens' time. Why? Because of bad fundamentals, slow adoption, no useful applications, do you know how hard it is to use bitcoins relative to other forms of money? And if you send your btc to a wrong address, you can never get it back? Also, if you lose your private key to your wallet, you just lose all your coins in that wallet. Why would you want to use btc? There's no privacy, no fungibility, no recourse, no nothing in btc. No wonder it's a dying technology.

Seems that guy is so butt hurt to sell all his bitcoin when it is at lower price.  Missery loves company, so I think spreading FUD about BTC is his way to have more company that sold bitcoin at its cheapest.

I can be convinced if

1.  There is no dev team behind bitcoin that is working 24/7
2.  No Huge base Users and no new comers that adopt bitcoin everyday.
3.  No third party processor that is willing to process bitcoin transaction into useful and easier to its client.

Bitcoin will never be dead eversince and as you've see the price continously grow and 700$ is not a died one, its alive and kicking people uses bitcoin gains more profit(depend on how they used them) and some others earn free money from it and i really believe that 1000$ is achievable,  if you dont believe on bitcoins will well you better don't use it and go outside and have a chillin life.

However because it is an 'uncertain market', a bitcoin currently is at the '$700 level'. In other words a meager 12 billion dollar market cap.

There is so much upside potential if you are able to zoom out a bit like OP does (even though I prefer to zoom out even more to lets say 2026, ten years from now).

Bitcoin price is highly unpredictable but the prediction made by the OP seems to be something realistic. Time is the major concern, now this time if gradual increase in price continues surely by June 2017 we can see the price over $1000 even if much increase doesn't happen by the year end.

The possibility of bitcoin reaching a price of thousand dollars in bullish with the current market trend but anything can happen in the crypto world a speculation or a major FUD can impact the price of bitcoin if not you could hear about a big hack in the exchange which would drive the bitcoin down,either way i will believe only when the price reaches $1000.

That depends on the onchain transactions. If the onchain transactions is simlar to now, the price will not be too high.

Yes maybe if the rise in bitcoin like this in the future, maybe in 6 months I believe bitcoin already hit $ 1,000. Because if I see fluctuations in the price of bitcoin is still within the normal ranges, so if consistent until the next months could definitely reach that number.

Discuss with old statistics isn't best way to see the future. Yes, it's rate was increasing about 6% per month but also it can decrease. Your opinion is good result of discuss but I think bitcoin's price won't be so high in june 2017. I think it's price will be 700-800$ max, not higher but maybe lower. Bitcoin's price is more stable now and I think it won't increase greatly.

+1 for you , it won't happen in short time to achieve $1000 in 2017 maybe more longer but we're optimistic bitcoin would be reached this price in the future. We're in the stable price of bitcoin (I hope so) and it will be a long journey for bitcoin to increase the price (but anything is possible in the internet)

Hopefully, this will happen, $1000 is kinda of a magical border and it certainly evokes interest in the people which aren't familiar with bitcoin.
As indicated above the Bitcoin have a steady phase going on so I would like to see it continue.

That could be great to happend :) But it depends about what will happens until then. We can't be 100% sure. Maybe we will have war, maybe not. Maybe the global economy, collapse maybe not. But if nothing of all this happens I think bitcoin have the possibilities to hit that price.

Well, if the bitcoin prices always go up, it could happen, or even occur halving probably bitcoin prices could be more than $ 1,000 at the time. I believe bitcoin actual price increase can be seen from the beginning of 2017 or at the end of the year. I predict that at the time, bitcoin will be something that most in the search

i don't know about that because its too long for me to see that price in June 2017, but if we see on the chart, i only can hope and pray that in next year will reach on that amount and it would make us happy as the chart give increasing to high on the line.

I think bitcoin will hit the price of 1000 USD earlier than june of 2017.  The reason is that, more people will flocks in to bitcoin because of the updates that will happen to bitcoin after this SegWit Implementation.  It was stated that upgrades will be alot easier than before.  Even smart contract will have an easier implementation to bitcoin unlike before.  So basically, this updates  if happen will make bitcoin price sky rocket and investors will most likely wanted to take profit on this so they will buy early to get bitcoin cheaper.

Yeah i think before june that price will increase and touch 1k value before june. since segwit already release that can affect the value or more.
And the movement of price right now is fast than last year.. and i think we can touch even 1400 in june or before june.

Unfortunately, it's still a long regulatory way to go before the first bitcoin ETF actually hits the market, but when it does, it will go past $1000 in a matter of days.

WE cant still assure  of  this thing that  might  happen  on next   year  because   bitcoins  price is too  unpredictable. If those  price  increase would still continue  up to  next  year for  sure we would   hit  $1k price  but we wont  know  what  would be the exact  month. As  long the   adoption increases and other  related  news  into  bitcoin it will really affect it and  we  must  not  forget the possible  negative  situations  that  might  happen too.

it has some kind of color to it that people are waiting for it to hit, and as soon as it hits that is the goal of majority of long bitcoin hodlers to unload on the market and break the price maybe not much bit it will definitely be hard to keep that price for a long time.

