Bitcoin start-up Unocoin's API to boost Indian cryptocurrency market

Unocoin, a bitcoin company from India, on Monday announced that it has implemented its first-ever application programming interface (API) allowing companies from around the world to access the world's largest potential market for Bitcoin and to take advantage of Unocoin's set of features.

Unocoin's API allows individuals and companies in India to generate bitcoin wallets; buy, sell, send and receive bitcoin; securely store bitcoin; retrieve real-time or historical price information; receive notifications when payments arrive; accept and request bitcoin payments for merchants; as well as allow companies around the world to remit bitcoin to India and to submit know your customer details of beneficiaries.

The idea to Unocoin company grew up in June 2013 at the IndiaBitcoin meet-up. Unocoin was set up at trial basis in India´s first Global Bitcoin Conference in December 2013. In Oct 2014 Unocoin was a fully operated bitcoin wallet. On 7th April 2016, the Unocoin business has been transferred to Unocoin Technologies Private Limited.  That is a fully owned subsidiary of a holding company in Singapore named Unocoin Technologies Pte Ltd.Unocoin offers two-factor authentication by using the Google Authenticator. This is done by using your mobile phone to generate a unique 6 digit code to log in and spend funds. Google Authenticator is available for Android, iOS devices, and Blackberry devices.Mobile PoS App for Indian Stores to Accept Bitcoin.Unocoin require the clients to check their identity by providing scanned copies of the following:
1. PAN card (mandatory),
2. Photo identity (which could be a valid passport, Aadhaar card, driving license, Voter id),
3. Passport sized photo (not older than 6 months) (mandatory), and
Unocoin may use your personal information:
1. To identify you
2. To process transactions,
3. To send periodic emails with updates, promotions, company news, and notices regarding changes to policies,
4. Customize, measure, and improve Unocoin Service and the content and layout of our Website and applications,
5. To analyze use of the Website,
6. Prevent potentially prohibited or illegal activities, and
7. To undertake a verification of your identity with third party electronic identification providers
Unocoin started as a platform to buy, sell, send and receive bitcoins.
 
Unocoin later expanded with mobile phone recharge (airtime) buying through bitcoins.
 
Unocoin further developed a unique Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) to help the users to buy bitcoins by averaging out the cost. This reduces the risk of investing big amount at the wrong time.
 
Unocoin now offers merchant payment gateway. By this, Unocoin offering many advantages to merchants and other payment receivers to accept bitcoin on their websites.

Unocoin accounts temporarily blocked,due to a DNS resolution issue that Unocoin.com is facing since 3rd November 2016 morning, the access to Unocoin.com accounts are temporarily restricted ,  proceed with due diligence for fee % & deposit/withdraw timings.