The day when bitcoins hits $1000 price people will start selling their coins and it will definitely affect the price very badly as we may see price going down after that as majority of users are holding their coins since long time so that they can sell their coins when it reaches to the price level of $1000.

It is a great possibility that the price will hit $1k in next year as by that time we will see many investors and companies will start accepting bitcoins but its hard to imagine that it can achieve that price in this year,  no doubt bitcoin is moving in a positive direction but it will take time achieve the milestone of $1k.

It should be hit to 1k since we are already experience of price increase in few months ago and i think it can be still happen again and hit this price ..

Well yeah we dont know the exact month when 1k value touch but we are recorded the chart from before and i think it will repeat what the fluctuate happen before and it will happen again in 2017 which is idea or tips that we can know when the price will increase again.. so i think the price will touch to 1k value..  this 2017 maybe nearly june not the exact month..

That would be the smart move to make, we cannot afford to miss the opportunity to sell them when price goes higher in order to make profits as its likely that price will fall after that as many people will prefer to sell their coins when price goes higher and buy them back when price drops after that.

Yes, I'm sure if the price of bitcoin be $ 1,000 would have a lot of people who sell their bitcoin, because it is very profitable. In June 2017 may bitcoin prices would reach $ 1,000, but it will happen if prices continue to rise and not drop in a row. I would also expect it to happen in 2017.

I think that will happen earlier after Trump's election. The price of it started to rise up after that. But it can be possible to hit that amount after December, when he will take the presence. After that good things will happen to bitcoin, I hope.

Considering that we are around the low to mid $700's now, I could see the price hitting $1000 by the middle of next year. It really depends on bitcoin in the media and public perception.

It also depends on the amount of transactions which are done by the people that are already in the bitcoin economy, since the bigger the amount of transactions means the currency is being used and its healthy, also the price is dependent on the development of other coins and the economic and political climate.

I detest TA.  Trying to figure out where the price of something is going based on where that price has already been is a sucker bet.   Many, many people try and have tried to figure this stuff out, and the market always spits in their eye.  So yeah, we could definitely be at $1000 by next year (and I hope we do get there by then), but relying on the crystal ball BS just doesn't convince me. 

But I have complete different yet optimistic speculation here, I do not think bitcoin need more time to reach $1000 levels, so it may test by middle of next month itself. Yes like many people predicted, bitcoin may test $1000 price levels before end of this year. New USA government, India's recent moves against black money and celebration times will support bitcoins to continue its up surge.

We can't say it for sure reach $1000 at that time, but at least it's pain relief for those who waiting for.
We expected that price since the last time it had been reached that price, $700 now and it should be stable on $1K prices.

Even I am hoping to see that price by next month, and bitcoin is gaining more attention from the people and many people are showing their interest in investing in bitcoins and if people continue to buy then I think we don't have to wait longer to see the price of $1k.

More and more users were getting into bitcoin usage and gradual increase might happen as mass adoption is getting continued. Another important thing is that price increase has got pause after a long time fluctuation of price around $715. Hopefully the price increase gets start around the year end and if gradual rise continues can expect $1000 by mid 2017.

By seeing at bitcoin price is quite strong, possible next year we will see big pump maybe coming fast before june 2017 but we can't predict for sure when the time bitcoin price will hit $1000.

The Bitcoin price could sky rocket any moment as soon as Trump gets inside the white house and starts pushing his policies. Nobody thinks he is going to actually go through with them but im convinced he will stick to his word and deliver. As soon as he shows his cards markets will crash big time and btc will go to 1000+.

Bitcoin's current price looks stable and ready for another spike at ant moment. We can bot give hard dates as there will quick spikes in price most the times when people were not expecting anymore. I say hitting $ 1000 isn't really big thing as we may see this happening at the end of the current year of early in the next year.

Now that price has dropped a bit I'm holding off buying any more coins unless I need to buy some Altcoins.

We are again under 700 $, I thought we will not come back here any more. This graph looking good, if we can expect price to be around 1000 $ for around 8 months and less that is a good thing. Even many of us here, including me of course, wished that to happen around new year, how times is closing it will be hard for price to reach 1000 so fast.

Being optimistic is a good thing and from the graph it seems that the target of $1000 is not far from now and it's possible to happen at the end of next year.

The price recently has been dropped for $15-$20 but if we check the overall price for 30 days it means that the balance is still positive.

We tend to mix up different things. Bitcoin is pure math in a way. And yet it doesn't mean that it's price can be mathematically predicted for real. Because our world is not math. Everything is changing here and you never now whether you will still be where you are in the future. So, we shouldn't think that Bitcoin will really be 1000 in June. A lot of things can happen till then.

I hope we can make some good money with the bitcoin these days but I honestly doubt about it and I think its gonna be hard if I really have to be honest.

It was said before  that bitcoin will  go higher after 10 years. Its all time high price which is above 1k usd ,will be doubleb or tripled someday. So i advice to invest  bitcoin at this early age.

On the contrary the more optimistic way is that bitcoin might probably hit more than $1000 in June A lot of things can happen from here till then.  With the implementation of Segwit, smart contracts is easier to build in top of bitcoin blockchain.  This might give bitcoin a boost when it comes to real life application.

Not need for june 2017, I sure this price will happen in end of this year. The bitcoin price can't control anyone because this is natural from demand and usage.

The price of the bitcoin is slowly increasing and decreasing every week and it's not really stable when it comes on the martket too in your prediction or as in OP bitcoin will not truly sure that it will increase or hit into 1000$ in the year of june 2017 but we do not really know every things happen for a reason.

I'm surprised sometimes from what such prediction appears. I don't say that it will never happen that bitcoin will cost 1000 around June. I think if it happen it will be just great! But I only doubt in factors that may affect on the plan of rising. If new hacking will happen we will not see 1000$ bitcoin price.

Hackings keep happening, but most of them are small in scale. Ideally, they shouldn't have an impact on long-term trends.
They should just be a blip in the larger scheme of things.

Lets hope this will happen, I really doubt about this but it can happen so I do not close the door for it fully but there is not a superb change it will.

I think this bad press will be outweighed by the development and adoption that happen in bitcoin.  Mostly hacking is not bitcoin fault, it is the exchange security so bitcoin is not to blame in this. It may affect the price temporarily because hackers need to sell this stolen coins but eventually price will bounce back and will be stronger than before.  At this point there will be a new soft fork for bitcoin, the activation of SegWit, which will enable bitcoin updates and upgrades to be implemented easier.

If you take all "hacks" so far into consideration, and forget about all the pumps and dumps that happened, then the price has gone nicely over a nearly 4 year period. Look at the charts beginning from January 01, 2013 till today.

It's very impressive considering we have gone through so much drama. This just shows that no matter how much the price can go down in a certain period, the price will climb back up where you eventually land into profits. At least, that has been the case so far. It's of course no guarantee that the price will continue to go up. Buying was easy at the time the price was $300-$400. Right now it takes more risk as we sit at a significantly higher price level.

hacking should not have any effect at all on bitcoin price because it has never been "bitcoin hack" but instead a "third party crappy service hack" and there is a huge difference between these two.

and also it has never been big, i mean even the bitfinex hack was not big enough. 120K bitcoin is nothing compared to daily trade volumes every day.

A lot can happen in 7-8 months. And in both directions of course.
I'm positive and believe that the $1000 range could be reached next year, sooner or later.
We are in a bull market and think we will continue doing so as long as nothing unexpected happens.

The price has been trending up over the past couple of weeks and it is not hard to imagine it hitting four digits as early as next year. With improvements on the bitcoin system and more people wanting a slice of the pie, the demand might propel the price to $1000. When that happens is anyone's guess.

The price of the bitcoin right now is really good and i know that it will hit the point of $800 dollars this comming holidays or maybe before the year ends and when we are going to predict that bitcoin will be in around of $1000 dollars then this is really good prediction and hoping that this will make it true.

This is sti a long time, everything can happen but like it's said, so far so good, the price is moving up more or less. I think we will see it in December itself, whether a pump or as an actual price but we will see it happening in December.
I have faith in bitcoins and its price and I think $1000 is nothing, but we are heading towards something big.

I'm hoping too that it hits 1000$ on this coming december. I will not be surprise if that happened based on what i saw about its price jump. It is very unpredictable, There is one thing that i know for sure, It will be surely pump in the last quarter of this year. Beats me if i'm wrong

I do hope that this $1000 will be possible next year because its very trending from previous weeks past and its good to dream of future rise of btc. The demand is shows high progress as traders shows their analysis graph as you can see the uprising trend on their monitoring. We must be positive towards btc growth and many will still wanting btc to be popular in the whole world and keeping its value profitable investment.

The $1000 is just a symbol, there isn't much more to that honestly. What is important is the steady growth over an impressively long period of time.

It is raising steadily right now so it is not so hard to believe that it will rise to this amount by the beginning of next year because we have so many high selling holiday seasons coming up until then all with in the next  month and a half.

I think we're going to go sideways for a while again. Then when the market gets tired, it'll probably take a small dip. All of the big price movements have always been tied to news headlines or China/ Asian influence so if neither is occurring, I don't think any headway will be made.

I would think a lot of people would have less money to invest during this time of year because many people buy gifts, take vacations or trips back home,

Great graphics, friend. I think the chart is true and trustworthy. If the fluctuation of bitcoin is always increasing, I believe bitcoin before June 2017 can reach $ 1,000. Bitcoin is currently on the rise and fluctuation tends to increase. We wait a little longer for bitcoin could hit $ 1,000.

By the middle of December 2016, we will be on a steep down trajectory until middle February 2017.

Not so early to say. The bitcoin price is $750 at the moment. It is possible to rise $250 in the next 8 months.

How do you know this already? We might not see $1000 prices next year, but the chances for it to happen in 2018 are quite realistic.

Of course this is assuming we won't see a major exchange getting hacked taking the price back down significantly, but verything right now looks very decent and promising.

At the time Segwit is activated and Lightning Network becomes part of Bitcoin as well, then the price will defintely get a massive boost. You're just being way too negative as always.

Anyway, I do agree that with this update in bitcoin network, the SegWit and the Lightning Netwokr maybe controversial but they will definitely bring hype to bitcoin when it is activated and implemented thus the increase in price is unavoidable.

I hope so..we all want to get a big profit when bitcoin hit up the 1000$ marked. All i can say 1000$ is too low why not we make it 10k dollars. Im sure all of us dont know what they will gonna feel if bitcoin climbed up at 10000$.

It does not make sense to buy (without discount) depreciating assets with a appreciating asset.

So instead I will gladly spend my depreciating fiat (as intended by our governments) to give away depreciating things people don't actually need.

its not about what we want but what investors or traders wants.I think current price of bitcoin is also very good if it stay here,big pump and dumps will decrease users faith in bitcoin as a currency,stability is more important then higher price.

I believe the price will hit $1000 earlier than June 2017. Many things can happen in the next months that can help BTC considerably. The new USA president choices can reflect on BTC price.

This thing might be possible on next year event which Trump will be seated as the new president of USA, if he would adopt and utilize bitcoins then for sure we willsee a major jump on bitcoins price but still i dont  think it could able to reach on $1k price at that time may on 800-900 would be possible  but not on 1k. Adoption would really be needed in able to attain this price.

People should have done their buying at far lower price levels than is the case right now. If you buy right now, and the price happens to reach $1000 at some point, then the profit is nice of course, but it won't be anything special since it's just under 34% in total profits. The only thing special will be the price reaching $1000 again, and not the profits that you have made. That however is different if you bought your coins at sub $300 price levels last year. People have had plenty of time to do so as the price was stuck below the $300 level for quite a long time. If you're still holding these sub $300 coins, and the price reaches $1000 where you'll be securing profits at, then that's what I consider to be a fantastic achievement. ;)

The price has been growing too fast with the growth in demand and user base currently, as I can see that there are many users getting added to the community daily and as such an enormous amount of transactions are getting seen, I don't think that we are any more far from seeing this to happen...

DOnt forget a sudden increase in price makes a.sudden dropped x2.. if bitcoin reach the 1000usd then sell all your btc .dont wait for it to go 1100usd or you will end up lost.

My prediction is early 2017 or onwards. 2017 will be a good year for 2017 since as of now, there are many good news about bitcoin and there are several press releases of company the will be launching their project next year.

I also think that this is gonna happen but its hard to say if this is really gonna happen, lets hope it will happen, I have some good predictions for the bitcoin so that is nice..

I also hope that your prediction will come true. We cannot be certain when the price will reach 4 digits but it is very near to come true. We also need to work in order for this to come true. Let us keep using and promoting bitcoin so the price will push higher as the demand increases. 

It is possible that bitcoin will hit 1000 USD earlier than June 2017,  If you observe, the new floor now is ranging from 720 USD - 750 USD,  and hype of SegWit activation is at the door.  Once SegWit got the needed vote to be implemented, new sets of Hype will be published.  With good news everywhere, there is a great chance of Bitcoin Price to bubble, and my guess would be 900 USD at the end of the year  if Segwit is activated and is succesful.  From that 1000 USD is not far from achieveing.

I think in the very beginning of the next year the price of bitcoin will cross 1000 USD levels and hope that in June 2017 the price of bitcoin will easily cross the all time high level and will make a new world record and hope that very soon we will see bitcoin trading above 1200 USD levels.

Bitcoin price is expected to hit $1000 before the mid of the year 2017. If the increase in price over the year end continues sure it reaches than the time scheduled to touch $1000. Already due to some economical situation already price touched $900 and has started decreasing.

Vinny Lingham has already said that Bitcoin is going above $3,000 in 2017.

I dont think so that can someone could able to predict to the point regarding on what happen on bitcoins price in the future hence no one could able to know that but we all be  glad if that price will reach on next year. Many of us will surely gain profits regarding on our bitcoin that we hold off for too long thats why we should really save up bitcoin as much as we can as of these days,
